Dissolving the Duo
Sunflowers Under the Sun
It had been three long years of cooking five or more meals a day before Se7en was to debut. They had moved from the old school a year and a half ago. Though she still kept in contact with Seung Hyun, he had grown distant from the pack. It made her sad, but perhaps it was for the best. There was no reason he should have to suffer through their fight. There was no reason he should have to try and live like she did; cheering and smiling when all she wanted to do was cry and collapse. It was getting too close. They were going to debut as a duo in under six months. She would have to figure out how to live without them and it terrified her.
It was a normal day, only three months from Se7en’s debut. She was kneeling on the floor in front of the table setting out lunch for the three of them and trying not to show how sad she was becoming. She had managed to grow tall and pretty, just like Dong Wook had ordered and in return, he had watched over her boys. She had come in wearing her uniform and black heels, with her hair down today. It wasn’t that she was trying to look nice for Dong Wook. She just didn’t have time to change into her street clothes. As for her hair, well, she had given up that fight months ago. Re-buying hair ties every time he broke them was just a waste of money.
She finished setting out lunch and smiled as everyone sat down. Six days a week, at noon, the three of them had lunch. It was YG’s way of making her socialize. All of a sudden, as they were eating, Yang Hyun Suk made the announcement that Ji Yon and Young Bae would be a part of a group instead of a duet. He decided they would have to wait two years, so that the new ones would be prepared. He was trying to gauge how the boys would react through her, as always.
"How many more? I already have to feed you, and, them and, this idiot. I have to keep track of their grades, and get them to practice, and the gym. Now, you want to bring in more?" She yelled at him and then covered suddenly. "I'm so sorry." She said, quietly. Hyun Suk had become almost like a father to her. It was almost common that she would forget her place. Every so often, she would forget that Hyun Suk owned the company and had her boys lives in his hands.
"Come now, Yoon Ah. We pay you a good wage for your help and you volunteered to take charge of them, short of management." Hyun Suk said and she threw her hands up in the air. She spun away from them and paced the room, frustrated. "Yoon Ah, please. You can help them. We'll let you be a part of the dance classes." He said and she shook her head. "Then what?" he asked, acting as a doting father.
"I want martial arts lessons." She said and Se7en hugged her, holding her still.
"I like you better defenseless. It’s the man’s job to protect the woman. That means you have to be defenseless." He said and she elbowed him in the stomach. He was so weird to her, all the time.
“You know I was never defenseless.” She said as he g
