It was only the night that Taehyung was able to sleep peacefully after he had the chance to stay with Joohyun for the rest of the night once again.

It may be difficult for Joohyun to detach herself from the sleeping Taehyung but she managed. She was thankful that he was able to sleep calmly despite that she didn’t as the thought of him saying ‘surviving without you’ kept her awake the whole night.

The founder of the industries was pre occupied of the thoughts of Taehyung that she didn’t listen to the explanation of the construction company who are trying their best to defend themselves from the incident that happen at the food streets.

“Doctor Bae?” Siwon mentioned her name twice before she responded. “Any thoughts?”

“Well, I would say that their explanations are reasonable.” She said confidently.

“Kamsamnida Doctor Bae!” The engineer exclaimed as if he was about to cry.

“But, there’s no other way that the high voltage that was present in that location was caused by any power plant failures.” Joohyun said. “The only possible for this to happen is due to the high voltage that traveled from the cords underground and it caused explosion.”

“What!?” The engineer asked her again but she displayed an expressionless eye contact with him which caused him to feel insulted so he walked towards her and splashed a glass of water on her face. “You’re just saying that because we do better than the industries’ construction firm! And you’re taking advantage of this situation!”

Joohyun calmly took out a handkerchief to gently wipe her face and luckily the engineer couldn’t go further since the military personnel blocked his way to Joohyun.

“No one does better than the product of industries. Your clients are just broke and cheap that only your services are the only things that they could afford.” She confidently said. “Anyway, It will be a pleasure to fix the food streets for free. If there’s no more concerns I would like to make my way home now.”

“No! take back what you have said!” The engineer said.. “You can’t publicize this findings and if you must please let us make up from our mistakes.” He kneeled at Siwon.

“This already caused as a lot of criticism and embarrassment from the people.” Siwon responded without making an eye contact. “Don’t worry, we will still see each other at court.”

“No! andwe jaebal!” He kneeled and begged for another chance but the high officials have decided and none of them wouldn’t want to let go of Joohyun’s free offer.

Joohyun ignored everyone at the meeting hall, even those people who showed respect by bowing at her 90 degrees.  Reaching the exit of the meeting hall she noticed that there are lots of reporters occupying the lobby that are so eager to at least get any statement from her.

“Doctor Bae we will assist you to your room.” The hotel guard offered as he maintained a professional distance from her.

“Yah! Bae Joohyun!” One of the staffs from the Engineering department yelled rudely. Learning that their company will be doomed after what Joohyun have said, he pulled out a gun and didn’t even think twice to shoot her.

By just hearing the sound of the gun made her flinched reflexively, covered her ears and shut her eyes. Before the guards could even block Joohyun and pull their gun as well, Taehyung appeared in front of them gazing strongly at the bullet approaching them and when Joohyun opened her eyes, everyone was amazed how the bullet suspended in air in seconds and was dropped.

“Tae!” Joohyun worriedly called him.

Taehyung sharply gazed at the man and he didn’t think twice shooting him as well. He was directly shot at his chest, stomach, arms and shoulders but he didn’t mind it. He strangled him using his one hand but he’s getting weaker because of the blood dripping from his body.

But before he could choke to death the staff, he became unconscious and the staff was shot by the guards causing him not to harm Taehyung more.

“Call the ambulance!” Ji eun yelled in command.

Joohyun was froze, she wanted to approach Taehyung but the guards forcefully dragged her inside the safest room they could secure her.

“Doctor Bae are you alright?” Ji eun asked her as she barged inside her room.

“Where is Taehyung? Is he fine? Please tell me he’s alright.” Joohyun begged as she started to cry.

“We haven’t heard anything from the hospital but we were able to get him inside the ambulance.” Ji eun assured her. “I apologized this has to happen Doctor Bae.”

“Joohyun are you alright?” Siwon worriedly barged in as well inside the secured room.

“I am fine!” She yelled at him. “How could the presence of a military personnel let this happen?”

