Chapter 15: Metamorphosis

I am somebody else’s story. The girl who served their drink, the person they pushed past on a crowded street, the one who broke their heart. I have happened in so many places, to so many people---the essence of me lives on in these nuances, these moments.

Yet never have I been bolder or brighter than I am with you, not once have I ever felt so alive. Whatever vessel we pour ourselves into, mine is now overflowing, b with life. It is transcending into something new.

Jiyong could hear the faint sound of Dara’s favorite song these days, “ahhh. She’s back.” He was still half-asleep on her bed, which he took the liberty to sleep on even though she’s still out of the country. He has been abusing his boyfriend privilege card but she really does not mind.

He loves her bed because it has her lavender apple scent all over the sheets. Even though it’s too bright for him, too pinky but very Dara. Even if he’s still groggy from sleep, he forced himself to get up and greet his ever-too busy woman.

Sandara Park is so into the music that she did not even hear Jiyong’s steps approaching her. He took it as a cue to spun her and let her tiny body crash in to him, caging her into his arms. It’s been too long. He smiled when he felt her arms wrap around him too. “Finally”

“I love you!” he heard her whisper and cradled her face on his shoulders, the effect of her warm breaths is enough to wake him. As if their hug was not tight enough to let them feel how they missed each other, Dara had to tilt her head to kiss his neck, which is ing game over for that boy GD.

Damn that MORNING WOOD. Ain’t that the mic you really miss noonim? The audacity of announcing it in public might as well call Dispatch and declare your love for each other then.

“Oh! Violent…you really want me to die a sudden death, my love.”he rasps, still not letting go of her.

They burst into chuckles. “I miss your smell…” she said.“I miss you!”

“Nadooooo.” Both their bodies responded to the lovely music. “You really like this song…” he said.

“It’s a cute song.” They let the song control their bodies, swaying to every rhythm while inhaling each other’s presence. How many days did he long for this serenity with her? He never knew he could miss her this much.

Jiyong’s long awaited break after 4 months of being on tour has finally come. These days, he only wanted to sleep, stay at home and be the normal Kwon Ji Yong. Scratch that…He wanted to stay home with Dara.

Must you ask why? Because Dara is love. Dara is home. Dara is everything for Kwon Jiyong. When she came back everything just became perfect, for the woman he loves never left him during the tough times of 2017, oopps, since whenever.

She was by his side during the Kwon Ji Yong second metamorphosis. Dara witnessed how he makes up the better version of himself. Nobody asked for him to do that, it’s just that Dara makes him want to be a better man. Told y’all Park Sandara is everything.

“You’re a good man, babe…” she assures. She never forgets to remind him everyday.

“Don’t. You do not need to. You being you is enough”

It’s not just about them looking good together. It’s not just about Sandara Park being a good woman, her love, their love rather, has been tested by time but with great depth, they always come up indestructible.

Whenever the public scrutinizes him. Sandara will always be the first to cry with him.

“Even when the whole universe turns it’s back on you, I’ll face your way Kwon Jiyong, smiling.” That did it. That’s when he felt like when everyone believes that nobody is perfect, he has the receipt in the name of Sandara Park to invalidate that old saying. She’s perfect.

He gave her a kiss on the lips, “Babe, you’re NOBODY.” Dara shot him a cute glare, “because NOBODY is perfect.”

“Jiyooooong!” It was lame but it made her blush.

“I think it’s a good one!” he retorted. “Noooo!” she replied as she scrunches her face. Jiyong can only laugh at her dorkiness and cuteness, who did he save in his previous life to be able to meet her?

“Alright miss sassy pants!”

He found a best friend in her too because Dara always listen to understand his inhibitions. He is a man with a lot dimensions and complexities, it was only her who did not judge him for it. People might think that Jiyong has a certain type, someone who parties a lot, someone who’s fun or someone who’s Japanese.

WRONG.

All he wanted was someone who would listen, as simple as Dara.

Here’s the thing, whether we like it or not, LOVE is a choice. It really becomes a choice when sparks are not flickering anymore. Love is that that will make you like feeling it especially at the early stages but it is a challenge.

When “I love you’s “become normal, you won’t feel giddy anymore unlike the first time you said those words or like the first time you hear those words. Just like pain, love can be normalised too. Love can make you numb, it can make you feel lots of emotions, because like pain it demands to be felt.

Love and Pain is like GD&Top or a GDYB collab they exist to destroy ~ Jokes but you get the gist. Love and pain will always be a legendary collaboration that can give you a perfect-all-kill, depends on how you would deal with it.

Dara and Jiyong’s love is not all soft…it has its rough edges and creases.

Stay with me through the ugliness it comes with. She has a choice to completely turn her back on him but strong woman Dara Park is not a weak binch. For years they've been fighting each other's battles, to-get-her.
