Caroline shifted her weight uncomfortably, fidgeting at her spot in front of the stairs. The Slytherins that passed gave her bright smiles, occasionally patting her back and calling “Welcome back prefect!”, but it wasn’t until Min Yoongi finally made his way down the stairs towards their dorms that she sighed in relief.

Yoongi smiled upon seeing her and reached out to gently take her hand. “Welcome back, Caroline.”

“Thank you,” Caroline bit her lower lip and held Yoongi’s hand close to her chest, “I really – want to thank you, Yoongi. You saved my life – and stopped him. I can’t remember much, but I’m pretty sure he would’ve destroyed whole Hogwarts with his weapon if it wasn’t for you –”

“Well, the destruction of his weapon actually goes on Hoseok’s account,” Yoongi chuckled and pulled her closer, “And don’t worry. I’d save you anytime – we’re partners, right?”

Caroline smiled and cupped his face. “I love you, you know?” she paused and tilted her head, “In a friendly way of course. No need to get your Hufflepuff crush jealous.”

Yoongi rolled his eyes and tugged her towards the exit, right when Himchan finally stumbled down the stairs behind them and almost crashed into Yoongi’s back.

“I’m ready, we can go –” Himchan paused and his eyes widened dramatically, “Woah, great you’re back Caroline! I didn’t expect you to come back for this year!”

“I didn’t expect it either actually,” Caroline admitted and tugged on her robes, “But the healers told me my injuries are fine so far and I really wanted to spend the last days at Hogwarts. I missed so much of this school year, I need at least a few days fully awake around here before we go home for holidays.”

Himchan’s face softened and he exchanged a quick glance with Yoongi, giving him a thumbs up.

“Well, it’s great you’re here for the feast,” Himchan then said and nudged Caroline’s shoulder, “We can’t have our prefect absent when we win the house cup!”

“Do we really?” Caroline asked and furrowed her brows, “Win the house cup, I mean.”

“Not exactly,” Yoongi rolled his eyes, “I have no idea why our first years turn out to be the most deliquent ones, but it’s not only them but also students like Byun Baekhyun that make us lose hundreds of house points. I’d be surprised if we didn’t end up placing last actually.”

“Aw come on, what’s with the low enthusiasm, I do remember reading Slytherin was like, constantly in the lead a decade ago,” Himchan remarked with a chuckle.

“Yeah, a decade ago,” Yoongi repeated with a deadpan expression on his face, “Slytherin changed. And I don’t think that’s a bad thing.”

On their way down to the great hall, Taekwoon and Yifan caught up with them, and even Chaerin and Krystal joined their group. Caroline was right in their middle, one hand still in Yoongi’s save hold while Himchan had his arm slung around her shoulders and Chaerin reached out to ruffle her hair. Slytherin really changed, Caroline thought as they slowly made their way into the great hall, and it may be one of the best things ever.

The great hall was filled to the brim with excited students, the noise on the house table increasing every passing second as speculations and theories over this year’s winner were thrown around. It took Professor McGonagall three whole seconds upon stepping up towards her podium for the whole hall to fall completely silent.

“So, after this school year concluded in a lot of unplanned chaos and tumult,” Professor McGonagall allowed herself a pause to furrow her brows, “It’s finally time to announce the winner of the house cup. This year, the winning house managed to gain a lead of over fifty points, which is an admirable and excellent result! So we will now lead straight to celebrating this win –”

There was a pause, and every student in the Great hall held their breath. The prefects especially exchanged worried glances.

“We will win, right?” Tony Carter hissed quietly, “We won the Quidditch cup after all.”

“I hope so, Tony,” Jane smiled and squeezed his hand.

“I’ll kill myself if Gryffindor wins another time,” Seokjin announced dramatically from his table, “Seriously, I didn’t do all this work only to lose to the brainless idiot Tony Carter and his house once again.”

“Hey, won’t we win for once?” Alexa asked on Hufflepuff’s table and looked up to Hoseok, “We placed second in the Quidditch cup, plus our students don’t lose much points over all, do they?”