“I am sorry. No one expected this to happen.” Siwon apologized. “Anyway a craft from your island has arrived to pick you up.”

“No I am staying.” Joohyun said.

“We will not let you stay. You’re not safe here.” Siwon insisted.

Joohyun was able to convince to get back to the island after an hour of debate, as soon as the craft landed on her floor’s balcony. She ordered Wendy to delete any footage from Ji eun’s hotel.

“You mean.. he used his powers even if you already ordered him not to?” Wendy asked for clarification.

“He’s going to be alright unnie.” Seulgi said.

“I want to see him.” Joohyun said out of nowhere.

“Unnie, your life was in danger just about an hour ago and you are deciding to leave?” Joy told her. “We’re not letting you do that.”

Joohyun tears just fell down as she witness in her own eyes how Taehyung took the bullets for her.

“Unnie you need to rest first. Refresh your mind.” Yeri said. “Isn’t it your thoughts and feelings are connected to him? If you’re feeling that way you’re just making him feel troubled.”

“That’s right. I am not helping him.” Joohyun said. “Joy, I need something for me to sleep.”

“Sure. I’ll be back with that.”

Joohyun managed to sleep after Joy handed her some pills to help her. Walking out from her floor, Seulgi suddenly excused herself and run away from them.

“What do you mean he’s missing!?” Seulgi met Jimin at the front of the hospital where he thought Taehyung was delivered.

Ji euen is also with him and she couldn’t help but to feel ashamed of what happen. “I—“

“Ji eun ssi, where is he? Wasn’t he with someone else when he was placed in the ambulance?

“I was certain that he was with a staff of mine but I couldn’t reach his phone.” Ji eun said.

After hospital hopping the three decide to go to the police station. “I guess this is our last hope. If he was shot more than twice he should’ve atleast sent to the nearest hospital.”

“and yet we couldn’t find him.” Ji eun said.

“Let me clarify once again. You’re looking for a missing person but you don’t want his personal information and photo be posted online?” The police officer asked them once again.

“Yes.” Seulgi said.

“Well, Professor this is the only way we could find a missing person. You know in old times we post photos on walls or on posts so..”

“I am getting what you meant officer. You just wanted this request to be easy.” Seulgi said.

“Who doesn’t want that?” the officer asked her.

“Alright if we can’t post his picture online then at least his personal information?” Ji eun suggested. “That’s the only way we could find him.”

“Fine.” Seulgi was left with no choice but to agree to that.

“His information will be posted after 24 hours we’ll call and confirm it if he’s still missing. For the mean time we will send a team to any hospitals where could he possibly be.

After settling their concerns, Ji eun couldn’t help but to ask “Why aren’t we allowed to post his photo on internet?”

Seulgi pursed her lips before she could answer. She realized she was carried away with the situation that she didn’t notice that there are some things that should be kept hidden.

“Well, in the island we have these people called ground inspectors. Their main role is to gather information with the products that the island is producing in a certain place. They shouldn’t be known by anyone or their information shouldn’t be disclosed to anyone.” Seulgi explained.

“Oh so that’s the reason why he’s close to you.” Ji eun said. “Don’t worry your secret is safe with me.” She assured them.

Seulgi and Jimin arrived home and Taeyeon made them some hot tea. Jimin placed his hand over Seulgi. “It’s going to be alright. Taehyung might not be the strongest among us but his skill is way too excellent than us.”

“I hope so. More than him missing, I am worried about Joohyun Unnie as well. If she founds out…” She stopped with a heavy sigh. “We’re not going to tell her.”

“We won’t?”

“Until we found him.” Seulgi said. “Joohyun unnie isn’t in a good condition right now.”

“Alright, we’ll keep it for now.” Jimin agreed.

On the other hand, Joy is currently busy in her health lab interpreting some findings with Jungkook’s condition when Min ring her floor.

“Hey, you might want to read this.” Min said and drop a folder on her desk.

