“Jaeha, there's a box for you,” Youngjae gently knocked on the door of her bedroom.

Only a few seconds later, the girl opened the door and looked at him with furrowed brows.

“What box?”

“It came by the mail, it's on the kitchen counter.”

She left her room and walked toward the kitchen, finding indeed the big box covered with tape. She curiously took a look at it, wondering what could it possibly be since she wasn't expecting anything and she opened it not without struggling a bit because of the tape. Inside it, she found a shoebox from an expensive American brand and there was also another box, a bit smaller, from a famous French cosmetic brand. Her smile grew wilder as she finally realized who could have possibly sent something like this to her and when she found a pink letter and saw the messy Korean writing, it only confirmed her thoughts.

Hello my baby Jae,

Sorry I couldn't send you this earlier, I had to wait to be back to China because hell, it cost so much money to send it from France so there it is, a bit late but what matters is that you have it. I hope you'll like, but I'm sure you will: I chose only things you've talked to me about. But if there's something wrong just tell me, I'll send you something else. I hope you're doing great. I had your dad over the phone the other day, he said you were fine but tired. You know, you can miss school if you're too tired, I won't mind (don't tell Jaebum I've written this, he'll kill me for influencing his daughter). Anyway, I'll try to come and see you by the end of May if I can, but I can't be sure yet. Don't worry though, I'll call you before. I love you much much, take care of you okay?

Jaeha grinned like an idiot, her cheeks hurting from being stretched for too long and she couldn't help but squealed internally. Jackson had always been the perfect uncle and once again, he was proving he was: he didn't need to buy her expensive things though or to buy her things at all, just reading a letter from him was enough to make her feel better. She took her time to open the box, to try the perfect red shoes and to enjoy the floral fragrance of the skin cares he had sent her while Youngjae watched her do so with an amused smile.

“I guess it is from Jackson, right?” he chuckled.

“It is, look at that,” she told him while pointing at her new shoes which she already loved a lot and which were indeed the shoes she had wanted to buy a few weeks ago, “he knows me so well it's almost scary. I'm sure even my father doesn't know me this well.”

“Jaeha...” Youngjae sighed, “don't say that, you know it's not the truth.”

“It's partially the truth, you can't say the contrary.”

He opened his mouth to answer but gave up and just shook his head, resuming his cooking. Jaeha quickly moved her stuff in her bedroom and came back to the kitchen to jump on the counter, settling herself here with her her legs swinging back and forth.

“When is dad supposed to come back?” she asked.

“Hum... by midday he should be here,” Youngjae said after checking the hour on the oven.

“Where is he?”

“Appointment with the banker or something like that.”

“Oh... alright,” she nodded and looked at her phone in her hands, sending a few text messages to Yugyeom whom she hadn't seen at all during this week and she then sent a text to her uncle to thank him and even added a picture of her shoes still at her foot in the message.

You can't even see me...

No need, I know you're always pretty anyway ;)

She laughed and ignored Youngjae's wondering gaze. Right when she was about to answer him again, her phone started buzzing which startled her since she wasn't expecting a call and even less from Park Jisoo. The two girls weren't really friends but more like acquittance from the university since they were in the same course but they weren't talking outside of the school. They were only calling and sending each other messages whenever it concerned classes or work. And since it was a Saturday, Jaeha couldn't understand why was the other girl calling. Yet, she picked up.

“Hello?”

“Jaeha? It's me, Jisoo. Am I bothering you?”

“No not at all, don't worry. What's up?”

“It's about the forum, are you going?”

“What forum?” Jaeha frowned, “I've never heard about something like this...”

“You did! The forum! You know! We're going to introduce our course to the potential new students and our parents can come to visit the campus!”

“Oh! This! I have forgotten about it. I should be coming, yes, when is it?”

“On Thursday.”

“All day long?”

“Yeah.”

“Aish,” Jaeha cursed, “my dad must be busy... Listen, Jisoo, I'll ask my dad and I'll call you again later, do you mind?”

“Not at all, take your time.”

“Thanks, talk to you later!”

“See you.”

Jaeha hung up and looked at Youngjae.

“Do you know if dad is working on Thursday?”

“He should be, yes. Why?”

“There's this forum at the uni and our parents can come... dad said he wanted to meet my teachers the other day, it could be the perfect occasion for him.”

“Wait until he is back to ask him.”

“I'll call appa before.”

She quickly dialed her father's number and Jinyoung answered after the second ringing.

“Jaeha? How are you?” he asked, worry making his voice trembling.

“I'm fine, appa, I just have a question.”

“Oh,” he sighed, apparently relieved, “tell me.”

“What are you doing on Thursday?”

“Thursday? Wait...” he hummed during a few seconds and behind him, Jaeha heard Mark telling him something she couldn't catch, “oh that's right, Mark and I are going to Jeju-do, we're leaving on Monday and we'll be back on Saturday.”

“Oh... really? Well, it doesn't matter, just enjoy your trip.”

“Is it important? Do you want me to stay and to come and see you?” her father asked.

“No don't worry! It is really not important at all! Don't worry appa!”

“You tell me Jae, if there's something which matters I'll come, alright?”

“It'll be fine.”

They exchanged a few more words, Jinyoung asked her if she had had a good week and what she was planning to do during her week-end but quickly their call came to an end.

“Is he working?” Youngjae asked her.

“No, he is going to Jeju-do with his boyfriend... that ... but it doesn't really matter...”

She left the kitchen counter and walked toward her bedroom.

“I'll just go alone.”

“Oh.”

She disappeared in her bedroom and Youngjae carried on his cooking while hoping Jaebum wouldn't be working on Thursday so that he could go with Jaeha. He told himself to ask him as soon as he was back home, seeing how Jaeha seemed bothered by going alone, but quickly the girl went out of her bedroom again.

“Hey, Youngjae?”

“Hum?” he smiled and looked at her.

“What are you doing on Thursday?”

“Me?” she nodded, “well... I have classes on morning and nothing on the afternoon. Why?”

“Well...” Jaeha sighed and he swore he saw her cheeks turning pink, “I thought that maybe... you know... you could come with me at the uni... for the forum... plus you're a literature teacher so it should be a bit interesting, b-but if you don't want to come, it's alright! I don't want to bother you with my stuff, especially school stuff and-”

“I'll come,” he grinned, “I'll come with you don't worry.”

“Oh, thanks.”

She politely bowed her head to thank him and went back in her bedroom. The moment Jaebum came back, Youngjae jumped on him to tell him he was going with Jaeha to the forum. He excitedly clapped into his hands and his chubby cheeks were hurting from smiling too much.

“Can you believe it? She asked me to go with her! Well, she obviously thought of you and her father first but then she asked me!”

“Well, that's great,” Jaebum laughed, “it's a good thing... I guess.”

“I'm just so happy right now! I have no idea what's going to happen and what I'm going to do there but I'm already excited!”

And seeing Youngjae being this happy from just a simple little thing couldn't make Jaebum feel more happier. And he also couldn't help but wondering what had happened to Jaeha for her to ask Youngjae to come with her. He made a mental note to ask her some day, but since he didn't want to ruin his boyfriend's mood for now, he remained silent.

What is going to happen in the next chapter? Well... you'll see! But this is going to be about Jaeha and Youngjae.

I hope you liked this chapter, it's kind of important obviously, Jaeha is asking Youngjae to take part of an event which concerns her and it will be only the two of them. But I won't say anything else, I don't want to spoil.
