In Cinderella's Shadow

-Jealous?

Heading over to Jiho's house I jumped around a bit.

Some days ago all designers had to send in their designs and actually today, there should be the results but I could leave earlier today again.

Jonggyu would call to tell it me. After all, I was free. Literally free, Heesok wasn't home for the next three days, so was my dad and I told the maids secretly they wouldn't have to come as well since I could do all the things on my own. It would be a perfect weekend!

I rang on his doorbell and looked at my blackberry. Maybe I have missed Jonggyu's call already.

Jiho opened the door and a warm smile spread on his lips. "Yeunja ah! Come in, I'm watching something!"

He sprinted back to his living room already while I still stood outside, dumbfounded.

"Yah, come in now!" I heard him shouting and quickly did so. I put off my high heels and jacket, taking it with me as I plumped down on the couch. "And what is it?"

He smiled right back at me. "My favorite movie...it's like, ten years old sharply...but I love it to death!"

"Then we're going to watch it." I replied him and leaned back comfortingly.

____

After the movie ended I wanted to go home. I was stuck here for more than two hours...and I think I had bothered him during the movie.

"I should-" I got cut off by my phone in my pocket and hastily fished it out.

It was Jonggyu, so I quickly pressed the loud speaker. "Yah?! Are the results there?!" I screamed into the phone excitedly and I just heard a growl from him. "Yah, princess, be more quiet, will you...And yes!"

I squealed as loudly as possible, making Jonggyu and Jiho whine.

Clearing my throat, I tried to keep calm again. "O-okay...and?!"

There was a long pause. "So, Jaeyup hyung managed it. And Joonho too and, I guess they only took boys this time...because I was chosen, too."

I didn't know what I should've felt at that moment. I was happy for Jonggyu, yet I was kind of upset I didn't manage it.

"Just kidding, Yeonnie ah, you won along with my hyungs!"

I started screaming and jumped around Jiho's neck. "Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god, oh my god, oh my-"

"Shut up, okay! I understood you by now!" Jonggyu roared on the other line and I took some steps back. "I really won from our layer?!"

"Yes, Yeonnie ah, seriously! I'm so happy for you because you deserve it!" I practically heard him smiling and my chest grew warm. "Aw, Gyu~ you're too cute! Thanks for telling, let's meet this weekend, alright?! We gotta celebrate that!"

He answered quickly. "I so do agree with you, Yeunja! Okay, see you!"

"Yep, bye!" I hung up and jumped around for another time. "I can't believe that! Is that crazy?! Oh my, this is too crazy!"

Jiho nodded with a soft smile on. "This sounds amazing! But you could only be one of the winners with your talent!" I hit his chest. "Stop it, Jiho!"

He smirked lightly and hit me back. "Who was that on the phone?"

"Jonggyu, my bestest friend ever, he has the office next to me..."

"Office...next to you?" he asked and blinked two times slowly and I snapped my fingers in front of his face. "Yah, day dreaming, Mr. Woo?"

Jiho shook himself and smiled. "I think I saw him when I visited you at lunch the last time."

I blinked and smiled. "Ah, really? Isn't he a cutie?! I love him, I really do...did I ever tell it him?" a crease built up on my forehead and I bit my thumb yet shaking my head, "He must know! But I got to go now. It's going to be so lame at home if nobody's home, not even maids."

I waved at him slowly and wanted to walk out of the house as I heard Jiho inhaling. "Yeun...Yeunja ah?"

"Huh?" I looked back and he let his fist fall down which he must've just lifted up, how it seemed, "Want to stay over at my house...maybe?"

I stopped in my tracks and saw him holding back a smile. What worse can he do than you in his basement, Yeunja?

I remembered when we first met and started chuckling. "Well...erm, why not, I guess? But let me get some things from home."

"Uh, sure thing. I'll be waiting." he chuckled shyly and scratched the side of his neck. I just turned around and walked home quickly.

