Housework Designation?

You, Me and our Baby?!

Jiyeon’s POV:

“You look horrible,” Yoona sighed sympathetically as she stood on the other side of the counter. We were at the library and I was working on my shift. Yes, I’m still working even if I just really want to go home and snuggle comfortably in my bed.

“Thanks,” I said sarcastically.

“How many hours did you sleep last night?”

“Three hours I think,” I yawned. “But it’s okay I always sleep like that on exam week.”

“Yes but that’s just for a week. If this keeps up, it might affect your studies. I heard you were caught dozing off in Mrs. Kim’s class. I’m surprised you’re still alive,” Yoona mused.

I shrugged, “Perks of being a good student in the past I guess.”

“You just got lucky it’s not her time of the month.”

I giggled, “Yeah I guess so.”

“I think you should quit working here,” Yoona suggested casually checking her painted nails. “Well aside from it being boring and nerdy—“

“Hey it’s not,” I protested.

“Yes it is,” she looked at me flatly. I pouted. “As I was saying, you already have this job at the coffee shop. If you ask me, it can cover pretty much your allowance so you don’t have to be in this boring place anymore. Plus quitting this can clear up your Monday and Wednesday afternoon so you could take time to sleep or something.”

“That’s tempting but—“

“Oh common you worry-wart, you’re quitting right now,” Yoona started tugging my wrist until I was out from my post.

“But but I need to tell my supervisor—“

“Hush,” she rested a finger on my lips cutting me off and then she turned to one of my co-workers, a short guy with a big round eyeglasses. “Hey Minho, Jiyeon’s not gonna finish her shift this afternoon.”

“Eh? But why?” Minho flushed as he fixed his glasses. He was obviously smitten by my best friend.

“She’s quitting,” Yoona nonchalantly responded with a smile.

I coughed a few times choking on my saliva, “What?! No! She’s kidding! You’re kidding Yoona, right right?!” I nudged her.

“Nope I’m not,” she said flatly. “So just tell your superior or something that she’s gonna explain about quitting tomorrow. Bye,” she waved and winked at Minho, who immediately turned into a giant tomato, as my best friend harshly pushed me to the exit before I could even protest.

“I hate you, you know that. You just made me quit my job,” I folded my arms in futile attempt to look angry and intimidating to my best friend (but to be honest, I’m as violent and as intimidating as a pink butterfly).

“Oh please, I have just given you big favor,” Yoona said calmly as we sat opposite at each other on one of tables outside the cafe I was working in, which was just across the university. Today was my day off, so don’t judge me.

“But I like that job. I could sit around reading a book in silence at the same time earning money,” I explained looking through the menu, even though I already knew what’s on it. Just for the purpose of acting as a customer I guess.

Yoona was silent and I could tell she was giving me her infamous ‘judging you so much right now’-look. “Stop looking at me like that or I’ll cut you in half,” I warned her not taking my eyes off the menu.

“Can I get your order, miss?”

“Yes, I’m getting a,” I heard Yoona suddenly paused and slowly she continued, “chocolate cake and a plain coffee.”

I gave her a strange look and then averted my eyes up at the waiter. Oh I see now. Younger and attractive, totally Yoona’s type. What a pedobear. Oh wait—I haven’t seen this kid before, I guess the manager hired him after I was gone for a whole week after my sister’s……………………accident.

“I’ll get a strawberry shake,” I said kicking Yoona’s foot under the table.

“Ouch!” she exclaimed. “What was that for?!”

“I—Is that all?” the gray-haired tall waiter, which I think was about 16, asked knitting his eyebrows.

“Yep, that’s all,” I smiled ignoring Yoona’s whimper.

For some bizarre reason, the boy’s ears turned crimson. He blinked his eyes a few times as he took note of our order on his pad.

“Uhmmm, are you new here?” I asked for the purpose of getting acquainted to my new co-worker.

The boy’s head shoot up in surprise, “Y—yeah?”

“Oh, I actually work here. I was just off for a week but I’ll be back tomorrow. I’m Jiyeon and you can call me noona.”

Yoona raised her hand smiling goofily, “And I’m Yoona! You can call me noona too!”

The poor boy squinted his eyes between us, his ears getting more and more crimson. “I—I’m Junhong,” he answered, his voice cracked at the end. Yoona giggled.

“I’ll see you around then, Junhong?” I gave him an accommodating smile.

“Y—yeah, I’ll see you tomorrow—noona,” he smiled meekly and then quickly made his way inside the café grabbing the menus on the process.

“Awww he’s so cute and very very shy,” Yoona cooed. “I like him already.”

“Give the kid a break,” I rolled my eyes, “And I thought Jaejin was your hubby?”

“Who’s Jaejin again?”

I threw a napkin at her, “Ya!”

She snickered, “Kidding! Kidding! You know I love my Jaejin.”

Hongki’s POV:

It was almost seven in the evening when I finally got home. Well, I’m doing pretty good at this, ain’t I? This is like the earliest record breaking I’ve got home so far. I think I deserve an award.

As I made my way inside, I saw Jiyeon on the couch totally engrossed with the drama, she was following while Minsoo was beside her playing with his toys. Typical Wednesday night.

I went up to carry Minsoo, handing the tissue dispenser to Jiyeon on the process. “Have Minsoo eaten yet?” I asked after kissing Minsoo on the forehead. “How’s our baby?” I cooed at him but he was busy playing with the stuffed animal in his hands to even bother glancing at me.

Jiyeon silently nodded not taking her eyes off the screen. Her eyes were already puffed because of cry. What the hell is she watching anyway? Oh that Jang Geunsuk guy again.

“What about you, geek?” I cocked my head.

“Later,” her voiced cracked as she blew her nose.

I shook my head pathetically, “Well have you at least cooked dinner?”

“Ramen,” she answered carelessly before she started rumbling. “Oh my god, what the hell are you doing? Turn around! He’s right behind! Turn around or you’ll never gonna see him again! No! No! NO! Ugh! I’m hating this drama so much right now! How can the girl be so stupid?!”

I instantly retreated to the kitchen before she starts pummeling and shaking me brutally like she did last time. I think I had bruises after that.

While still hearing her strings of violent reactions, I settled Minsoo on his high chair and proceeded to cook. I had no choice, do I? The only thing that geek cooked for the past week was ramen and rice. Man, I pity her future husband.

It wasn’t long before I was finished setting up the table. My skills in culinary is above average indeed. And I haven’t even practiced lately.

“You’re in-charged of cooking from now on,” Jiyeon pointed her spoon at me. She was already on her seconds before she finally found her voice. The girl can eat alright. I like that. Since most of the girls I’ve been with always watches how much they eat, how much calories are in their food and all those kind of stuff. It’s irritating most of the time, I tell you.

I smirked, “Well as long as your in-charge of the laundry.”

She thought for a while before nodding, “Fair enough, as long as you do the groceries.”

“Hey, not fair,” I protested spurting rice from my mouth.

“Eewww,” her nose wrinkled shielding her face with her slender arms.

“If I do the groceries alone then you do all Minsoo’s -cleaning!”

“Then you do the entire house cleaning yourself!”

“No, you do it! You’re the girl!”

“Just because I’m the girl doesn’t mean I’m gonna do all the cleaning myself! You do it!”

“No YOU do it!”

“No, YOU DO IT!”

“I’m NOT gonna cook then!”

“Then I’m gonna dump all Minsoo’s poo in your room!”

“YA! Are you insane?!” I gritted my teeth at her.

“Yes I am!” she answered with the same level of anger.

Well, so much for housework designation.