Hoseok shrugged and beamed down at her. “We did our best this year too, and that’s all that counts anyway!”

“Who cares about the house cup,” Yoongi yawned and the rest of the Slytherins seemed equally unfazed.

Caroline chuckled and shook her head, staring up at the headmistress’ podium with the other students as Professor McGonagall dramatically unrolled a parchment and cleared .

“Congratulations – Ravenclaw,” Professor McGonagall announced loudly and clapped her hands, blue and bronze banners appearing out of nowhere and decorating the hall beautifully, “For winning the house cup!”

The Ravenclaw table immediately emitted into loud cheering and victory cries, students embracing each other happily, while the other houses seemed in mild shock.

“What the happened?” Tony Carter hollered from Gryffindor’s table, “We won the ing Quidditch cup! How on earth does Ravenclaw win when they like, at Quidditch?”

Stephanie was really glad Seokjin was too occupied with beaming triumphantly and accepting handshakes to hear him, since the end of term feast leading to a blood bath amongst the prefects didn’t seem to be it.

“We won!” Victoria cheered next to her threw her arms around her neck.

The younger Ravenclaws where all high-fiving, Junhong declaring loudly this was all thanks to his seeker skills that are actually quite outstanding. “Professor McGonagall watched me training and awarded me a hundred points because!”

Jaebum laughed and ruffled Junhong’s hair, while Hyosang and Jinyoung clinked their cups together and Taehyung smiled happily to himself until Stephanie already threw herself at him and hugged him tightly.

“They seem so happy,” Jungkook commented from Gryffindor’s table and furrowed his brows in annoyance, “Though I really don’t like the way Stephanie keeps hugging Taehyung, they’re not even close! Why is Taehyung still at Ravenclaw’s table anyway, he needs to be here with me!”

Namjoon rescued Diesel from drowning in a cup of pumpkin juice and gave Jungkook a good thwack on the back of his head.

“Seriously, calm the down for once. It’s not like you need to always be around your boyfriend, now that the two of you are finally dating.”

“But,” Jungkook sighed dramatically and placed a hand over his heart, “I really can’t help it, every time I see him I just want to be around Taehyung! I thought you of all people would understand me!”

Namjoon furrowed his brows, though his eyes instinctively wandered to where the Ravenclaws were still cheering and exulting loudly. He stared at Seokjin’s side profile for a second, the way his mouth curled and his eyes were so very bright in happiness, and couldn’t help but smile.

“I do, kiddo. Still, don’t complain all the time and enjoy our company a little too, will you?”

“Exactly,” Yugyeom leaned over and threw his arms around Jungkook’s shoulders, “It’s like, the last day we see each other until next school year, which is in ages! I think I’ll even miss Quidditch training, though I hope Tony will go easier on us next year, now that we won the cup!”

“I highly doubt that,” Daehyun said with a laugh and continued loading his plate with treacle tart, “It’s his last year, remember? What is better to end the glorious school life of the amazing Tony Carter with a win of both the house and Quidditch cup?”

They all snorted in their food, and Jungkook even allowed the soaked Diesel to sit on his shoulder. Of course he was looking forward to spending a whole new year at Hogwarts with his boyfriend, but spending it with these losers was definitely something to look forward to, too.

“Next year we will win, I promise,” Hoseok announced to everyone willing to listen at his table, “I mean, our Quidditch tactic worked so well, if we pull a couple of these next year at the cup, we practically already won!”

There was laughing, and Alexa rolled her eyes but nudged Hoseok’s side with a smile. “That was really witty, I was so impressed. Hufflepuff’s going to surprise everyone next year.”

“Sure we will!” Jongup agreed immediately and nodded, “Everyone’s underestimating us anyway, that’s like our biggest trump card!”

Yongguk laughed and patted his shoulder. “Of course mate. Did you see the intimidated look on the faces of Gryffindor’s players? They were scared less – not so much the brave house, are they?”

Jinwoon on his other side laughed and then looked over his shoulder, waving in the direction of the rest of the Quidditch players. “Yo team, come sit with us!”

