In our dorm.

"Why are you doing this? You know that I like you and I'm falling for you," I croaked. I'm trying to keep my tears back.

"You know Taeyeon that we can't be together, I'm your pet. Our relationship is just master and pet. Nothing more than that," she flatly said.

"I don't care about that."

"But I do, I'm just here for my mission," she reminded.

" the mission!"

"I'm sorry."

"And you really like Nick?" I asked irritated. "You keep showing how close you are to him right in my face after I confessed to you. Really Tiffany?"

"I like him, he's a nice guy and I'm genuinely comfortable with him," she answered.

My heart clenched hearing that.

"Yeah right, you're like a clingy girlfriend," I sarcastically replied.

My heart beats faster like it would burst anytime soon.

"What about me? I thought you like me," I'm hopeless. It feels like I'm begging or asking her to like me back.

"Where did you get that? I never said that I like you." She scoffed. But it's true, she never told me that.

"The kiss."

"I'm sorry Taeyeon but it was your request."

"But I felt it Tiffany, you have feelings for me too," I forced. I'm desperate .

She shook her head "I'm like that because it was also my first kiss but I'm sorry if I gave you mixed signals. I'm sorry for leading you on, it was not my intention."

My tears escaped from my eyes like a waterfalls. I couldn't control the pain. It's too much to endure. 

It feels like Tiffany is completely different person now. 

"So yeah... you don't like me Tiffany. I get it now. You also don't care about my feelings," I said as I wiped my tears. I'm not mad, I'm hurt.

Tiffany's blank face turned to a worried face. I feel like she's pitying me, I don't like it. Of all feelings? Why's that? 

"Taeyeon," she stepped forward to me but I gestured her to stop.

"No Tiffany... stop." I paused for few seconds. "Don't worry I understand, I really do and I'm not mad." I managed to say.

She frowned.

"And please don't come near me. Not now..." She's breaking my heart. It's not her fault, I gave myself false hope. I'm such a delusional dumb.

My stomach lurched and there's something that blocks my breathing. 

. I realize how pathetic I am.

"But there's one more thing that I have to tell you..." I took a deep breath "I thought you were my friend, not just a pet."

Tears keep streaming down my face, I just let it out. I need to let it out. This is all I can do, what a shame.

"Taeyeon..." Her rueful expression was all over her features.

"So everything that you showed me was just part of your mission," I bitterly assumed.

"H-huh?"

"I was never your friend, you're just treating me as your master. Nothing more," I emphasized the last two words. That's what she said. We're just master and pet. Nothing more than that.

I should have known this from the start, she's just being nice because she's my grandma's pet.

"Well you don't have to force yourself Tiffany, you don't have to be nice to me so I won't receive mixed signals from you." My hands curled into fists. I'm mad because it's not her will. That's why she's excited to be free. She's doing something against her will.

"No Taeyeon, you are a friend. It's not what I mean-"

"It's okay Tiffany, I will find someone to fall in love with so you will be free."

"Taeyeon please, don't be like this. Don't be mad at me."

"I'm not mad at you. I can't," I sighed. "And now, I understand everything."

"No... you don't understand. Please..." She pleaded. I can see tears are forming in her eyes.

"I understand." I'm starting to calm down. "And as your master, I'm letting you free. I know you still have to finish your mission but I want you to do what you want now. Don't force yourself Tiffany."

"Taeyeon... no..." Her tears are running down her cheeks. She looks fragile now. I want to hug and comfort her. It's my fault why she's suffering like this.

We're forcing her to do whatever we want even if it's against her will. It's unfair to her.

"I'm sorry Tiffany."

I turned to my side "You are free now," then I walked out of our dorm.

This is my first heartbreak but I need to move on fast and find someone to love. Not for the sake of me but for Tiffany.

I want her to be free.

I always want her to be happy.
