Setting/Type of story: Nana and Jay have always been best friends ever since they were 10. Growing up they were always popular with the opposite . But Jay would always turn down every girl that would ask him out. Why? Because his heart loved Nana. Nana however was oblivious to his love and had a few boyfriends. Her relationships would always break down, leaving her sad and depressed until Jay would cheer her up again.
The cycle would continue until Nana finally realizes that she loves him too.

Jay's POV~

"I-I like you a lot Jay, please go out with me!" Lizzy asks blushing furiously. Here is our school's queenka, asking me out. I was kind of left speechless for a second. I look behind her and see Nana hugging her current boyfriend. She gives off a sad look and her boyfriend walks away and she covers her face. I sigh and reply,

"I'm sorry, but I like someone else right now." I walk towards Nana and she looks up giving me a sad smile.

Nana's POV~

No matter how many times guys break up with me, each time hurts as much as the previous one did. I began crying and hear footsteps approaching me. It's Jay.

"Another one broke your heart?" He asks skeptically. I giggle and ask,

"Is it getting that obvious? What about you? Another girl confessed to you?" He blushes and nods.

"I'm still trying to figure out that one girl who you like Jay." He scratches the back of his head and pulls me.

"Where are we going?" I ask. He gives me a smirk and replies,

"I need to cheer you up with some ice-cream and I need somehting to get my mind off of things." I give him a warm smile, it's nice knowing how Jay is the one who's always willing to cheer me up. He suddenly stops and says,

"But first, turn that frown upside down." He pinches my cheeks, I force out a smile and he chuckles,

"Here, you look more beautiful when you smile." My heart skipped a beat and I felt myself blush.

Jay's POV~

When we got to an ice-cream shop, I ordered one chocolate for me and a strawberry for Nana, knowing that's her favorite.

"So lay it on me, I know you wanna rant on the jerk." I say once we find some seats outside on a park bench. She begins saying things like,

"He didn't even return my calls!....Did you know he chewed with his mouth open?" And so on. It's kind of cute and funny seeing her infuriated. I notice a bit of ice-cream on the corner of .

"Nana, you kind of have some ice-cream on your face." I say. She wipes at her cheeks -.-

"No silly, over here." I say pointing to my face as an example. She misses it and I wipe it for her.

"Got it. You need to be more lady like when you eat." I say teasing her. She puffs out her cheeks and says,

"Look who's talking Mr. Pig." We both exchange glances and begin cracking up.

Nana's POV~

I felt my heart about to burst out of my chest knowing how close Jay was sitting next to me. I didn't feel like that before, so why do I feel that way now? He's always been there for me as a friend only, one who always supported me when I went through a harsh break up. I look up and notice how handsom he actually is. Well, he's not one of our school's top 5 most handsom male students for nothing right? He catches me staring and asks,

"Do I have ice-cream on my face now?" I shake my head and look away. I begin eating my ice-cream fast to shut my mouth when he says,

"Yah you're going to choke or catch a cold if you eat that fast!" He takes a hold of my hand so I'd stop eating. I blush realizing his touch on my hand. I look up at him and notice how he's been staring at me with such caring eyes ever since we grew up together.

He leans in and I soon find his lips on mine. When we break apart I ask him,

"Does that mean I'm the girl you like?" He rolls his eyes at me but I see his red ears giving him away.

"Took you long enough pabo." He replies. He kisses the top of my head and replies,

"Happy birthday, so how old are you? 20?" I giggle and we finish eating our ice-creams.
