You heard faint noises and felt the presence of a light shining down on you. You opened your eyes enough to take in your surroundings. You were in what appeared to be a hospital room and were laid on a hospital bed with an IV attached to your arm.

"You're finally awake", a voice called out. You turned your head slightly and saw Baekhyun by your bedside.

"What happened?" you asked despite your anger towards him. Your curiousity always had gotten the best of you.

"You got into an accident. When you ran across the road, a car was driving by and ran into you." Baekhyun explained. "You scared me to death!" he yelled out suddenly.

Your head throbbed and you felt sore all over, and his yelling did nothing to help. "Please just leave", you said after a moment of silence.

"Y/N, you've got to be kidding me. I thought I had almost lost you and now you're asking me to leave?" he exclaimed.

"Well even if you had lost me, you'd always have Seuli wouldn't you?" you countered irritably.

His expression softened and he quieted down. After giving you a moment to calm down, he spoke, "Y/N, I know that you're hurt from what I did and that what I did was stupid and reckless. But after nearly losing you, I now realize how much you still mean to me and how ing stupid I was to have cheated on you."

You took account of his words, but you couldn't help feeling mad that it had taken you nearly dying, for him to realize just how much you meant to him. When you were just about to respond, someone entered the room.

"Kai!" you nearly screamed in surprise as he came into view.

"Y/N! Are you alright? I saw what happened on the news and came here right away", he quickly said as he rushed over to your side.

"Who the hell are you?" Baekhyun asked sharply.

"I'm Kai", he replied without even sparing Baekhyun a glance.

"I'm alright, just a bit bruised", you answered him.

"You know him?" Baekhyun questioned angrily.

"Yes, I know him" , you answered bluntly.

"Good thing nothing worse happened", Kai stated with a smile on his face.

You couldn't help but smile back at him, his smile just made you want to smile as well. You could see Baekhyun scowling in the corner of your eye, and couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction at his misery. After all, he had cheated on you.

"What the Y/N? What, are you two seeing each other or something?" Baekhyun huffed out.

"We're just friends." Kai replied. "For now anyways", he added while sending a wink in your direction.

"What do you mean "for now"?" Baekhyun asked incredulously. "Y/N, what is he talking about?".

"What I mean, is that if things don't work out between you two, then I'll have a chance to make Y/N my girl. And by the looks of it, you don't seem to be working things out all too well." Kai stated triumphantly. 

Baekhyun took a step forward as if to land a punch on Kai, but you intervened before anything could happen.

"Hey! Stop it." you demanded as Baekhyun and Kai settled into what you percieved to be fighting stances. "Kai, I already told you that I'd let you know if things worked out between Baekhyun and me or not. And I would've appreciated being the one to tell him about the whole ordeal in the first place." you sighed out. "And Baek, stop acting like you love me when you obviously don't love me as much as you claim you do since you ing cheated on me". you finished snappily. That sure did the trick to shut them up.

"I'm sorry", Baekhyun said after you finished your mini rant.

"Yeah, me too", Kai followed.

"Now ummmm, Y/N. The doctor said that you're well enough to take home today so how about I drive us home. I requested the rest of today and tomorrow off. I was hoping we could talk this out." Baekhyun announced, changing the subject.

You gave a quick look at Kai, wondering how he would take this. I mean, he definitely has feelings for me. So hearing someone else offering to take me home, a home that we share, must be hard, you thought. You saw Kai's signature dazzling smile on his face and knew that he would be alright. He had said that you two could just remain friends if anything, and that he would just wait for your final answer after you had settled things with Baekhyun.

"Okay", you replied. Baekhyun's face lit up from your response, clearly thinking that you would've rejected his offer.

"Well, I guess I'll get going." Kai spoke.

"Kai", you said. "Thank you for coming to see me. It means a lot".

"No problem, just wanted to make sure you were okay", he replied with a wide smile. Baekhyun rolled his eyes and frowned at your interaction with Kai.

"Bye", Baekhyun said curtly to Kai as he made his way towards the door.

"Bye. Oh, and do me a favor and treat her right this time", Kai answered Baekhyun indignantly. Baekhyun just stood there silently as if he had just been slapped across the face. Kai finally exited the room and left Baekhyun and you surrounded in an awkward silence.

"Well, ", you mumbled under your breath. "Here we go". 

A/N: UGhgh. I feel like this was the iest update ever. BUT AT LEAST YOU NOW KNOW WHAT HAPPENED *o*.  I'll try to update at least 1-3 times a week, so look forward to the next chapter :)))
