so enjoy the story and oh thanks for all the comments. i really enjoy reading them, and forgive me if my reply to your comment is so bored cuz sometimes i dun know what to reply xd

Sunggyu was wandering in the supermarket. He cautiously calculated the prices of the grocery in his mind, checking if he could get the grocery of best quality with the lowest price. He walked past the food section and began to wonder what he was going to eat for dinner tonight. Though Woohyun was the one who was in charge of cooking dinner, obviously he didn’t prepare the ingredients. And based on the traumatizing experience during lunch, there was no way that he would allow Woohyun to cook, at least not without the supervision of Sunggyu. Sunggyu thought for a moment. Perhaps he would tell Woohyun to cook something easier tonight, maybe kimchi fried rice and egg rolls. Maybe Sunggyu would get to help Woohyun in the kitchen. He didn’t want him to poison him and his sister, nor did he want his sister having instant noodle again.

He had stayed in the supermarket for almost an hour before he could load all he needed to buy into the shopping cart. He needed to control the budget for the grocery as he didn’t want to add further financial burden to his mother. He smiled at the grocery in the cart. This should be enough for a week. He pushed the cart full of grocery and headed to the cashier.

There was a long queue in the cashier. Probably most of the people bought things at this time, perhaps for preparing dinner. Sunggyu waited for like fifteen minutes before he was glad to see that he was the next one for payment. When he saw the person in front of him finish off his payment and leave with his bags of things, he felt a tap on his shoulder. Curiously, he turned his head, finding a woman, whom he didn’t know, ask him in a hurry.

“Um…excuse me. But could you let me do the payment first? I’m quite in a hurry. It won’t take you much time cuz I only need to buy this packet of sugar.” The woman was holding the packet in her hand, her eyes pleading Sunggyu.

Sunggyu simply nodded without speaking anything, and he signaled the woman to get in front of him. Well, he was not in a hurry as there’s still much time before he needed to prepare dinner, unlike the woman, who seemed to be really in a hurry.

“Thank you so much. You’re a kind teenager.” The woman smiled with gratitude, and proceeded to the cashier, before she ran out of the supermarket quickly after the payment.

Sunggyu held the bags of grocery in both of his hands, walking back home, which should take him about 20 minutes. Despite being already late afternoon, the sun was still shining ferociously, and Sunggyu was already sweating heavily. He kind of regretted of buying so many things at one time alone without help of others. His arms were already sore in taking that many bags of grocery for a few minutes, especially when one bag was a packet of 8-kg rice. He was struggling to continue walking when something caught his eyes. It was a piece of paper that was stuck on the glass window of a café. Sunggyu approached the café to take a closer look of the paper.

Café looking for part-time assistan, needed immediately. Day-shift or night-shift.6000 won/hour.

Sunggyu glanced at the content. 6000 won/hour. The café was quite close to his house, and it’s not a bad pay for a summer job, especially for Sunggyu who had no job experience. Sunggyu decided to walk into the café and give it a shot, hoping to get the job.

“Eoseooseyo!(어서오세요.)” Sunggyu heard a woman’s voice when he entered the café. He believed that the woman should be the owner of the café. He walked to the counter, and found the woman putting the cup and turning to him. Sunggyu found her familiar and he remembered meeting her somewhere, before the woman greeted him with a smile.

“Oh hi, you’re that kind teen just now in the supermarket, right? I’m still so thankful that you let me pay first, or else my customers would have waited for a long time. So, you’re here for a cup of coffee?”

“Um…actually I’m here to…um…hope to get the part-time job here…”Sunggyu whispered, barely heard by the owner.

“Okay. So you’re here for the job. Alright. Do you have any previous job experience?” The woman was still smiling to Sunggyu, who shook his head. “It’s okay. Job experience is not a must. But we hope to find someone who is diligent and punctual for their work.” The woman then handed him a form and a pen. “Just fill in the form here for some basic personal information. So which shift are you taking? Day or night?”

“Day-shift.” Sunggyu replied with a low voice, while taking the pen to fill in the form the woman just gave him. He was a bit stunned for the moment, because he thought there would be some kind of lengthy and formal interview before getting the job. It turned out that he was already filling a form and asked about taking which shift. He wondered if that meant he was accepted for the job.

Sunggyu finished the form and handed back to the woman, before hesitantly asking the woman. “So does this mean that I’m hired?”

“Yes, my dear. We’re quite lack of people for the café cuz the previous staff was pregnant and needed to take a break. And I believe that you should be suitable for the job, though we need to observe that when you get to work. By the way, you need to speak up, young man. I had a nephew that was like you, who was shy in front of strangers. My nephew was always acting coolly towards someone he didn’t know that he sometimes scared people.” The woman was talking nonstop to Sunggyu, who was amazed and kind of glad to see his new boss seemed to be a nice p
