A few days went by and all Soomi ever did was stay at home; in bed. She didn't have the appetite to eat nor do anything. She was thinking of that particular day where she almost lost her life again. That day changed her. She wasn't that clueless girl who woke up from a coma anymore. She was a girl who knew things but didn't know what exactly to do with all of it. So much had happened and how was it possible that she forgot everything that had to do with Lay? No wonder she had always felt memories with the boys had been incomplete. Although she had always felt like something or someone was missing, she didn't know what or who it was.

Why was this bothering her? What ever she does, it was stuck on her mind. She couldn't stop thinking about it. That moment when she sat quietly with Lay after finding out everything else that was missing in her life before, she couldn't help but think of how did she feel back then? Was it very connected to her? Are those feelings still with her? Does she want it to stay? It was frustrating for her. No matter what she does, she can't seem to remember her past. It was more frustrating for her when she knows that it was affecting other people around her. She didn't want to hurt anyone.

But on this day, her thoughts drifted particularly on what Lay said the very last time they saw each other. Those moments flashed in her mind and she felt her heart sinking continuously as she continued to recalled his words. She didn't understand how it affected her so much that tears were streaming down her cheeks even by just recalling the words he uttered. She could feel her heart squeezing on the inside to the point that she couldn't breathe all of a suddenly. She was gripping onto the bed sheets as she gasped for air with tears streaming down her cheeks; unable to stop as she continue feeling pain in her chest.

Was her feelings still connected to the past? Does her heart remember but her memories was at lost? She even realized how she felt something familiar when Lay took her hands in his. She felt like something just like that had happened before. It was all so confusing but she grew curious. She wanted to know more. She wanted to finish the puzzle that felt like it was left unfinished but she knew she wouldn't be able to finish it alone. She didn't know if she was sure of this but she wanted it.

Picking up her phone, she called Sehun who picked up almost immediately. "What's wrong?", he asked sounding a little cold but Soomi had no time to waste on that. "Sehun-ah, he's flying off today right?", she asked which got Sehun's to be a little more cold but knowing it was Soomi, he couldn't hold himself there. Soomi could hear him letting out a deep breath, "He should be on the way to the airport now. If you want to get to him in time, you should leave now", he said before hanging up as he wasn't able to continue the conversation without getting even more angry on the inside.

Soomi quickly picked up her coat, her sling bag with her keys and her phone and rushed out. Without even informing her dad where she was off to. She had no time to waste. She quickly hailed a cab and asked him to speed as fast as he could to the airport. She was anxious. She didn't know what she was doing or how was she even going to do anything but she was following what her heart feels. They're telling her that she will regret the minute Lay gets on that plane and leave. It was the kind of regret she knew she didn't want to risk without knowing what were to happen without even giving it a try; just once at least.

A part of her knew she couldn't let Lay leave just like that. She herself felt something was left unfinished still. Maybe the whole story with Lay is that there'll forever be something unfinished between him and Soomi. Something they can't just leave and forget. It's an uneasy feeling deep inside but you can never put your finger on it. Soomi spent the whole journey in the cab thinking of what to say or what could she possibly do to make Lay stay but her mind was so overwhelmed with the situation she had putself in that she was shocked at how fast they got to the airport. She was so lost in her thoughts that she wasn't paying any attention to the world around her.

She took a moment realizing where she is and quickly collected every single ounce of courage that was left in her before leaving the cab. "Thank you!", she said before her legs brought her running off as fast as she could but the minute she entered the airport, she immediately crashed hard into someone. Soomi was shocked as she looked up and apologized but only to get even more shocked when the person she had bumped into was a face she was very familiar of. It was Luhan. "Soomi?", he asked but Soomi couldn't find the right words to explain anything. Especially when she's short of breath.

