Mei POV

I saw Kris's face become pale from the shock of seeing me, and the Emperor looks at me with sympathy eyes. I cleared my throat and went onto one knee "I will give you the report as soon as possible" I said. I get up slowly and turn to walk away, but Kris grabs onto my shoulder. I whimpered at his touch, I guess my adrenaline was up that I didn't realise that I was hurt.

"You're hurt," Kris said, he then rips my top making half of my chest exposed. I look over my shoulder and see a deep cut. I proceed to leave, but Kris had other plans "Stop, I order you to stay," Kris said. I look back at the Emperor, and he nods, so I stayed. "Tao!" Kris calls and Tao came into the room. He looked shock to see me hurt, I guess with me covered in blood was hard to see if I was bleeding "Get a towel with a bowl of water and some medical supplies" Kris said.

Kris pulls a chair and commands me to sit down. Tao comes back with everything and helps Kris first clean off the blood on me. Kris then stitches me up making the wound close and places a bandage on top. "Tao how is the girl?" I question Tao.

"She is very scared" Tao replies. I stayed silent and hummed in response. I start think of the situation I am in. 'Kris healing me does that mean he wants me alive? Or does he believe in me?' I thought to myself. Tao hand me fresh clothes and I go behind a screen to change. I come back wearing a peach hanbok with a light floral pattern. Kris came close to me and tucked a little hair behind my ear.

"Tao please watch over the girl. Kris will pass by her room and relax with her soon" I said, and Tao left. Kris was not pleased with all that I said. He was frowning and was clearly upset 'Do you still want a killer as your wife?' I thought in my head.

"This is why your parents and I thought it was a good idea for you to become Emperor and Empress. You look so good together and take care of each other" The Emperor said, I totally forgot he was in the room. I look at Kris but then I tried to avoid eye contact with him. As if the more I look at Kris more I may break down in front of him. I walked to the Emperor and kissed him on his forehead "Mei, please do rest" The Emperor said.

"Yes, your highness," I said and bowed my head. I left the Emperor chamber to rest, Kris followed right behind me. I was headed to my room, the head captain chamber. Instead of going to my room Kris had pulled me into his room. "Kris~" I whined as he close the room door.