Jimin winced and exchanged a look with Xero, who sat at the other end of the table with him, deliberately not looking anywhere close to their prefects but instead sharing enormous slices of apple pie with his friend.

“Err, we’re fine here, I guess.”

Hoseok shot a rather helpless look in their direction, but was soon preoccupied by Kunpimook throwing his arms around their prefect’s shoulders and going deep into detail about their last match’s analysis.

“You know,” Jimin said through a mouth full of pie, “Hoseok’s really sorry. He made a mistake, but if you just forgave him –”

Xero glared at him, which didn’t look nearly half as intimidating as intended with icing smeared all over his face. “He betrayed me!”

“Yeah, but I know you miss him,” Jimin continued and icing from his upper lip, “Come on Xero, you’re not usually this resentful.”

Xero was quiet for a good couple of seconds, preoccupied by slicing up his pie, before happily using the fact a couple of students at the green table next to them were waving frantically as an excuse to change the topic.

“Hey, I guess the Slytherins want to talk to you, Jimin.”

“What?” Jimin’s head immediately shot up, and he blushed all kinds of red, “O-oh. Well, I guess I’ll get going …”

Xero nodded and absentmindedly watched his friend leaving, mind still preoccupied by what Jimin just said. He’s right, Xero wasn’t usually this resentful. And Hoseok was indeed very sorry, claiming his apologies practically every second. Still …

Xero sighed and gave up on his apple pie, gaze wandering towards the prefects’ seats for only a bare second. Hoseok was animatedly chatting with the rest of his team, dark hair carefully combed backwards, eyes bright and as good looking as ever. It was the end of the year, Xero mused, maybe forgiving really didn’t seem that much of a bad idea.

Jimin was practically shivering upon approaching Slytherin’s table, though all his worries were for nothing anyway, with the way the students reached out to pat his back.

“Thanks for saving our prefect!” someone shouted and the group around him erupted in applause.

“Uh, you’re w-welcome?” Jimin mumbled with a red face and fidgeted.

“Yo Jimin! Over here!” Himchan called out with the widest smirk on his face, “You definitely have to sit with us, considering you’re our prefect’s beloved–”

Yoongi shut him up with a good punch in the stomach, but turned to smile at Jimin right away. “Yeah, sit with us, Jimin.”

“Is this really alright?” Jimin asked shyly and bit his lower lip, “I mean, it’s the end of term feast, houses usually stay together.”

“But I want you to sit with me,” Yoongi said and shrugged, “I mean, if you don’t want to, that’s cool with me too, but –”

Jimin nodded quickly and accepted Caroline’s hand helping him to sit down next to the prefects. “No, it’s fine, I mean – I want to sit with you too.”

The Slytherins around the hooted, and even more as Yoongi casually reached out to take Jimin’s hand, entwining their fingers as if this was totally normal of them to do. Which it was, kind of. Jimin felt his ears burning, but Yoongi’s hand was warm and calming, and soon he accepted Himchan loading his plate with mashed potatoes and Baekhyun engaging him in a conversation over whoopee cushions.

“So I read about them in a book for Muggle Studies, and they seem genius! You think you can get me some over holidays so I can try to magically upgrade them?”

“Um, I could – try?”

Caroline turned back to Yoongi with a smile and stole a slice of waffles from his plate. “Seems like every prefect is in a relationship now, except me. Am I ought to die alone?”

“What do you mean, I don’t think Hoseok managed to get into good grades with his fourth-year crush yet, so he’s practically still in,” Yoongi said and shrugged, “Plus there’s Stephanie left, too.”

Caroline looked over at Ravenclaw’s still highly enthusiastic and cheering prefects and furrowed her brows. “What are you implying, Min Yoongi?”

Yoongi nonchalantly shrugged, but couldn’t ban the smirk from his lips as he nudged her side. And held tighter onto Jimin’s hand, that too.