Taking off her gloves, she opened the folder and the title just made her eyes wide “Someone falsified our study?” She asked.

“Oh yes he did.” Min confirmed.

Shifting to the last page To be concluded, the subjects of the study only responded in placebo effect not into full treatment due to lack of scientific evidence and basis of the study.

Jin just learned that Taehyung is still missing after receiving the message from Jimin. He knew he couldn’t leave the island since the sun is still shining brightly so he kept himself on his phone while exchanging text with Jimin.

“Yah!”Joy barged in his lab and slammed the folder that she just read on his desk.

“What?” He asked.

“Did you really falsify my study?” She asked him firmly.

“Yes I did. When it will be published?” Jin asked.

“We will not publish this one.” Joy said. “My treatment is effective and no scientific basis was needed to prove this because almost all of the subject gave a positive feedback on this!”

“That’s why I input a scientific evidence to prove that your study is a complete placebo.” Jin confidently said as he placed his phone down. “It is pure psychological.”

“It’s not!”

“It is!” Jin firmly said. “People from this island are like gods and goddesses outside here and receiving a treatment from you made the subjects release a happy hormone which alters the sensation of pain that makes them relief after providing such treatment.”

“That’s not true.”

“Oh yea? Then how come musculoskeletal concerns couldn’t be treated by infrared therapy alone?” Jin asked her.

“Yes, it doesn’t but it helps!” Joy confidently said but she was about to stutter.

“But they can be treated without it.” Jin confidently said as well.

“Was this your plan?” Joy asked. “I just found out how you were able to get a residency here.”

“I have to admit that product was excellent but you can’t do this to me. Of all the things that you can kill your time in research why my study?”

“Because the study is wrong and it has to be proven wrong.” Jin said taking off his uniform.

“Uhm… here? Right now?” Joy expression suddenly changed.

“What?” Jin looked at her from head to toe. “I have to go there’s some things I need to mind more than your rants.”

Joy wondered since when did Jin was able to look her in the eyes without getting aroused. “I am coming with you.”

Jin wouldn’t want her to come but as soon as they reached the building’s lobby, the sun was shining up brightly causing Jin to step backward and think twice.

“You sure you wouldn’t want me to come with you?” Joy asked.

He was left with no choice but to ride in Joy’s private craft that send them to the rooftop of his building. “you live here?’ She asked.

“Yes.” Jin said and quickly jumped out from the craft.

It was too late for Joy to realized that her ex boyfriend was just living right in front of the building where she is and when she tried to raise the blinds from Jin’s room she saw Sungjae kissed his wife Chorong before he entered his car.

Jin just came out from his wardrobe and notice the changes from Joy’s expression which he didn’t know why made him feel worried as well.

“You alright?” Jin asked.

Joy nods and obviously faked a smile. “Nice home by the way. I think I should go now.”

Before Joy could reach the hinge knob of his door, “Professor Joy, thank you for the ride I really appreciate it.”

“No worries.” She said but she refused to turn the hinge knob when she realized that the reason why she came with Jin was because she wanted to tag along to further observe his behavior.

“By the way, what made you hurriedly go home in the middle of working hours?” Joy asked him.

“Taehyung is missing.” Jin told her directly.

That’s when Joy realized she should’ve checked her messages from her contacts and she confirmed from Seulgi that Taehyung is really missing and Joohyun shouldn’t be aware of it.

It was also a bad idea to look and search for him in the whole city and the hospitals because they already did.

Everyone waited and waited until the night comes. Wendy and Seulgi arrived at the subjects home and installed a tracking app from their phones just in case if it happens again it will be prevented.

“You know we couldn’t wait like this forever. We should have something to eat and drink.” Joy suggested. “Wait here.”

“I’ll come with you.” Jin volunteered.

They walk together to reach the chicken stall where Joy usually eats when she visits Seoul. “Here’s your order, bags of barbecue and sour cream chicken and also a bag of rw chicken.”
