With the phone still in her hand, Victoria laid down on her bedroom floor and sprawled out. She looked up at the white ceiling and wondered why Changmin called her. Maybe he was thinking about her and had the urge to hear her voice. Maybe he had some exciting news to tell her. Maybe if Nichkhun wasnt an a*s, she would know right now.

Victoria groaned aand threw an arm over her eyes. She really needed to stop thinking about Changmin and Nichkhun before she drove herself crazy.

Nichkhun's phone started ringing but she didnt recognize the ringtone. Nichkhun had assigned all his guy friendsto Coolio's Rollin' with My Homies and all the girls to Sir-Mix-A-Lot's Baby Got back. Curious as to who it could be, Victoria lifted herarm and glanced at the screen. As soon as she saw the caller ID, her whole demeaneor changed.

"Oh, Nichkhun payback can be a b*itch," she thought to herself. With a wicked gleamin her eye, she pressed the green accept button.

"Nichkhun's mom I presume?" she said.

"Oh!" his mother exclaimed in surprise. "You're not my son." Her voice was warm and inviting with light country twang.

Victoria chuckled. "No ma'am, I am definitely not."

"Well then darlin', who might you be?" the feminine voice questioned.

"My name's Victoria Song, ma'am" she answered.

There is a slight pause before Nichkhun's mom said, "Victoria? What a beautiful name....Pish posh! none of that ma'am business, she kindly scolded. "I may be a mother, but i dont have any grey hairs yet. Call me Vera, suga'

Victoria was taken back by the woman's friendliness. This was Nichkhun's mother? Victoria wasnt surewhat she expected when she answered the phone, but it certainly wasnt this. "Yes, ma'- Victoria caught herself in time, "I mean Vera," Victoria corrected.

"Now that we have the intrductions out of the way, do you mind telling why you are answering my son's phone?" she demanded.

Victoria grinned at her bluntness. The woman may be friendly but she didnt hold back the candor. Victoria admired that. She quickly explained how she and Nichkhun ended up switching phones.

"Well fiddlesticks!" Nichkhun's mom exclaimed. "That's quite a predicament you two have gotten in. He should have left it with me. I could have met you and exchanged the phones. Now you have to go two weeks with each others."

Victoria's grin turned into a wide smile. This was the opening she was hoping for. She sighed heavily, making sure Vera knew she was distressed. "The thing is..." Victoria purposefully paused and pretended to falter, "..well I.."

"What is it darling? You can tell me," Vera encouraged, sounding worried.

Victoria felt a twinge a guilt when she heard  the woman's concern but she bushed it aside and continued. "The thing is, i think Nichkhun did this on purpose to get back at me."

'Nichkhun?" his mother questioned, her voice sounding surprised.

Yes, Nichkhun," Victoria confirmed.

"Did he asks you to call him that, suga'?" Vera asked bizarrely.li

Victora frowned at the question. This was not the reaction she was expecting. "Uh...yes, " Victoria answered, though it sounded more like a question than a statement. "Is that a problem?" her voice hesitant. Was she not suppose to call him that?

Vera murmured something under her breath. "No, not at all. I'm just surprised, "she stated. Before Victoria could question why, Vera asked, "So, what is this about my son getting back to you?"

Victoria opened to respond, but the words were caught in . She couldnt throw Nichkhun under the bus like that. It was one thing to play a prank on him in front of his friends, but it was another thing to lie to his mother.

Darlin'? You there?" Vera prompted.

"Uh....well..you see.." Victora stuttered, at a loss for words.

"That boy," Vera sighed. "He did something to you didnt he?" she guessed correctly. "Just like his daddy. Always letting his emotions rule him rather that his head. Well, that and his one-eyed snake."

Victoria was so surprised by the last sentence that she ended up choking on her own saliva. Did his mother really just say that? She coughed, trying to clear .

Nichkhun's mother continued talking. "He was such a good boy growing up. He had such great manners, never talking back to his elders and always obeying orders. What happened? Where did I go wrong?" she lamented.

"Ummm.." Victoria trailed off, not sure how to respond.

"Now, he's out at all hours of the night to go clubbing, never telling me where he's going or what he's doing. He never brings any of his friends home and he never talks about what's happening in his life."

"Vera-" Victoria tried to get a word in edgewise, but Nichkhun mother continued on her rant.

"And dont think i havent noticed him fooling aith those cheap girls in the club, "she said in disgust. "Back in my day, we never wore our skirts above our knee or had our bellybuttons hanging out," she paused. "Oh, dear, you arent one of those girls are you? Not there's anything wrong with that!" Vera assured her and rushed on