The last day in Hogwarts went by in a rush. Students were running all through their dorms and common rooms, trying to gather their belongings and stuffing it all in their enormous suitcases. Half of the Ravenclaw house was invested in helping Taehyung to search for all the things he lost over the year, while Seokjin argued with Madam Pince over the library books he wanted to take home over summer. Tony Carter handed out fitness plans for his team and Hoseok said good bye to every single student of Hufflepuff with a warm hug.

It was an extremely sunny and warm day when all the students finally gathered at Hogsmeade station to board the Hogwarts Express back to London.

“Jungkook! Yugyeom!” Junhong hung half out his compartment and waved in the Gryffindors’ direction, “We’re in here!”

Jungkook immediately started beaming as he spotted Taehyung right next to the Ravenclaw and hurried to manoeuvre his suitcase inside. Yugyeom followed right on his tracks, high-fiving with Junhong as they entered the compartment. Jimin and Xero already sat next to the windows, Xero with the Daily Prophet in his hands and Jimin trying to solve the crossword puzzle on its back.

Jungkook sighed in content as he sat down next to Taehyung and propped up his legs. “I’m so ready for the summer break, seriously.”

Taehyung chuckled and poked his cheek. “Aren’t you going to miss me though?”

“Of course!” Jungkook nodded vehemently and took his boyfriend’s hand, “But we will meet up over summer either way, won’t we?”

“Hey, what about the six of us meeting up over summer altogether?” Junhong suggested and clapped his hands, “Xero’s parents own this huge mansion, we could chill in there, and maybe go watch the live broadcast of the Quidditch World Cup together!”

“Mate, ask me first before you decide these kind of things,” Xero said and rolled his eyes, “Jimin, three down is ashwinder, seriously, you have like all letters except w already – but well, it’s fine for me. I live in Greater London though, so I hope you’re fit with muggle transportation.”

“I’m genius with muggle transportation,” Jungkook announced proudly, “I took the underground to get to Kings Cross at the start of the school year!”

The others hummed in admiration. Yugyeom furrowed his brows. “Didn’t you like almost miss the train because of that though?”

Jungkook deliberately ignored him and moved closer to Taehyung, entwining both their hands. He didn’t know if he should be happy, being this close to his boyfriend, or sad they’re going to be separated for the whole summer, except a couple of meetings, from now on. Usually, Jungkook enjoyed holidays till no ends, but this time he was also somehow already anticipating the new school year before holidays even started. All the things he’ll be able to do with Taehyung in the upcoming year, all the time they could spend together –

“Jungkook, you’re drooling,” Yugyeom informed him and threw a chocolate frog in his direction, “If you guys want anything of the trolley, better get up now.”

“Thank you, but I’m already fully content,” Jungkook said and beamed down at Taehyung, accompanied by lots of groaning from the other boys in the background.

Xero mimed throwing up on the floor and Yugyeom exchanged a very exasperated look with Junhong, but Jungkook couldn’t care less, not with the way Taehyung leaned up and pressed a soft kiss on his cheek.

Jungkook still ended up purchasing goods of the trolley though, since spending a whole train ride with his boyfriend was one thing, but spending a whole train ride with his boyfriend and a large box of chocolate frogs was even better.

Jimin didn’t actually plan to practically invade the prefects’ carriage, since it was just a random coincidence his trip back from the bathroom lead him straight past that certain compartment. Plus it was actually all because head boy Wu Yifan that just exited to the door and brightened up upon spotting him.

“Park Jimin! You’re here to see Yoongi, am I right or am I right?”

Saying no would be straight up rude, though Jimin’s intention truthfully weren’t meeting up with the Slytherin, but Yifan didn’t await his reply anyway.

“Yoongi, come outside,” Yifan yelled over his shoulder, “Your boyfriend’s here to see you.”

Jimin blushed all kinds of red. “Boyfriend may be a little too presumptuous …”

“Hey boyfriend,” Yoongi said as he came out of the compartment, and that kind of settled it anyway.

Yifan excused himself with having to take care of the cauldron cake, and Yoongi leaned against the door frame with a smirk on his lips. “Came to say goodbye?”

“Yeah, um,” Jimin winced and shifted his weight awkwardly, “H-have a nice summer?”

