Moonlight

The wolves were of course furious when they found out but she calmed them down and soon enough, the day was over and they were heading home. Half of them had fallen asleep in the car, and Yue couldn’t help but admire their cute sleeping faces as they slept without a care. A small smile appeared on her face as she found herself slowly falling in love with these silly boys.

After taking a long shower, she was comfortable in her pajamas and sitting on the window ledge as she looked out at the beautiful night. The moon giving off a glow that allowed her to see. In her hands she had the leather bound journal L had given to her at school a couple days prior. She took a couple of moments to admire the vintage feel it gave off, it was kinda torn and rough but she found that just gave it more charm. Opening the book Yue was shocked to find that it was already written in, but taking a closer look gave chills down her spine. It was her mother’s journal. She flipped the pages to see most of the journal was written in, and the last entry was the day she was born.

So many questions filled her head. Why did L have this book? Did he know her mom? What was going on? Yue read the journal, only to find out that her parents were chasers. The very thing trying to hunt down her precious wolves. She dropped the book in shock, holding her head as she tried to process what just happened. How did she know it was actually her mother’s. After all it could be trap. No, it couldn’t be. There was only things written that her mom would know- but what did that mean? She was a chaser? No, no she isn’t. Her parents never told her anything so she can’t be something she never became. She quickly closed the book and left it on the windowsill, not looking back as she crawled into bed.

Yue, stood in her room the next day, pacing back and forth as she wondered if she should tell the boys about the journal. Fear struck her heart as she only thought of negative reactions. What if they hated her just because of what her parents were? She couldn’t let that happen as her thoughts were interrupted as one of her wolves burst through the door.

“Yue! Whatever Kai says don’t listen to him!” Tao yelled as he barged through the door, panting as he attempted to hold the door close to prevent someone from coming in.

“Yah! Zitao! Open this door right now!” Kai’s voice boomed through the door as the latter pushing his body against the door, effectively blocking Kai out.

“No! I don’t agree! You can’t ask her!”

Yue simple sighs at the situation, rolling her eyes slightly as she walked over to the door, lightly pushing the Panda out of the way. Opening the door she was faced with a slightly red faced Kai who clearly wasn’t expecting her to open the door.

“Oh hey Yue-” He mumbled, as she raised her eyebrows in curiosity. “I was just wondering if you wanted to go to the shopping district. You know, on a date?” He asked shyly, much to Yue’s delight. He was usually so cocky and confident, it was almost refreshing to see him like this. A small grin appeared on her face as she nods her head.

“Sure! Sounds like fun!” Kai’s face brightens up almost instantly as he gives her a dumb grin, while Tao sits in the corner, pouting. She laughs at both of their reactions as she pushes the wolves out. “Let me get dressed okay? I’ll be down in ten,”

Even though the boys argued, and attempted to get Yue to stay home, she didn’t budge. She made it clear that Kai asked her very nicely and she was now looking forward to going. At that, none of the boys could argue as they let her go. Kai on the other hand could practically hear his heart pounding against his chest. Yue looked so cute today and for some reason he couldn’t find the words to say. Before she appeared in their lives, Kai would admit to being a playboy- talking and flirting with girls just came so easy. Yet when it came to Yue, he seemed to be in a trance whenever she was around. There was something about her that just pulled him to the girl, and he loved every moment of it. Being in close proximity to her though made him nervous, here he was on a date with her. He just hoped that he would bond today with the girl he was slowly falling in love with.

Yue on the other hand could clearly tell that the boy was nervous. There was at least a foot between them as they walked and she could feel every time he would steal a ‘secret’ glance at her. She chuckled lightly to herself, seriously, where did the cocky and confident Kai go? While she secretly enjoyed this, she couldn’t help but miss the real Kai.

“You know, I’m kinda jealous of you,” She says suddenly, shocking Kai as his head lifts up and his eyebrows furrow in confusement.

“What- why?”

“Just because you’re so confident in yourself- the way you hold yourself up and able to come up with a remark. I don’t know, It’s just something I admire about you. Minus maybe the cocky park,” She giggles, looking over at him whose face still showed shock. Shaking her head, she reaches over to grab his hand and pull him along. “So don’t worry, nothing bad is going to happen. Just be yourself Kai-” Yue gives him a breathtaking smile, and almost instantly the boy gains his confidence back, only further falling in love with the girl next to him.

“Come on- let’s go over there,” He says, grabbing the girl’s hand as he pulls her to a photo booth that stood on the corner of the street. Yue didn’t have time to argue (not that she would) as she let the now excited boy push her gently into the booth. She sits down on the small bench inside the machine as Kai feeds it some money. He pushes the settings he wants before sitting next to the girl, smoothly wrapping a free arm around her shoulders as he smiles with a big peace sign. Yue snorts before doing the same. Flash.

The two spend the next two pictures doing cute and silly poses before Kai looks over at her. Yue does the same in confusion, she thought there were four pictures in total? However when he starts to lean in towards her she get’s what he’s trying to do, yet she can’t look away or stop herself from leaning in as well. Their lips finally touched, and she was surprised Kai was this gentle as his lips slowly moved against hers. Flash. The two separate and Yue can tell by the dumb grin on his face that Kai had finally bonded as she playfully shoves him away and walks out of the booth, a very happy Kai following her. A minute later and the two pictures came out of the dispenser, causing her face to turn a very bright red. The last picture had caught the two’s intimate moment.

“I am so showing this to the guys”

“Kai!”