I got all things needed and weirdly, it wasn't much at all.

Exhilarated I rang on Jiho's doorbell once more as I wandered back to his house and heard somebody stumbling or tripping and a loud crash as if something fell against a wall. The door opened and Jiho leaned against the frame coolly. "Hey~"

"Did you just...trip?"

"Me?!" he pointed at himself, then flicking his wrist, "Pfft, please~ me? Woo Jiho? Tripping? Oh dear god~ no...tsk..."

I raised an eyebrow as he started to slowly rub his arm. "You heard it?"

I laughed and nodded with a big grin on. He let me in and puffed his cheeks. "Before I die...want to eat? I'm cooking something."

"You can cook?" I furrowed my brows and Jiho gasped. "First you dare asking how the big Woo Jiho can ran against a wall and now you query my cooking skills? Yeunja, my heart feels injured now, thank you." he waved dramatically and laid his palm down on his forehead, tip-toeing into his kitchen while I followed him. "Drama queen."

"So what?" he shrugged and turned to his cooker again. I looked at his back and smiled to myself. He looks so cute while cooking although I can't see his front side. His back is enough...his body is perfect too...

I halfway drooled at the memory of him at Jeju Lotte Hotel's pool but shook my head quickly. Yeunja, don't get all ert here!...But Jiho got perfect looks, I have to admit that...Hm, what is Jiho thinking at the moment?...Wait, am I hop- He's thinking about cooking, he is thinking about cooking!

Jiho turned around and I blushed madly, trying to hide my red ears.

"Since when do you know, erm Jonggyu?" he wondered and faced the cooker again. I scratched my head at his answer. "I think I know him since fourth grade...so, for about eleven years now. He was by my side since forever, and also, he's one of my only friends...I guess I have just like, three friends because of my job."

"Did you count me in?" he looked over his shoulder and I giggled child-like. "Okay, four."

I saw him nodding. "Now I'm fine with that...and-"

"Is this a questioning, officer?" I laughed and Jiho smacked his lips. "I'm sorry that want to get to know you better? Is this a mistake?"

I shook my head while looking down. "No...and...like to tell me about your friends as well?"

"Hm, well...one is working with me at my translation office. And the others are just ehm, somewhere, yeah." Jiho stuttered with a nervous chuckle and I stood up confused. "And the others~?"

"I have five other friends...we are all very close and I know my best friend since elementary school."
I now stood next to him and watched him cooking. "Are you often doing something together? Do you meet up a lot?"

"Is this now a questioning, officer?" Jiho gazed at me softly and I shrugged looking into a pan but he carefully pushed me away. "Don't watch a cook cooking! How rude!"

I clicked my tongue and went back to my seat.

"And yeah," Jiho looked at me, "we meet up a lot. They're my best friends."

"It's nice to hear. Lately, Gyu and I can't meet up often and it upsets me. I want to get some time with him so badly. I only see him at work and sometimes at lunch." I sighed deeply and Jiho turned around completely, stunning his hands onto the free area in front of the cooker. "I feel sorry for you. I meet my friends a lot."

"I meet one friend a lot, too." my eyes sparkled at him but he just pursed his lips. "I thought you can't meet Jonggyu that often..."

"I meant you, man!" I laughed and he giggled, turning back to the cooker. "You're so cute, Yeunja ah."

"You are cute~" I cooed sweetly and grazed at some stuff that was placed on his small table, "When will dinner be done? I can't wait to taste your cooking."

"Soon...wait a bit, okay?" Jiho spoke calmly and I nodded for my own.

____

Jiho sat everything on the table and I looked at the noodles, dukbokki and vegetables, smiling I peered at Jiho. "This looks really delicious."

"Dig in. Take as much as you want!" he beamed at me and I did so.

As our plates were full Jiho looked at me once again. "Enjoy!"

I gave him one nod with a big smile and dug in hungrily.

