Every second, every minute that passed, felt like an eternity to you. 

You didn't even know how long it was until you heard frantic footsteps getting louder, until they skidded to a stop by your side.

You didn't care. 

'H-Hyewon, are you okay?' 

Jaebum has to be okay. He has to be. 

'Hyewon?'

You flinched when you felt someone's hand on your shoulder, the only scene playing in your mind was how you held his limp body in your hands before you were torn away from him.  

Mark shook his head silently as he pulled Youngjae further back, hoping to give you more space. 'But- Hyung-' 

On the other hand, your blood-stained hands didn't help with getting the image off your mind. 

'What happened?! How did hyung get into an accident?' Jackson shouted as soon as he reached, but got a glare from Mark instead and they immediately turned silent, watching you warily.

No matter how hard you shook him, how loud you called for him, there was no reaction. 

'Mark hyung, is Hyewon noona okay? She doesn't look fine to me...' Yugyeom whispered, none of them braveenough to take a step closer to you.

You said to talk to you if there's anything that is bothering me, so why aren't you replying me?

The boys started to panic as they saw your tears rolling down your cheeks. And when you soon started bawling, Youngjae didn't care anymore about 'giving you space'.

'Shhh, it'll be fine. You know how Jaebum hyung is, he'll be fine in no time.' Youngjae said gently as he hugged you, knowing that it probably wouldn't work, but still hoping for you to calm down at the very least.

'J-aebum, he promised n-not to leave me.'

'Exactly. So it's going to be okay Hyewon.'

'He c-can't do this to me-'

The last thing you remembered that wasn't red in colour, was black.

You were enveloped in complete darkness. 

That was before you woke up, scrunching at the bright white light around you. 

All you knew was that you felt powerless and heavy, and when the blinding light subsided, it dawned upon you that you were in a hospital room.

However, even if you were to be in a hospital room right then, you should be with Jaebum. 

But that wasn't the case. 

You squinted, hoping that your eyes were playing tricks on you. Yet the only person before you wasn't who you wanted it to be. 

'W-Where's Jaebum oppa?'

'Hyung got moved to the normal ward, though they still have to watch over him closely in case anything happens.'

'Then I have to go to see him-' You immediately tried to sit up, only to find his hands on your shoulders as he held you down gently. 'Youngjae-'

'You can't go anywhere right now.'

'W-What? Why? I have to accompany him, he'll be alon-'

'Hyewon, you have to stay here. Mark hyung is taking care of him right now.'

And that was when you finally realized that you were actually in a hospital gown, with a IV drip strapped to your hand. What on earth- I was perfectly fine-

'You need to rest. The doctor said so.'

'What happened? I thought I was-'

'You fainted, then they ran some checks and you were out for about slightly more than a day. Hyung went from the ICU to the normal ward so things will get better soon. You don't have to worry.'

It took you quite a while to digest what he just said, but you still could not comprehend the situation you were in. And his last line made you even more worried. 'I'm fine now. I can-'

'No you can't.' You froze when you saw Youngjae glaring at you, before his gaze softened right after. 'Noona, it's dangerous for both you and the baby if you continue doing this. I can't let you move around like this.'

W-What baby?

'Youngjae-ah, are you okay? J-Jaebum oppa got into a car accident- I don't know what I'm doing here but I have to go see him-'

'Hyewon, you're pregnant.' 

This kid must have got it harder than I thought, 'Youngjae-ah-' 

But before you could say anything else, a doctor interrupted you, and on cue, Youngjae took a step away from the bed. 'Oh you're awake, good. How are you feeling?' 

'What am I supposed to feel?'

You watched as the doctor looked at you, before turning to Youngjae. 'Does she not know yet?'

While the latter could only shake his head as he frowned. 'She doesn't believe it when I told her. All she wants is to go see Jaebum hyung right now.' 

Can they stop murmuring among themselves? I shouldn't be here when Jaebum is-

'Hyewon-ssi, I'll let you see your husband once you're done with this drip okay?' 

'Why do I have to?'

'It's just to provide you with the essential nutrients that your body is lacking. And for the baby too.'

He's talking about a baby again.

'It's too early for the symptoms to show yet so you wouldn't have known. After the checks when you fainted, we found out that it's only been three weeks, the early stages.'  

S-So, it's true? 'Three weeks?'

'Yes, you'll have to take good care of yourself for now, and calm down. Your husband will be fine too.'

'Has he woken up yet?'

'He'll wake up soon.'

'When?'

You could not help but to notice how the doctor hesitated before answering you, and how Youngjae was fidgetting by the side. 'Maybe within the next few days.'

