No One’s POV

“Are you coming home?”

Jessica asked as she twirled the end of a hair while gripping her phone on her left ear waiting for the person on the other line to respond.

“I’m sorry Sica…” the other line sighed

“Is there really no other way?”

“You know I want to see you more than anything. But college had been pretty much kept me busy these days. My schedule is a bit hectic this week…”

“But Sooyoung, it’s my birthday…”

Jessica could hear Sooyoung hummed on the other line. Yes, Jessica birthday is in two days and she was hoping for the latter, which is currently miles and miles away from her to come back so they could celebrate together. Of course, Jessica is going to throw a huge birthday party celebration, but she wanted the person to be present as well. Besides, it has been months since they last met and Sooyoung did promised that she’ll come back as soon as she found time.

“I’m sorry babe… I really am”

Sooyoung said. Jessica could feel the guilt from Sooyoung by the tone of her voice. Jessica knew that Sooyoung might think that she’s been giving Jessica false hopes and constantly be disappointing her over a promise that she didn’t get to fulfill. But she didn’t want Sooyoung to think that way. As much as she is a tad bit disappointed that the latter couldn’t be there with her physically on her special day, she’s even more concerned about Sooyoung’s emotion that may bug her thoughts when she’s studying just because she couldn’t make her girlfriend happy. She also didn’t want Sooyoung to miss out on her important subjects

“It’s okay, I understand…” she replied

“I’m sorry… I know I disappoint you…”

“Baby, don’t say that. It’s okay, really”

“I know you’re not okay”

“….”

“I just…I really miss you, you know. And the fact that we’re so far away from each other is making me feel even guiltier. I know you’ve been waiting for me to be back yet all I did was disappointing you every now and then”

“Please don’t say that. I don’t want you to feel that way, Soo”

“….”

“I miss you too. So, so much…”

Sooyoung kept mum. Seconds later Jessica could hear Sooyoung heaving another long sigh. She knows that Sooyoung has a lot of things going on in her mind right now

“Baby?” Jessica called when Sooyoung wasn’t responding

“I’m here…”

“Try.…not to think a lot about it okay?”

“….”

“Soo…” Jessica fondly spoke

“Hmm…”

“I love you…”

Sooyoung could be heard smirking from the other line. And Jessica knew she said the right thing

“You always have your ways to make me smile!” Sooyoung chirped

“Wae? Is that wrong?” Jessica chuckled

“It is”

“How so?”

“Because you’re making the butterflies in my stomach gone wild”

“Ah, even miles away, you’re still cheesy” Jessica giggled

“Flirting with you is kind of my thing though. I like you” Sooyoung laughed

Jessica smiled at the latter’s statement. She brushed her fingers through her hair and lay flat on her stomach lazily on her bed, hugging her big fluffy teddy bear that Sooyoung gave her during Valentine’s Day.

“Of course you do. I’d kill you if you don’t” Jessica replied

“Heh”

“You still haven’t say it back”

“Say what back?” Sooyoung pretended to be clueless

“Soo~”

Sooyoung chuckled on the other line

“Hehe. Yes, I love you too babe…”

“How much?” Jessica smiled

“Ahh… You’re demanding”

“Come onnnnnnn”

Jessica whined as she bit on the poor teddy bear’s ear, smiling widely

“As much as you love your sleep”

Hell she’s obsessed with her sleep

“Happy now?” Sooyoung giggled

“Very much. Keke”

“Heh. So, how’s the preparation going?”

“It’s okay. Just that Tiff insisted on the theme to be pink. Kept reminding her that it was my birthday we’re talking about, not hers” Jessica chuckled

“She’s so weird with her pink obsession and all. Did you agree though?”

“Are you kidding? Of course not! What is this, a birthday party for a 7 year old girl?”

Sooyoung laughed on the other line

“Well, you always act like a kid whenever you’re talking to me”

“That’s a different issue” Jessica pouted

“Don’t pout. I’m not there to pinch you”

“Ooooh~  how did you know I was pouting?” Jessica teased

“I had CCTVs installed in your apartment to keep an eye on you”

“Creep”

Jessica squeezed her teddy bear, thinking it was Sooyoung’s face and how much affect she has on her. She smiled when she heard Sooyoung’s laugh. She loves Sooyoung so much. Too much. And Sooyoung is just the same as she is. No one can possibly understand their relationship

“Babe, I’m sorry. I have to go…” Sooyoung spoke through the line

“Already??” Jessica pouted

“Yeah… I got something to do. I’ll call you again tonight okay?”

“….”

“Babe…” Sooyoung called fondly

“Okay…”

“I’m sorry, I promise I’ll talk to you again. Don’t sulk please…?”

“Arasso Sooyoungie”

“That’s my girl~ I have to hang up now. I love you”

“I love you too”

And the call ended just like that. With Jessica feeling rather empty and a bit disappointed that Sooyoung won’t be there by her side when she blows her candles.

The hall was filled
