Eighteen
Her
"Hey." Taeyeon greeted upon seeing the one standing in front of her.
"Can I talk to you?" Tiffany asked and Taeyeon just lets her in without saying anything. She didn't expect Tiffany to show up today, especially to have a talk with her. Maybe because of what happened yesterday, Tiffany gained confidence to face her.
Tiffany sat on Taeyeon's bed before breaking the silence. "How have you been doing these days?"
"I'm fine. I've been busy." Taeyeon knew Tiffany wouldn't buy that excuse but she said it anyway. "How about you?"
Tiffany doesn't know how to answer that. It's been an extra hectic week for her especially there's not a day that she didn't think of Taeyeon. "Honestly, I don't know." Taeyeon then took a seat beside her.
"The apartment feels so empty without you, you know?" Tiffany's voice weakened and it hurts Taeyeon to hear it. Tiffany definitely misses her. "But it looks like you've been doing fine without me." she lets out a fake chuckle.
"You know that's not true." Taeyeon nonchalantly told the other girl. "I just want you to reach out first."
"I'm sorry."
"For what?" Taeyeon wants to hear what she's specifically apologizing for.
"For ing about your feelings for me." Tiffany looked at her in the eyes. "I was caught up in the moment. I didn't mean to hurt you." Taeyeon went silent again."You know I can't bear to lose you, Tae."
"Since when did you know about how I feel for you?"
"I feel like I always knew. I just didn't want to address it." Tiffany confessed. "I don't want you to feel awkward around me so I let it be. Too bad, you had to know that I know about it in the worst way possible."
"If you always knew...then does that mean that the things you do for me are all just for play? Have you been leading me on?"
"No." Tiffany quickly denied. "Don't you ever think that. I've always been genuine to you, those are real. I'm not making fun of your feelings for me."
This time, Taeyeon finally had the gut to look back at Tiffany. "That doesn't change the fact that you believed him over me."
"Taeyeon..." Tiffany couldn't utter any word other than Taeyeon's name. She knew she was hurting Taeyeon but she still can't put her above her boyfriend.
"Tell me..." Taeyeon spoke softly yet full of intense. Tiffany had never seen this look on her eyes before. "Is he worth more than our friendship?"
"Taeyeon, please, that's not fair. You know I would never choose-" Tiffany was cut off.
"If you think that I would reconcile with him, well, sorry to disappoint you, I won't. We weren't even friends to start with." Taeyeon lets out a fake chuckle. "That's got to be the most stupid thing I'll ever do." Tiffany kept on shaking her head, close to crying. Pleasing Taeyeon right now is harder than she thought.
"I just need to hear it from you, Tiffany. Say you're sorry for choosing to believe him." Taeyeon looked intensely into her eyes in hopes that Tiffany would finally say the words she really wanted to hear from her.
Tiffany stood up and lets out a deep breath. "Maybe coming here was a mistake." she starts walking towards the door but Taeyeon's next words made her stop.
"Once you walk out that door, consider our friendship done." Taeyeon must've been really rageful for her to say these words. She wasn't screaming nor saying those words out loud but they sure do speak for her. Tiffany thought.
That's when Tiffany felt