I chewed carefully and nodded. "I really like that!"

"You do?" Jiho covered his mouth and blinked. I replied him hurriedly. "Yes! Jonggyu also loves to do it! He's an awesome cook!"

"As good as I am?" he asked and I tapped my cheek. "Hmm, I think he is even better." I am not even lying...I feel bad. I'm just so used to Jonggyu's cooking.

"Hm, you could be at his house anyway. It's not like you have to be here." he softly hissed and continued to eat.

"Ji-"

"Gwenchana." he mumbled and chuckled dryly, "Totally."

I looked at him hurt and ate in silence.

"Do you...have a nickname? I heard Jonggyu not often say your real name on the phone..." Jiho remarked and looked up at me. I quietly picked up some noodles. "Yeah...he gave me a nickname everybody is calling me. I really like it! It's Yeonnie...although I don't understand it because my name starts with -Yeun...Also, he calls me princess or 'my' princess. Isn't he cute?!"

He looked at me and chewed emotionless. "Yeah."

"You can call me Yeonnie, too, if you want. Really a lot of people call me like this, seriously! And just because Gyu-"

"Yes, just because Jonggyu said it once...I know that by now." Jiho cut me with a low growl and I looked down. "I'm sorry...I can't talk about anything but him...I don't have other things to talk about. Hehe, I'm sorry!" I laughed slightly but he didn't move a single muscle in his face. "Mmh...kay."

"Are you not feeling well, Jiho?" I asked with a bit worry in my voice and he gazed straightly into my eyes. "I'm totally fine, I'm just not hungry anymore. Maybe you're right, I'm just not that good in this."

A weak smile hung on his lips and I shook my head. "I didn't say you're bad! I-I just ate a lot with Jonggyu...And I'm just very used to his cooking!"

He nodded and sighed. "I'm just...full. Do you still want to eat?"

"A bit. Just my plate." I silently stated and Jiho nodded. "Arasseo..." He put away the small pans and pots with the food and I watched him. Is he upset? Was is because I told him Jonggyu is better in cooking? Oh god, I didn't want to! Is it bad when he's not as good Jonggyu in cooking?! I just know that I made him sad somehow...Great, Yeunja, you brought Jiho into a bad mood. Way to ruin the free weekend. Just-

"Did you hear me?" Jiho brought me back to reality and I jerked slightly, rubbing my arm. "Oh!...No."

"I was asking what we want to do...TV or just...chilling or-"

I shrugged at his question and Jiho did as well. "Living room?"

"Yeah." I smiled and followed him after I finished eating.

"So," his gaze met mine, "Yeonnie ah."

My heart grew awfully warm when Jiho called me like that and he continued. "What now?"

?

I shook my head violently.

"Are you alright?!" he asked worried and I flushed, trying to laugh it off. "Oh gosh, yes! Everything alright! I just-"

I stopped and inhaled normally, "Okay, just...like...TV?"

"As the queen says." Jiho grabbed the remote and I admired his side profi-

Yeunja, you've gone crazy!

"Are you really okay? Maybe we can just meet another day-"

"NO!" I screamed and seemed to scare the hell out of him. I patted his arm. "No need...I was just in thoughts..." Deep and weird thoughts.

Jiho nodded unsurely and there was silence because he switched so often between all channels that we just saw one picture before it left the screen again.

Say something, girl! "So~" I bit my lip nervously, "Do you have a nickname, by any chance?"

His eyes swept over to me. "The Wooster."

I chuckled. "Seriously?"

"No," he shook his head and laughed, "but I'd be pleased if you'd call me like that."

"It is a stupid name." I bluntly spoke and Jiho appeared to nod at my sentence. "It is...but you asked."

A smile formed on my lips. "You didn't have to make one up..."

"Argh, but you asked!" he let the channel where it was and we continued to watch it.

I let out a small breath out of my nose and shook my head with a satisfied expression.
