Cold HeartedThe next day, after Nicole and I had made up, I went into the bathroom and called Jessica. I wouldn't dare go in my room for fear that one of the girls would come in. Right now, I just wanted to be alone.
Jessica answered after the first few rings. "Hello?"
"Hey, Jessica," I sighed. "I kinda wanted to talk to you about something."
"Yes, what is it?" she asked. I hated the fact that I had to talk through the phone, where she could hang up at any second or deny everything without me seeing her guilty face.
"So, umm, your brother? He seems like a nice guy," I stated.
"Yes, he is. He took care of me so much as a child and I love him," Jessica lied. I cringed.
"J-Jessica, do you ever... kiss your brother?" I asked, my voice wavering in the process.
"Yeah. Just on the cheek. I save lips for you, Baekkie," she giggled.
"Is that true? Are you sure you've never made out with your brother before?" I spat. The call went silent for a few seconds.
"What do you mea-"
"Oh god, don't play dumb with me, Jessica. I saw you in the park kissing that guy like the world would end if you didn't!" I seethed. There was an ever present silence in the gaps of our conversation, which was troubling if nothing else.
"How did you find out?" Jessica whispered. I sunk down painfully against the bathroom door. Of all things she could've said, I expected her to say sorry and beg for me back. And she immediately asked how I found out.
"I saw you," I answered anyway.