"No, there's no time for that or anything else. Soomi-ah... you need to stop him...", Luhan said holding Soomi by her shoulders tightly with a look so sad that Soomi immediately felt her heart aching listening to such words coming from Luhan. Knowing that this wasn't something easy for him to say when Luhan used to have interests in her but she had chosen someone else. She knew it took a lot of him to actually utter such words directly with his eyes straight locked onto hers.

Soomi stood still. Stuck, heavy breathing as she continued to listen attentively to Luhan. "If we... No, if you... don't stop him, he'll live with regrets. Maybe his whole life. He'll never be able to get himself back up or even bring himself back here. He'll disappear... He'll never be happy", Luhan said but stopped the minute he saw tears streaming down Soomi's cheeks as she lowered her eyes to the ground as she realized how much she didn't want that for Lay. She couldn't bare the aching in her heart knowing that she was about to lose Lay. She can't remember anything but she feels everything. Remembering only by heart. Listening to Luhan's words, she realized how she didn't want to lose Lay regardless if she doesn't remember anything. She was following her heart. Allowing her heart to guide instead of allowing her memories to decide for her. Regardless of anything, she wanted Lay to stay. Just like that, he was precious to her.

"Luhan-ah, I have to go... I have to stop him...", she said all of a sudden with her voice cracking as she looked up to Luhan who just watched speechlessly. As much as he didn't want to let her go, he knew his two best friends were bonded by their emotions and no one in the world can stop that. He wanted happiness in return, this will make him happy too. Luhan nodded his head, "Go... hurry up and go... he should be at the gate already", he said smiling lightly and with that, Soomi quickly wiped her tears and ran off; knowing that there was no time to lose as Lay could leave any time soon.

She didn't stop even for a moment. She didn't even took a second to breathe properly and the minute she saw that she was approaching the gate, her eyes quickly searched for Lay but the minute she couldn't find him which stopped her immediately in front of the gate; ruffling her hair roughly out of frustration as she turned around rapidly looking around if Lay was there. Did he leave already? Was she too late? She kept looking around to the point she couldn't do it anymore. She stood and stared at the gate before her and she could feel her tears gathering. I guess her emotions were right. She was going to regret the minute it was too late.

Her heartbeat started to slow down as the adrenaline died down slowly when she told herself to accept that she was too late after all. She lifted her head up, trying hard to hold in her tears. Why was she so upset that she felt like her whole world was crashing? Is this her true emotions towards Lay? She started bashing herself mentally. She was so stupid. How could she not remember it all? How could she even let him go off after finding everything out? Why didn't she stop him then? Was she so blinded that she ignored her emotions? Was she that blind before and now it's all too late?

It was over. It was immediately implanted in Soomi's head that it's all over. Lay had left and she had left them both in a miserable state. She regretted for not acting up early and now it's too late. It just time for her to go home with the most disappointed heart. Soomi lowered down her head once more, she couldn't stay here another second without it reminding her how she didn't manage to get Lay to stay. He probably thinks that she just let him go; without a single effort of trying to make him stay. She probably made him feel worthless like he wasn't worth fighting for but boy he's wrong. It was her fault for fighting for him a little too late and she'll never forgive herself for it. She won't allow herself to forgive herself or even carry on with an easy heart.

Soomi turned around but the second she took a step forward and looked up, she was stopped. When did he come? Was he behind her this whole time she didn't turn back? He was staring back at her. He was standing in front of her. It was him and she didn't need anything else to confirm that it was him. She knew by heart that it was him because she was too used to his presence. His aura, his vibe. She knew by heart that it was him because her heart remembers everything she had ever felt for him before. Happiness, pain, sadness, everything...

Lay looked sad but at the same time he was confused. Why was she here? Why is she in tears? Why is she shocked to see him? "Soomi-", Lay began to utter but was immediately cut off when Soomi didn't let him talk. "You can't leave", she said immediately when she heard him talk. She knew that if she stayed there again and just listened to him, he was going to leave regardless. She wanted to do everything she can to make him choose to stay. She took this moment as a second chance. She took this moment as a blessing in disguise that he hadn't left yet. This time, she's going to fight for him.