'Maybe?' 

'You don't have to worry too much-'

'How am I not supposed to worry when you don't seem like you're telling me everything?' 

'You-' The doctor sighed, 'We- Jaebum-ssi is out of the danger zone, but we're not too sure when he'll wake up as the impact that struck him on the head was slightly strong.'

'You're not too sure...?'

'It might take a few days, even tomorrow, if we're lucky,'

'And if we're n-not?'

'Weeks or months.'

You bit onto your lip as you envision Jaebum lying in the hospital bed for the weeks to come, pale and still. And the machine next to you started beeping, announcing the sharp increase in your heartbeat.

'Hyewon-ah, you have to calm down. Think about it, hyung wouldn't want to see you sick when he wakes up, does he?'

He'll get angry if that happens.

'Wouldn't it be better if he woke up, to see you healthy and with good news? I'm pretty sure that hyung will start acting all silly again.'

And you finally let out a slight smile.

He'll probably be extremely silly with his grinning.

The doctor glanced briefly at the monitor, watching your heartbeat stabilise again before he addressed you. 'It'll just take about an hour more, then Youngjae-ssi can bring you to see your husband, will that be okay?'

'Okay. Thank you.'

For the following days, you stuck by his side the entire time with the others taking turns to accompany you, while Youngjae made sure that you still had the rest that you required.

However, that did not mean that you were clear from mood swings, and for a handful of times, you found yourself back in that other room with your hand strapped to another drip.

It was harder as the days passed by, and yet nothing seemed to change. But remembering to stay healthy for him managed to keep you sane for the time being. And hopefully long enough.

You annoying harabeoji, are you going to keep me and our baby waiting? You have to wake up to keep your promise don't you? ... I don't mind waiting, but our baby wants to hear his daddy too. 

You ran the wet towel gently over his arm, before reaching for his hand and linking your fingers through his. 

Look who's the one that is sleeping so much now hmm? The next time you ask me to get out of bed, I won't do it so easily-

You froze when you felt something twitch against your palm. And your immediately eyes shifted to his hands.

It came again, his grip on your hand tightening. 'J-Jaebum oppa?' 

'Is he awake?'

'Oppa, can you hear me? It's Hyewon.' You did not remove your eyes from him as you saw his eyebrows scrunching slightly, before his eyes slowly opened. 'Jaebum oppa?'

'I-I'll go get the doctor!'

'You don't have to worry, there isn't anything wrong with Jaebum for now, and he may have more visitors. But do remember to keep the volume down, and that he still have sufficient amount of rest.'

'So hyung is perfectly fine now? Is he going to start screaming at us already?'

'Yes he's healthy, but I think it might be good to postpone the screaming for a little while, so please do not agitate the patient.' The doctor answered Bambam, and you could tell that he was starting to regret allowing more visitors now. 'If there's anything that you need help with, do let me know?'

'Thank you!' You chirped, and the boys started crowding around the bed once the door closed.

'Hyung, how are you feeling?'

'Does it feel weird to wake up after sleeping for so long?'

'How long was I out for?' 

'About, five days? It wasn't too long.'

'But, I don't see Jinyoungie around?' Jaebum asked, after looking around the entire room a few times. 

And that question immediately wiped the smile off Mark's face. 'H-He had some family matters so he couldn't come.' 

'Oh, it must be quite serious then. I was just wondering why I haven't seen Jinyoung hyung at all these few days.' Yugyeom added. 

'Erm.' Finally, he looked at you. 'I've been wanting to ask this since just now. I'm sorry, but who are you?' 

'You were holding my hand when I woke up weren't you?' 

The boys and you froze. All of you.

'And you called me 'Jaebum oppa'?' 

He must not be serious. You opened your mouth slightly, but you could not seem to form any words.

'Hyung, do you really not remember noona?'

'Aren't you Jinyoung's friend?' That question. He directed the question at you. 'I don't think I heard Jinyoungie mentioning her name to me before so I'm not too sure...'

'Im Jaebum.' You saw how genuinely confused he look when Mark said his name sternly, but you didn't want to believe him. 'This isn't the slightest bit funny.' 

'Really Jaebum hyung. You shouldn't be doing this to Hyewon right now.' One by one, the boys were speaking up.

'Why? What did I do so wrong that all of you are staring at me like that?'

Silence. 

'I mean, shouldn't you be glad that I woke up?'

'We are glad, very glad indeed. But do you actually remember what happened?' Jackson asked.

'I got into a car accident?'

'How did you get into the car accident?'

'I just came back from overseas and I was heading to Jinyoung's place wasn't I?'