“You too,” Yoongi smiled and then winked, “Take care yourself, Park Jimin. Don’t get yourself into trouble for once.”

Jimin huffed and pouted shamelessly. “I could say the same to you. Weren’t you the one that suggested meeting up with a wanted criminal?”

Yoongi chuckled and leaned in, comfortably resting a hand on his nape before pressing a kiss on Jimin’s lips. “I’ll really miss you.”

“I’ll really miss you too, Yoongi,” Jimin said quietly and reached out to curl his hand into the prefect’s shirt, “So much. You won’t go and ignore me next year, now that you’re going to be a cool seventh year, r-right?”

Yoongi laughed and tugged him closer, until Jimin was pressed flat against his chest, his arms coming to comfortably wrap around the younger’s shoulders.

“I would never ignore you, Park Jimin.”

Jimin sighed in content, pressing himself even closer against the other, until his face was practically buried in Yoongi’s neck. He could seriously stay like this forever, if it wasn’t for the whole prefect compartment pressing their faces against the glass door. Yoongi soon noticed too and angrily flicked them off before drawing the blinds of the compartment door.

“Seriously, why is everyone so invested in my love life?”

Jimin couldn’t help but chuckle and Yoongi quickly resumed into hugging him, because that was way more enjoyable than raging over the nosy prefects anyway.

The train ride passed rather quickly, what with their compartment full of sweets and litres of iced pumpkin juice, and the endless rounds of exploding snap they played. Xero felt incredibly full once the Hogwarts Express finally reached its final destination in King’s Cross, though the thing, or rather the person, he refused to think about during the whole ride came back like a car crash right then.

“Hey, wait!”

Hoseok stopped Xero with a hand on his shoulder right when he was about to leave the train, sheepish expression on his face and hands curling in his shirt.

“I really – Xero, I know you’re not up to forgiving me anytime soon, but –” Hoseok cleared his throat and attempted half a smile, “I mean, I won’t see you for quite some time now, so I wanted to apologize one last time.”

Xero furrowed his brows at the prefect. “Is that so?”

“Indeed,” Hoseok nodded and his grip on the other’s shoulder tightened, “You know, I’m Hufflepuff’s prefect, I want to be on good terms with all the students from my house, so –”

“Oh my god, are you ing serious,” Xero groaned and draped a hand over his eyes, “Trying to get along with me because you’re Hufflepuff’s prefect? That’s like, the lamest apology you managed so far! To think I was stupid enough to hope you tried to apologize so hard because you reciprocate my feelings or something–”

Xero stopped in mid-sentence, an expression of absolute mortification forming on his face as he realised what he just admitted, hand falling down at his side and clenching to a fist.

Hoseok on the other hand stared at him with mild surprise, before his lips curled upwards in a pleasant grin.

“Well, that’s a reason too.”

“What…?” Xero eyes widened and he frantically shook his head, “Don’t ing kid me, Jung Hoseok –”

Hoseok leaned in and kissed him. It was a light touch, almost too fleeting to fully register, but most definitely enough to send a thousand and one butterflies down Xero’s stomach and make him gasp in surprise.

When Hoseok leant back again, the smile on his face was warm and gentle. “Don’t worry, I don’t expect you to forgive me soon. But that doesn’t matter, since I’ll be waiting anyway.”

Xero’s mouth hung open as he watched Hoseok waving over his shoulder before disappearing in the crowd of students on the platform. He felt completely awestruck and it took Junhong kicking his back “Come on, don’t park Xero,” to awake him from his freezing.

“Did something happen?” Junhong asked him curiously as they both manoeuvred their suitcases out of the train.

“Hmm? Maybe?” Xero said and shrugged.

He didn’t stop smiling on their whole way through the platform, not even as Junhong almost elbowed him in the face and a group of overly excited first years crashed into their backs. Xero wasn’t sure if he ever felt this happy.

Seokjin felt incredibly embarrassed, even though there was most definitely no reason to, especially since he was Ravenclaw’s outstanding prefect and potential new head boy of Hogwarts anyway. Still – he couldn’t help but stare down at his feet, ears burning bright red as he tugged on the back of Namjoon’s shirt.

