All Alone?
Oppa, I Don't Remember! When I woke up, it was already morning. I was relieved when I saw they took away the monitor but when I tried to get up I noticed my left arm was in plaster and my head was bandaged. I wondered why I didn’t notice yesterday. When I stood up, I suddenly felt unstable and had to grab a hold of the bed so I wouldn’t fall. The doctor suddenly entered the room so I sat down again.
“Hello,” he greeted me, “are you feeling better?”
I nodded my head. “I’m fine, excluding the fact that I still don’t remember anything.”
“That’s alright, no need to rush. Where you planning on going somewhere?” he asked with a faint smile.
“No,” I denied, “I just didn’t want to lie down anymore.”
He snickered apparently finding what I just said amusing. “I perfectly understand you, you see, you’ve been sleeping for three days in a row.”
“Three days?” I exclaimed.
The doctor nodded.
“Wow, now I feel like sleeping beauty,” I mumbled.
The doctor took a few more steps into the room and sat down on the chair next to my bed. “Well, I came here to exanimate your head wound,” he explained.
I smiled and allowed him to take of the bandage revealing the painful wound I hadn't noticed yesterday.
“Oh, I didn’t ask yesterday but, how long do I need to stay in the hospital?” I asked remembering they questions which shot through my head when I woke up.
“Well, judging from your injuries, probably a day or two and after that you should come for a checkup every week,” he looked at me, “but you don’t have anywhere to go, do you? If you want, you could stay a little longer.”
I shook my head carefully, not wanting to reopen my now unprotected wound. “No, I’d rather not, I don’t really like hospitals.”
“Where are you planning to go?” he asked me, a bit concerned.
“Well, yesterday you told me we came here on a holiday so my parents must have arranged a place to stay. I figured I can stay there for the time being.”
The doctor nodded but still couldn't let go of his worries. “Will you be aright with your arm in the plaster?”
“I think I can manage," I answered, feeling confident.
We both stayed quiet as he continued to examine my wounds.
“Can I see my family?” I suddenly asked, “I might remember something.”
The doctor nodded as he bandaged my head again. “I thought you might ask, there are a lot of important things we need to discuss.”
