Mei grew up in the palace with her best friend who is the crown prince. Every morning she goes to wake up the prince and help him with his studies. Her family is the Royal family's personal guards. Mei's mom, Leigh, was supposed to marry the Emperor, but instead, the Emperor fell in love with her hand maiden and Leigh fell in love with her personal guard named Jin. Leigh and Jin got married and promised the Emperor and his new Empress that they will always protect them. The two families grew up together; Leigh and Jin had a daughter named Mei and the Emperor and Empress had a son named Kris.But in one faithful morning, chaos struck making Mei and Kris's lives change forever.
