Reminiscence
“What?" I sputtered angrily immediately and good thing it was out of HaeSeok's earshot. "What do you mean we'll stay here? No, I don't think so. It will not happen, Minseok. It will not happen. HaeSeok and I will not stay here as much as you want. I'm going to find us a new house." I knew it. This would really happen.
"Why not? This is HaeSeok's house as well so he can stay here, and you too. This house is too big for one person. Please Haekyung-ah, just stay here." Minseok retorted and I'm about to rip my hair in irritation. I shouldn't have called him last night. I should've called Luhan instead.
"No, we can't. And this isn't HaeSeok's house. This is yours and your wife's house." There, I said it.
"No, this is mine. I've lived here since I was a kid. When my parents left for America, I'm living here alone since then."
"Wh-what?"
He sighed as if he was starting to get annoyed too. "Hyemi and I were living in a different house. Remember the house you went to have a therapy session with my mother-in-law? That's the one. And here I am, back in my own haven."
"Whatever." I found myself saying. "Still, we will not stay here."
"C'mon, Haekyung-ah. Why won't you stay here? I'm offering this for free. No need to pay me every month."
"Mama?" It was HaeSeok, suddenly appearing from the game room next door. "Are you having a fight with Papa?" He asked. The words that I was about to reply to Minseok suddenly sunk down in my throat.
"Uh, no, no. We're not fighting, HaeSeok-ah." I told him, hoping for Minseok to ride it on. "We're just talking, that's all."
HaeSeok blinked. "You sound like you are fighting."
"No, no, we're not." Minseok and I both said in unison. HaeSeok shrugged then left. I turned and faced Minseok. "This conversation is over. HaeSeok and I will not stay here as much as you want. Period." I said and walked away.
“What? You're living with Minseok?" Kyungri sputtered, almost spatting her coffee on my face. I understand her reaction. That was why I felt guilty and bad. "How the heck are you living with him?!" She gasped out.
"I told you. Our apartment was eaten by fire last night. I called Minseok and he took us to his house. We're living with him at the moment. But he wanted us to stay with him a little bit longer." I told her.
"Longer? Like what? Forever?" She said and I shrugged. "That 's what I thought when you told me. He wants you both to stay in his house forever."
"But you know we can't. At least, I can't." I mu
