The school finished successfully and I was awarded again by my school as the best essay writer of the year and received two gold medals and cash. I don’t have parents here in Seoul that’s why I can only share my victories with my fifteen year old sister, Bianca. My parents and most of my relatives live and work in Canada and only the two of us are left here because we’re still studying. Well, it’s okay for me as long as we’re provided by our parents. My younger sister and I live in an apartment owned by our rich uncle that’s why we don’t need to pay for the rent. At first, it’s hard to live far from our parents because we were not sure if we’re going to survive without them, but thanks to our kind and friendly uncle because he likes to visit us every Saturday. Bianca is also one of the bread winners in our family because she’s the topnotcher of their class. I’m proud of her and she’s proud of me too. Even if it’s only the two of us, we do celebrate when we got victories.

                Outside the campus ground, I unlocked my bicycle parked beside the gate and started to ride home. Unexpectedly, it rained but I’m lucky ‘cause I have my umbrella with me. I pedaled faster because it’s getting colder. Students are also running beside the road and covered their heads with their bags. Cars on the main road are also fast and some people are running towards the waiting shed because they don’t have umbrellas. I drove carefully and sang the song I heard a while ago in our school canteen.

                …’cause I can’t stop thinking ‘bout you girl…

                The street near our apartment was quiet, empty and wet. I looked everywhere but there’s no one outside, only the sound coming from TVs and radios were heard.

                Before I could reach the entrance of our apartment, “What the-” I jumped from my bicycle and ran towards the lady lying on the vacant lot next to our apartment, she’s lifeless and wet.

                “Miss, wake up,” I shook her shoulders but she’s not responding. Her long white gown was already dirty because of mud and rain. I observed her but there’s no blood or wound on her body. I threw my umbrella, carried the lady immediately and ran to the apartment.

                Inside, I saw Bianca eating snacks on the living room while watching a drama on TV and when she saw us, she panicked and took a dry towel for me.

                “Oppa, what happened? Oppa!”

                “Bianca, stop panicking! We’re alright!” I told her. “Open the door of our bedroom and let her use your bed.”

                She hurriedly opened the door of our bedroom and did what I say. Carefully, I put down the lady and her body was burning.

                “Oppa, who is she?” Bianca asked while drying the lady’s long hair.

                “I don’t know too. I just saw her lying on the vacant lot. She’s not injured but I’m sure something bad happened to her that’s why she’s there.”

                Bianca nodded, “she’s sick, oppa. Go get a cold and wet towel for her and make sure you change clothes too. She needs a very long rest.”

                I entrusted the lady to my sister and tried to calm myself. Before I stood up, I looked again at the lady’s face, she looks abandoned and lonely because there’s no light in her face. I hope and pray that she would open those eyes as soon as possible so that I can take her back to her family and know her name.