"You can't leave because I remember everything now...", Soomi said vaguely that Lay knew immediately she was lying. She doesn't remember it all. She was giving it as an excuse to make it really sound convincing. "Are you really going to leave me behind now that I remember it all?", Soomi asked with tears threatening her eyes and Lay lowered his head; dropping his bags onto the ground. He stepped forward and looked straight at Soomi. "Do you really remember everything?", he asked; eyes turning red. He was only wishing that she does but he knows she doesn't. He knew her and he knows that she was trying hard to even convince herself that she does remember.

Soomi looked a little scared all of a sudden when she heard him ask such a question. She didn't know if she could continue lying to herself as she could feel herself choking up but she didn't want him to go. She really wanted to believe in that herself. "Y... Yes", Soomi choked on her own voice because she wasn't able to her tears that were overflowing already but even then, she couldn't look away from Lay. She was suddenly scared thinking that he might just go still.

Lay sniffed as he cupped Soomi's face as tears pools of tears were forming in his eyes. "Stop that...", he said trying to smile at Soomi who was being silly but Soomi placed her hands on his and shook her head. "You can't go. I remember it all... I remember everything. Believe me", she said crying  now. She couldn't hold it in anymore which made it harder for Lay to contain himself too. He couldn't bare to watch her like this. "Stop it Soomi-ah... stop lying to yourself. Stop lying to me. Why are you doing this to me? Why are you doing this now? ", he asked; trying to get a hold of himself.

"I remember now... I really do Lay-ah! Trust me and don't go.... Why won't you believe me?", Soomi asked and this time was because she could feel Lay distancing himself from her emotionally. Tears streamed down his cheeks as he said, "I can't do this anymore Soomi. I can't..." That was when Soomi went speechless. He what? Even though she thought she wasn't too late, she is now. He had made up his mind that it was done. Soomi continued to look at Lay in the eyes and she could feel her heart breaking which only made her want him tot stay even more because she could feel that with every step he took leaving her, the more painful her heart was going to ache and she didn't know if she could live then.

Lay suddenly hugged Soomi as he couldn't look at her anymore. He just wanted to embrace her; even if it was the last time. "Forgive me this one last time okay?", he said and Soomi knew he was going to leave regardless. Hugging him tightly, "No. You can't. Don't go.... Don't go", she said burying herself in him. At this time, the boys had arrived at the airport and had found the two of them when they found Luhan watching them from a far which got them to stand aside and let them be without interuptions.

"I'll make it less painful. Just close your eyes. Trust me Soomi... one last time...", Lay said and this was it. He was going to leave. Soomi couldn't help but have tears streaming uncontrollably. How do you not have a break down when someone you know you love deep inside was leaving you and was never coming back? It was heart-breaking. "Shhh, just close your eyes... if you don't watch me go... you won't remember it. It'll be less painful for you", he said trying his hardest to push aside his desires. He had one hand on his head, holding her so close and dearly to him and his very own heart.

However, Soomi closed her eyes and calmed herself down. She knew that if he chose to leave, the right thing to do was to support him as he would be happier this way and him being happy was what she wanted. "When I let go of you...count to 10. That's my birthday month, you know that right?", he asked with his teary eyes as he chuckled lightly but Soomi stayed quiet; trying to build herself up before he actually leaves. She wanted to be strong. So strong that she wouldn't break right there and there.

"After that... I want you to leave this place and... don't turn back... Don't you turn back to look for me. Promise me that Go Soomi", Lay said and Soomi had to admit to herself then. This was the hardest thing she have to ever do. Soomi nodded her head as she bit her lips. Trying to hold the pain she was about to feel when he actually lets go of her and suddenly she heard him say, "I love you Go Soomi", while she was off guard and he was already letting her go. Planting a gentle kiss on her forehead. He wasn't sure if he'll ever be able to say that to her but he wanted her to know that he loves her. He wants her to remember that at least. "Wait", Soomi said trying not to cry when she quickly grabbed Lay's hands. She wasn't ready. She didn't want it all to happen.

