Circle 26 (Part 2) : The fortune-teller is right

A 1000th Years of Love Is Worth

Our glasses clicked before we drink, I love the sweetness and I remembered why DongWoon didn't choose champagne -- It's sweet.

DongWoon held my hand which is on resting on the table, “Mianhae, if I wasn't having work, I could have shopped along with you just now.” He said.

I shook my head, “Ani, gwaenchanayo. I had EunJi and YoSeob with me, daijyobu.” I said.

*Translations: (Japanese) Daijyobu means the same as Gwaenchana (Korean) -- Okay; Fine; No problem, etc.*

DongWoon smiled, “Probably I should give up on some classes for the next semester.” He said.

Indeed, due to DongWoon's teaching, the whole cohort's results improved a lot, and it's A LOT.

So the principal kind of arranged more classes to be taken by him.

I looked at DongWoon, feeling heartache, “Uri DongWoon must be feeling tired.” I said.

DongWoon held my hand tighter, “Ani, I just wanted to have more time for you.” He said.

“Maybe I should quit the job.” He said.

I was rather astonished, “Oppa? You really thought of quitting?” I asked.

DongWoon didn't really response and the waiter's timer is just nice -- He served the dishes just then.

“Let's eat.” DongWoon let go of my hand and we started enjoying our meal.

After we had our meals, I decided to take a stroll back home.

Along the way, I asked DongWoon a few questions that I had in my mind.

We passed by a fortune-telling shop, “DongWoon ah, do you believe in these things?” I asked.

He shook his head, “I don't think my future could be depicted by someone along the street?” DongWoon joked a little.

I chuckled, “But I want to try.” I said and pulled him along.

He smiled and followed.

“Ajeossi, I want my fortune to be told.” I went there and had a seat.

DongWoon sat down beside me.

The fortune-teller looked at me and smiled, “Aigoo~ such a rare young lady coming to my humble store. Alright then, what do you want to ask about? I could give you a special discount.” He said.

The fortune-teller looks like he's in his forties, his hair was still black but there are some signs of white hair here and there.

Of course, he wasn't shabbily dressed. He was wearing a somehow special costume and had a few decks of cards on his desk covered with a yellow cloth.

Upon hearing, I smiled, “Jinjjayo? Kamsahamnida.” I said and then looked at DongWoon before turning back to the fortune teller.

“Ajeossi, I want to ask about my marriage.” I asked.

Ajeossi asks for my palm and then looked at my face, “Agassi, you are married at such a young age. You are only 19 this year aren't you?” He asked.

I nodded, “How did you know?” I was rather overwhelmed.

The ajeossi smiled, “Young lady, I am a fortune-teller. Well, as for you marriage, you would expect a twin baby, a boy and a girl.” He said.

I looked at him, “Jinjjayo? A dragon-pheonix twin?” I asked.

He nodded, “Like you said so, young lady. However, there's some bad news.” He said.

The fortune teller looked at DongWoon, “This young man beside you must be your husband, isn't he?” He asked.

DongWoon nodded, “Ne, is there anything wrong?” He asked.

Ajeossi sighed and said, “Young man, here's a heart breaking news for you.” He looked at DongWoon, “You only have got 1 more year to live.” He said.

(DongWoon's POV : He's right, 1 more year..)

I stood up, feeling enraged, “Ajeossi, how could you curse my husband? You are such a bad guy!” I said and left.

DongWoon bowed and gave him a 30'000 won before leaving and went to chase after me.

“Min Ah! Min Ah..” DongWoon grabbed hold of me and hugged me tightly, “Gwaenchanayo, I won't leave you, I promise.” He said.

(DongWoon's POV : Mianhae, jeongmal mianhae..)

I hugged him tight, “How could you be leaving me so fast? That ajeossi lied! You are so healthy, how could you be leaving me?” I ranted while my tears flowed out uncontrollably.

We are now standing under a lamp post near the house, just two of us alone.

DongWoon my hair with his fingers, “Min Ah, don't cry.. My darling Min Ah, it hurts me to see you like this, remember?” He said with a really gentle low-toned voice, ringing beside my ears.

I nodded but I couldn't stop myself from crying, it was really scary, even just thinking about losing DongWoon.
