No One’s POV

It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon and you could see that there are so many people walking along the streets. Some are busy on the phone. Some are busy walking their dogs. Some are even jogging to keep their body fit. It was just a simple Saturday where everybody tend to free their minds from all the problems and works or anything else in particular. Across the street, was where a small café was located. The café has some kind of vintage vibe that could make you feel like you’re living in the 1980’s.

Inside the café, sat a brown haired girl with a book in her hand. She sat at the left most corner of the café so she could get a little privacy and quiet time for herself. Even though it’s a café, there are still some people who are having chit chats among their friends. Thinking that those voices could ruin her reading concentration, is the reason why she chose a place where they are less people. She crossed her legs in an elegant way and ran her fingers through her hair while her eyes still fixing on the book she’s reading. And this lady’s name is-

“Miss Jung, here’s your coffee.”

A waiter suddenly came and placed the brown haired girl’s order on her table.

“Thank you” she smiled

And her name is Jessica Jung.

After the waiter left, Jessica placed her book down, took her cup of coffee and inhaled the sweet scent of the blended brewed coffee before sipping it. As she sipped her cup of coffee, she could feel that the taste slowly ran down . Damn, a good book with a great coffee is such a perfect combination, she thought. She placed the cup down and took the book again. Flipping it to the next page.

She was about to continue the read where she left when…

“Ah, it seems like it’s going to rain”

Jessica turned her head to where she heard one of the customer voiced out about the weather. Jessica looked outside the café and noticed that the weather turns cloudy. She then placed a bookmark on the page she was at and kept her book inside her bag. She stood up and fixed herself before sipping her coffee till’ the last drip. Jessica then rushed to walk out of the café, hoping that it wouldn’t rain so she could walk home safely. But too bad for her, as soon as she stepped out of the café, the rain started pouring.

She mentally cursed herself for not bringing an umbrella.

“Great. Just great” she muttered

She wanted to go home before the rain started pouring hard. But how could she when she doesn’t even have a freaking umbrella and she knows that walking home in this condition could make her sick.

Jessica sighed and thought of what must she do in order to go home safe and dry. Taking the bus? Well, the bus stop is across the street which is not helping. Taxi?  She’s not going to waste her money to ride a taxi when her apartment is just three blocks away. A raincoat? She hates walking under the rain looking like a person who is wrapped in a garbage bag. So, nope. Not going to happen.

Thinking like there’s no other choice, Jessica decided to just run as fast as she coul-

“Ehem. I don’t run, remember?”

Ah yes, my bad.

So um, Jessica decided to WALK as fast as she could to her apartment. Not minding that she’s going to be sick and drenched. Jessica inhaled deeply and exhaled loudly. But before she could step herself out in the rain…

“Hey!”

Jessica turned around when she heard someone’s voice. It was a tall girl and she had an umbrella in her hand.

“Yes?” Jessica answered

“Where are you going?” the girl asked

“Uh, home?”

“With the rain pouring down like this? Where’s your umbrella?”

“I…didn’t bring my umbrella” Jessica muttered shyly

The girl smiled and approached Jessica.

“Care for me to give you a ride?” the girl said

“You have a car?”

The girl shook her head. She chuckled before pointing at her own umbrella.

“With your umbrella?”

“Well, it’s better than nothing.” She smiled

“….”

“Besides, you said you don’t have an umbrella. And you’ll get sick if you walk under the rain in this condition. Don’t worry about me being a stranger. There’s a police station two blocks away, so I think that you’ll feel pretty safe around here” the girl continued

The girl’s right, Jessica thought. There IS a police station two blocks away from here.

“Well, I guess it’s better than being drenched.”Jessica smiled

Jessica immediately went beside the girl and stood under the same umbrella. Jessica smiled at the person before holding her bag in place since she doesn’t want her precious bag to get wet as well.

“Thanks” Jessica told her

“No problem. I’m just trying to help. Luckily that this umbrella is big enough for the two of us” the girl smiled

“Do you know that it’s going to rain?”

“No. I just happened to be in a store a while ago when I saw the rain pouring down. It’s a good thing that they sell umbrellas there, so I just got to buy one for myself”

“Ah, okay..” Jessica nodded

“Let’s go now, shall we? Where’s your house?”

“It’s three blocks away from here” Jessica pointed forward

“Okay then, just tell me when to stop”

They both then started walking and could hear the raindrops fall onto their umbrella. It was cold enough and they were both lucky that they’re wearing a trench coat.

There was an awkward silence between the two. The girl couldn’t stand such atmosphere so she decided to break the silence.

“So…what’s your name?” the girl started

“Me?” Jessica asked

“Is there anyone else beside me?” she giggled

“Tch” Jessica chuckled

“….”

“I’m Jessica. Jessica Jung”

“Ah… wait, Jung?”

“Why? You know me?” Jessica faced her

“No, that name sounded quite familiar. Because I ever heard the name Jung before during my high school years”

“Really? Which high school did you went?”

“Soshi High..” the girl replied

“I’m from Soshi High too!” Jessica exclaimed

The girl faced her and had a quite shocked expression.

“Don’t tell me you’re THE Jessica Jung”

“What do you mean ‘the’?” Jessica tilted her head

“The Jessica Jung, who is a captain of the Soshi High cheer squad”

“Ah yes, as quite embarrassing as it is but, that’s me.” Jessica smiled

“There’s nothing to be embarrassed about. But, wow, I can’t believe this”

“And…you are?”

“Oh, I’m Choi Sooyoung” she smiled

“Wait, Choi Sooyoung from the soccer team?”

Jessica faced her again with the same look Sooyoung has a while ago. So they knew each other?

“We don’t”

Ah, sorry.

So they actually knew each other’s existence.

“Thanks for the correction author-ssi”

You’re welcome..

Back to them, Jessica faced her with the same shocking kind of expression. Sooyoung raised her brows.

“Um, you know me?” Sooyoung asked

“Well, the soccer team were pretty much popular back then. You were the striker, if I’m not mistaken?”

“Yes I am.”

“Then yes I kind of know you, since you know, we’re cheering for YOUR team?” Jessica chuckled

“Ah, yes. Gosh, I must sound so silly” Sooyoung face palmed herself<
