Key told me Jonghyun was sick. They all wondered how he had managed to become that. Only he and I knew why.

I knocked on his door, with a bowl of hot soup in my hand. Jonghyun was covered in blankets and was surrounded by 5 old women that looked very worried.

“Oh Jonghyunnie”, one of them said and felt his forehead. “I feel so bad for you, honey.”

Jonghyun smiled a weak smile. It didn’t seem to be the illness killing him, more the worrying ladies.

I cleared my throat behind them. “Excuse me? Can I be alone with Jonghyun-ssi for a minute?” I asked the ladies.

“Oh of course, dear. How considerate to bring soup”, they chirped and hurried out of the room.

Jonghyun smiled at me and his eyes glittered. I almost felt bad, going to break his possible hopes.

“I’m not here to be nice”, I coldly said. Jonghyun’s smile disappeared and a frown appeared.

“What..?” Jonghyun’s voice was hoarse and he was a little hot, but not more than this was a little exaggerated.

“What happened last night was a mistake”, I said. “I should have pushed you away. I’m sorry.”

Jonghyun frowned and tried to say something but I cut him off. “Please forget about it, and never mention it again.”

“Mi-Na-“, Jonghyun started.

I placed his soup by his bed. “Here’s your soup”, I shortly said. With that I left the room. Like that, fast and painless. Just like removing a plaster.

The last day continued, and by nighttime it was time to leave. The ladies embraced me in warm hugs and the men patted my shoulder. Well except one, Jonghyun.

He sent me a sorry look and handed me a small picture. “Look at it, when you’re in the car”, he said. Then he walked away from me.

I curiously looked at the picture. I felt an urge to open it right away but decided to follow Jonghyun’s order.

The car drive was filled out by Key’s nagging. I wasn’t aware of what he nagged about this time. Maybe the beds, food or something completely else.

My mind was focused on the picture Jonghyun gave me. I stared down at the old photography.

Jonghyun, my old high school crush, and I were smiling at the camera. I remembered it was my friend who took it. ‘As a memory’, she said that time.

I gulped when I slowly realized what Jonghyun giving me this picture meant. Jonghyun, key’s brother, was Jonghyun, the high school love.

I had known Jonghyun when I was in 8^th grade. I was in love with him when I was in 8^th grade. And I was pretty sure I still was in love with him now.
