Chapter Twenty-Seven
Angel Vessel
"Minji. Minji." Woohyun grabbed my face. I finally started to cry the tears I had so stubbornly tried to hold back. I didn't want to give the Reaper any satisfaction. "Save him. Save him." I finally managed over my choking tears. He looked at Myungsoo, face grave. I grabbed a handful of the front of his shirt to get his full attention.
"Save him. Please." I pleaded. He look conflicted. "I can't. I can't. I need to save my healing for you." He said. "No!" I shouted. "Save Myungsoo! Now!" I said hitting him in the chest. "I will hate you forever." I ground out and finally Woohyun looked away and went over to put his hands on Myungsoo's side. I saw the puddle of blood that had formed underneath my best friend and prayed that it wasn't too late.
I grabbed my fallen gun and trained it on the Reaper who had gotten up. He dusted himself off casually before meeting my eyes. I only managed to roll over and get on my knees but my hand was steady. "I will pump as many bullets as humanly possible into you if you even twitch." I said. Suddenly I heard the sound of a body falling and Woohyun was on the floor next to Myungsoo. The wound on Myungsoo had closed up, the bullets on the floor next to him, I felt my heart drop when blood spread along Woohyun's side, soaking his shirt. I knew what I had asked him to do, but at the same time I didn't understand exactly what I was asking. I had asked Woohyun to pull Myungsoo from the brink of death.
The Reaper laughed. "You are naive. You played right into my hands." He ran his hand through his dark hair laughing. I saw no sign of the angel he once was. It was just a sick twisted demon in front of me.
Suddenly he teleported and I felt someone behind me. I tried to turn, but a strong kick from him sent me sprawling forward. I used my hands to break my fall but I still winced at the jolt through my wrists and knees. My gun went flying into the darkness. His foot landed on my back. "It fascinating that you think you can beat me." He said, amused. He leaned down and grabbed a handful of my hair as he put his mouth near my ear. "Let's have some fun." He said.
"Is that what you told all those girls you killed?" I asked and I pushed away from him, even though it felt like my hair was being yanked out by its roots and kicked out as his legs. I nailed a kick to his right shin, but he scoffed and my ears rang when he slammed my head against the floor. I coughed in pain. "." He growled. So he didn't like it when his prey fought back too hard. Even in pain, I felt a sense of satisfaction for wiping the smirk off his face. I was facing where Myungsoo and Woohyun were lying. I didn't know if it was my eyes playing tricks on me but I saw Woohyun's fingers twitch.
"Pay attention Minji." The Reaper said and I felt his foot come down on my wrist. I heard the crack of my wrist and I bit my lip so hard it bled. I didn't want to give him any satisfaction, but a whimper escaped my lips. Even though I was held against a cold concrete floor, it felt like my body was on fire.
I felt him sit on the back my legs and cool air hit my back as he started to rip my blouse. "Oddly submissive, aren't you?" He said with amusement in his voice. I tried to swing around and hit him but he grabbed my wrist. "Do you want me to break this one too?" He asked, dark eyes glistening dangerously. He was high on power.
"No. I'm better from the front." I twisted my hand to grab his wrist and even though my broken wrist screaming in pain, I grabbed both his shoulders and pulled him towards me and slammed my forehead into his. The recoil had me dizzy and my visioned darkened around the edges for a split second. It probably wasn't a good idea to head two people in the same day even if I was always told I was hard headed.
He hadn't been expecting me to do it and I saw the pain on his face. He slammed his elbow into the side of my face as he rolled off me.
"You are a feisty one." One of his hand grabbed his forehead and his free hand started to glow red. "Maybe it's not a good idea to keep playing around too long." He said. "No. It's not." I said the same time as someone else.
He was so focused on me that he didn't see someone materialize behind him and I laughed despite my throbbing cheek when Sunggyu slammed his red glowing hand into the Reaper's back. I saw the surprise on the bastard's face.