They had left the train together, Namjoon ranting all about how he’s so very glad school is finally over and is probably going to spend his whole holidays doing nothing but sleeping and eating, but it wasn’t what Seokjin wanted to hear at that moment, nor what he wanted to say.

“Namjoon,” Seokjin bit his lower lip and held tighter on the Gryffindor’s shirt, “Wait –”

“What?” Namjoon turned around with a chuckle, “What is it?”

Seokjin internally cursed his whole life at that moment, and most especially the fact he was completely under the spell of Kim Namjoon.

“I – I guess I’m gonna, uh, miss you,” Seokjin muttered and cleared his throat, desperately trying to play the situation down, “I mean, summer is a long time, almost two months, and well, I’m an only child plus there’s only so much studying and books can cut, so don’t blame me on feeling a little lonely –”

“Hey,” Namjoon cupped Seokjin’s face safely in his hands and smiled, “I’m going to miss you, too. But it’s not like we can’t see each other over the summer, right?”

Seokjin felt his cheeks flushing and deliberately rolled his eyes. “When did I even say I want to meet up with you?”

Namjoon chuckled and leaned in to lightly pinch his cheek. “It’s way too late for you to fool me, you know. You have to try way harder to convince me you’re not completely in love with me from now on.”

“Damn it,” Seokjin muttered but couldn’t help to laugh, too, “I’ll send you an owl. See you soon.”

“I can’t wait,” Namjoon said quietly and pulled him even closer, despite the fact they were still right in the middle of the crowded platform.

Seokjin’s eyes widened as Namjoon leaned in to comfortably kiss him, but it was easy to relax into his kiss at that very moment. Because who cared anyway, it’ll be two months before they’ll see all the other students again. People were shouting in the background, someone whistled loudly and Namjoon heard his mother calling his name in safe distance.

It’ll take her some time to reach them, and in the meantime he resumed kissing Seokjin, enjoying the last seconds of the school year before saying good bye. Good bye until next year, because there were still a lot, a lot of days to share at Hogwarts.

And this – is it. After almost two years (how even?) You’re the Potion to my Cauldron is finally all wrapped up and finished. Phew. Even though I had immense fun writing it, I’m also really glad everything resolved once for all. Which doesn’t mean there aren’t like super huge plot holes, things that came up and I conveniently forgot to ever mention again, action and mystery suspense points being hinted but never making an actual appearance, characters and relationships showing up for once but never again – yes, I admit, this is story is an actual mess, which I tried to hide but ultimately couldn’t do so.

But let’s be real, I didn’t write this to be some kind of mastermind-plot-ish super thrilling story, but simply enjoyable for the people that read it, and I hope I at least succeeded in that! :)

Which of course leads us to a huge thank you to all of you, my dear readers! The support and response this fic got is something I never even dared to expect, and every single comment sent me in such an awe, I can’t help but feel incredibly thankful towards all of you! Thank you for committing yourself to the ride that was this story, for tagging along and expressing your opinions all along the way – you people are the reason I found the motivation and will to write, and even thought “hey this isn’t at least too bad”. I’m still most definitely not on a par with all the amazing fanfiction writers out there, but you make me think my writing skills are still enough to bring joy to people, and that means so much to me! So, thank you thank you thank you! I really adore you loads!

Now, I wish all of you the best! Don’t forget to stay Potterheads for the rest of your life though, ahaha

Have my heart! :)

Chapter 27: Damn. Your story is super-duper good. Amazing fics you got here. It's not complicated like a real Harry Potter novel but you make it absolutely pleasant for a reader with limited English like me. The plot is not complex and I enjoy it very much. Don't make me start with the characters please. They're so many but you make a good portion for them to come out nicely and the couples, gosh, they're adorable. It's almost two years, yes, but you make it worth time if this is the result for waiting. I highly hope that you make another sequel for this. Please~ ^^ Thank you for the great fics. I enjoyed it very much. >_<
