Thirty-Five
HerAUTHOR's POV
[FLASHBACK] Yulsic's date on Chapter 31
"Are you enjoying your food?" Yuri asks Jessica who seems to be not in the right state.
"Yeah, it's delicious." she nodded her head and blinked her eyes a few times to stop herself from getting distracted by her thoughts. "Sorry, I didn't get much sleep last night." Jessica reasoned.
"Oh, does your head hurt? You know, we can reschedule this if you're not-"
"No, I'm okay." Jessica cut her off. "It's just...I've been thinking about a lot of stuff lately. Even sleeping gets hard for me to do." she doesn't know why she's saying these things but it can't be that bad to vent out to Yuri for a while.
"Those things are that serious, huh?" Yuri puts down her utensils for a moment to pay more attention to the girl across her. "Have you tried talking to Tiffany about what you've been thinking?"
"If I only can, I wouldn't be here." Jessica directly responded and lets out a heavy sigh after feeling bad for the tall girl since she had to deal with her like this. "I'm sorry, Yuri, this is the first time we get to go in a decent place and yet I'm in a horrendous mood. I definitely killed the mood now, didn't I?" Jessica's voice cracked as she apologize and hearing that caused Yuri to worry. She has never seen this side of Jessica before.
I think she's going through a rough time right now and she doesn't have anyone to talk to but me. Yuri thought.
"Don't be sorry." Yuri shook her head and looked at her worryingly. "I'm ready to hear whatever you have to say, Sica. Although you reminded me that this is simply a friendly lunch, you have no idea how much this means to me. So please, get comfortable. Don't ever think about ruining the mood because you won't, okay? I'll listen." Yuri reassured Jessica.
She can't really talk to Krystal in person since she's far from her so Jessica figured it won't be bad to tell Yuri the truth. "This might or might not come off as a surprise but...you notice how I act towards Taeyeon, right? You even questioned the way I care for her."
"Right."
"Well, I..." Jessica found it hard to say the words and keeps on tapping her fingers on the table but Yuri managed to help her out.
"You like her?"
Upon hearing the question, Jessica could only look down on her plate at first. "Please, don't tell Tiffany."
"I won't." Yuri told her truthfully. It hurts her knowing Taeyeon is living the life she wants to have but she's glad Jessica is finally opening up to her. "I was actually surprised to know that Fany would like her back. I think it all happened so fast but we never know what goes on between them. After all, they've known each other for years."
"It didn't occur to me it would be possible for them to..." Jessica couldn't utter the word but Yuri clearly understood what she meant.
Silence occurred for a while, both of them not knowing what to say next. Yuri, being the bigger person, knows she has to lead the talk or else there would be no conversation between the two of them since Jessica wouldn't.
"It must be hard for you to keep seeing them while keeping what you truly feel to yourself." Yuri sympathized with her as she plays with her food. "I'm sorry that you have to deal with that."
"Well, it's not like I can do anything about it. As much as I want her to see me, she's clueless from the beginning." Jessica laughed dryly making Yuri stare. The girl tries so hard to appear fine but she can see within her. She knows how hurt she must've been.
"That midget doesn't know how lucky she is." Jessica notice how intensely Yuri is looking at her but she can't say anything. She then felt a hand on hers causing her to be a bit surprised. "If you'd let me, Sica, I can be he