If anyone were to see how Lay was at this time, they would all understand immediately how he felt with just one look. He was crying so badly but he kept quiet so that Soomi wouldn't know. He knows that she will live a better life without him. She was going to do wonders without him. As he stared at her, he was ready to leave her now. He was ready to let her go. "It's going to be okay... I promise", he assured her one more time and the next thing Soomi heard was, "Goodbye Soomi-ah", Lay said and this time he let her go completely. He held his sound once more as he cried, crouching down but he knew he had to leave before his 10 seconds are up. He quickly picked up his bags quietly and walked pass her. Telling himself not to look back. He quickly showed his passport and his boarding ticket and once he was through, he turned around. 10 seconds were up.

The first thing he saw was, Soomi looking from side to side and she then immediately ruffled her hair angrily before falling to the ground; crouching. As much as she didn't want to break down, as much as she built her courage and her guts, she was going to break down regardless. She wasn't capable of holding that pain in her heart now that Lay had left for good.

"Why did he leave?", Luhan asked out of panic when he saw what had happened with the rest of the guys. Everyone stayed quiet, they couldn't do anything to fix this anymore. It was over. Just like this. Sehun let out a heavy sigh and walked passed all of them, "He did it because he knows she'll be better off without him", he said as he walked towards Soomi who was breaking down not too far away from them; making his way to Soomi. As much as he is upset that Soomi had chosen Lay, he could never bring himself to abandon her. He loved her and she needed him. He knew that way too well.

The boys helped Soomi up and had decided to send her home. The least she needed was some rest after staying in front of the gate long enough to ensure that Lay had officially left on the plane to his home country. She had a lifeless look on her face. It was like her soul was lost. Lay had left for good and it felt like a part of her was taken away. She was right, she was going to regret when he leaves and she is. She is regretting. She was going to regret for the longest time.

In the car, Soomi sat by the window. Everything was quite. No one knew what to say or what to do. They dare not to even make a sound as Soomi stared out the window to the sky. She couldn't help but let a few tears streamed out. Sehun who was beside her could only mentally curse at Lay for leaving when she told him to stay. Wasn't that more than enough?, but he knew other intentions that Lay had so he was confused. He couldn't be on anyone's side at the moment. He can never be.

Soomi was at lost with her emotions. She was overwhelmed. At one point, she was sure she remembers everything. It felt like nothing changed, even her losing her memories didn't change anything but coming back to reality. Everything had changed. It was something that was out of her control and she hated that she was not in control of it.

**********

As Sehun held Soomi up and walked her home. "I'll keep you company today okay?", Sehun said once they got into her front yard of Soomi's house but Soomi didn't respond. All she could do was think and think and think about those last moments at the airport. Without her knowing, it was affecting her a lot. As they walked into the house, Soomi looked up to greet her father who was already at the door waiting for her. "Come in and rest", he said and even hearing that from her father made her want to cry. She felt like curling up in bed and never coming out ever again. She wanted it all to go away.

"The weather is so cold. Sehun-ah, go heat up the soup I made in the kitchen will you?", Soomi's father asked and Sehun immediately did that after taking off her coat and shoes. Meanwhile, Soomi and her father sat by the dining table. "Let's go to the movies later Soomi-ah", her father suggested. He knew what was going on by then, Sehun had informed him beforehand when he witness Soomi running out of the house early that day when she was headed to

Chapter 33: Author-nim well written! What a intricately written story, the varying levels of emotions was well displayed in all the characters and there was a lot of maturity from Lay. The strength and variety in the words and tones used throughout the whole story was probably the strongest point about your story :D
