Seunghyun’s POV~
It was pouring rain outside and you could hear thunder crackling from the distance. I had nowhere to go but forward, not daring to turn back. I was soaked from head to toe and I was imply sitting at a nearby bus stop.
“Oh my, are you ok?” I looked up and was greeted by a pair of friendly and worried brown eyes. She was radiating a caring look and held an umbrella over her head.
“Yeh.” I replied, not wanting to attract too much attention. Yet before I could even walk away, I felt a warm blanket wrap itself around my shoulders. I saw the girl from before giving me a small smile,
“I know a café around here that makes some really good hot coffee.” She gently takes my hand and puts me by her side, underneath the umbrella.
“I’m Sal by the way, and you are?”
“Seunghyun.” I replied. I didn’t’ talk at all, yet this one woman got more than a few words out of me. I shouldn’t have even met her, if I didn’t meet her this day, she wouldn’t have to have such a tragic life ahead of her.
Sal’s POV~
“I’m home!” I take my shoes off at the entrance and see Seunghyun sitting on the couch, flipping through the channels mindlessly.
“Welcome home.” He gave me the faintest smile people usually wouldn’t notice, yet I do.
“What’ve you done today?” I asked plopping myself down on the couch. He shrugged his lean shoulders, yet I looked around and saw that the floors were mopped and the kitchen was sparkling clean.
“Neh thanks for the house work.” I said and lightly pecked him on the cheek. I got up and went straight to the kitchen, putting on my usual apron.
“You hungry?”
I yelled out but heard no reply, figuring he was I turned out the stove and took out some soup from last night.
Seunghyun’s POV~
I heard Sal’s phone ringing for the nth time and figured I might as well get it. It was an unknown number and I tensed up for the slightest second before answering it myself.
“Sal? Are you there? Yobseyo?” It was a male voice. The seed of anger was slowly sprouting and then suspicion came in when I heard the other voice say,
“I just wanted to call and see if we were still up for or date tomorrow. Ok, just call me back when you can, bye.” It was instant silence and I couldn’t help but stare at the phone in anger and betrayal. Was Sal cheating on me?
“Dinner’s ready!” She called out and I quickly erased the phone conversation, and went back to the living room.
Sal’s POV~
“I’m heading out!” I announced and saw Seunghyun not even turning my way, he would usually at least give me a small nod and smile; but nothing this time. I locked the door behind me and headed off to meet my brother.
“Oppa!~” I chanted when I spotted him in the crowd and tackled him.
“Oof! Yah just because you’re my little sister doesn’t mean your little.” He joked and ruffled my hair in a playful manner.
“So what was up with the phone call yesterday?” He asked me but I only raised an eye brow in confusion.
“You called? I didn’t get anything.” I replied and he simply shook off the thought.
“Probably an accident or something. Anyways, ready to celebrate your birthday?” He asked and I could only jump in glee. This was bound to be the best day ever; a lunch date with my brother and then a dinner date with Seunghyun. I wonder if he has anything planned for me?
“So will I finally get to meet this secret boyfriend of yours?” My brother asks while we’re sitting at an Italian restaurant. Once I slurped the final strand of pasta, I gave him a slight nod and couldn’t help but smile. Finally, the two most important men in my life will meet one another.
Seunghyun’s POV~
I’ve been going over every single detail and I knew she was cheating on me. It was all right before my eyes; how I could miss such a thing was beyond me. I simply sat in the dark, on the couch when I heard the keys unlocking the door, followed by several laughs. One from Sal and one from the voice I heard on the other end of the line.
“Seunghyun? Why is it so dark in here?” Sal yelled from the corridor. She came in and clicked on the lights.
Sal’s POV~
I the lights and saw something I never could’ve imagined. I saw Seunghyun pointing a silver gun at my direction. Is this some sort of cruel joke? He gave me such a serious poker face, nobody; not even me, could tell what was going on through his mind. I heard the faintest click before I saw the bullet go off. It was as if time froze, or slowed itself down. I saw everything flash before me. The searing pain that started at my chest, how my brother saw the whole thing and ran toward Seunghyun; only to be shot within a few feet.
The pain was eating me alive and I couldn’t do anything but lay there on the cool wooden floor. My vision blurred but I saw Seunghyun walk up to me.
Seunghyun’s POV~
I’ve dirtied my hands plenty of times before, yet I knew that this was the final straw. The final blow that really made me lose control of my mind. I leaned down and pecked her lips, tasting the slightest rust of her blood before cooing,
“You shouldn’t have cheated on me.” She gave out a rasp breath before I heard her words being gargled by her insides. Those words could’ve made such a difference if she told me them a few hours earlier.
“I would never cheat on you, I love you. I also love….my older brother.” Her fingers pointed to the dead male body sprawled out and she finally passed out. I gently shut her eyelids and sat at the dinner table, enjoying the meal I had planend for the two of us. Yet I knew that she was gone, as was my mind.
