Hello readers! I hope you'll like the chapter! Since I had extra time, I decided to make it a long update xx

Soomi sniffed with her shivering hands, she tried to keep her noises as low as possible but her tears just kept flowing and flowing like it's a river. She was trying so hard not to cry but felt like she was only making it worst as even more tears came streaming down her cheeks. She's been sitting on the bus for about an hour; stopping at every single stop but never getting off. From evening to night time. She didn't expect to come home to a chaos. All she remembered was coming home as usual. She went into the the front door, placing her coat and her bag on the couch but only taking her phone with her by placing it into her skirt pocker since she's wearing her uniform and called out for her dad but everything was in silence until she heard whispers. Soomi had a confused curious look on her face until she reached the kitchen and found her dad standing behind the counter facing someone she knew so well like it's written and drawn at the back of her hands. She turned her head and found a lady standing with her back facing Soomi. Soomi's stuttered, she knew exactly who it is. Her mother. Her one and only mother who had left them for almost 2 years. Soomi's eyes became confused, she wasn't sure if she wanted to cry or she wanted to be angry. She wasn't sure if she wanted to run to her mother to hug her or to just tell her to leave but it didn't matter when her mother turned around and looked at her.

"Soomi-ah, you've grown so tall and beautiful. You've grown to be such a beautiful woman", her mother said and the tears begin to gather at Soomi's eyes. She wasn't sad but she was angry. How dare she come back and say such words? How dare she stepped into the house that she destroyed? Soomi didn't reply her mother but yet she asked her a question right back, "Why are you here?". Soomi's dad stood in silence, he knew that this was the time for Soomi to let out what she feels but it all depends on her; whether she wants to or not. Soomi's mother took a deep breath, "I'm here for you. I want you to come and live with me. We were just discussing it before you arrived", she said which suprised Soomi even more but it also made her even more angry. It made the anger in her rise even more. "Me? Live with you? No", Soomi replied firmly with her tears dripping down to the floor but she wasn't crying anymore after that. She was furious. Soomi's mother looked disappointed at Soomi's answer and took a step towards Soomi calling her name out but Soomi took two steps back, "I said no. I want to live with my father not a stranger that I don't know", she said which stung her mother's heart deeply. One thing that could hurt a parent is when you tell them indirectly that you don't want anything to do with them anymore. Soomi's mother stood still looking at Soomi. She was left speechless. Soomi took a deep breath and looked at her father behind the counter who looks worried for both of the females standing in front of him. "Dad, please her out once your done. I'm going to see Sehun. I'll be back at night", she said before walking away. She didn't even think about the weather as she wanted to get out of the house as quickly as possible which only managed her to grab her bag only.

The moment the closed the front door, the weather hit her cold but she couldn't even feel it. She was still furious but her eyes was sad as tears took it's place and began to flow down her cheeks once again. She walked fast towards the bus station and immediately got on the bus when it arrived 20 minutes later. She sat on the bus with the empty seat beside her and couldn't help but just cry. She was broken. Once more. Broken on the inside by the thing that probably would hurt a person the most. A broken family. As she sat there, she began to shiver from the cold weather but she still paid no attention to it. Her mind was too busy debating and thinking over and over again.

As Lay stood at nearby the bus driver since he just got in, he debated. Should he run away or actually go to her. It's was his time to make a choice. To be by Soomi's side and betray Luhan or to stick by Luhan and let Soomi alone. Looking directly at Soomi, Lay's heart broke into pieces seeing how she's sobbing alone. His expression frowned and his eyes began to filled with sadness seeing Soomi this way for the first time. Without hesitations, Lay knew that he wanted to be beside Soomi. He knew from the start that he's going to choose her. He didn't care if he'll feel like he's cheating his own heart because of Jisoo but he knew very well that he cares a lot about Soomi and right now, he knows Soomi needs him since he's the only one there. If faith leads him to Soomi, it must mean something right? He thought. It must mean that Jisoo is probably never going to come back to him and he's already developing feelings for the girl who's right in front of him. Watching her in such condition had already broke his heart, he couldn't probably stand staying away from her but of course, he feels guilty towards Luhan but he can't help it. How do you stop a person from feeling?

"Soomi?", Lay said softly with his gentle voice before squeezing to his seat and faced her. Soomi wiped her tears quickly to cover up and smiled before she looked at Lay. Lay pretended not to know that she's crying and talked about something else first, "I thought you're at home?", he asked but Soomi shook her head trying to smile with her puffy red eyes, cheeks and lips. Lay stood up and took off his coat; placing is around Soomi who's shivering quite badly. Lay sat back down and smiled sincerely as he placed his hands on Soomi's cheeks; cupping her face before he softly wiped off her flowing tears using his two thumbs. Soomi looked at him a little confused; somehow her tears didn't feel as heavy as before, but before she could do or say anything Lay pulled her into a hug. The hug was unexpected but then Soomi realized how Lay's hug was warm, calming and loving. She felt like she's back at home in her bed when there's nothing to worry about. Not able to hug him back, Soomi closed her eyes to just cherish and embrace the moment. Her heart beat had also slowed down, it wasn't beating so fast anymore. Her breathing was also smoother than before. "It's okay. It's going to be alright. I'm here with you", Lay said in a soft whisper manner which only sounded like a lullaby to Soomi who still had her eyes closed as she was being hugged.

Lay on the other hand had a concern smile on his face. He knew that he still has feelings for Jisoo but he also has feelings for Soomi unexpectantly. Soomi's tears dried, but she stayed silent as the two of them took a stroll around her housing area. Lay smiled to himself before looking at Soomi who's walking beside him, "Are you feeling better?", he asked. Soomi nodded with a slight smile on her face. She had to admit that for a moment there, she forgot about everything that happened. Her focused was on Lay the whole time until he asked if she was okay. Soomi nodded, "I think we should go home. The weather is getting colder and there's school tomorrow too", she said as they reached in front of her house. She trying to hide her eyes from Lay because she knew and could feel that it is very swollen. Lay agreed but then he grew curious about Soomi who had her head low the whole time. He somehow felt the need to see her face, causing his hand to suddenly lift her head by her chin. Soomi looked at him with confused sad eyes, why was he doing this? Lay looked at her differently. Like there was something that he couldn't understand or explain but then a smile came on his face.

"You look pretty even when you cry", he said suddenly before tucking his hands in his pocket. Soomi kept quiet, it was a total change of atmosphere at it confused her deeply in her thoughts. She had completely forgotten about the incident at home that day. Lay was being a huge distraction at that moment. Lay continued to look at Soomi, "Sehunnie is not walking to school with you tomorrow right?", he asked. Being stunned again, Soomi shook her head with shut. Especially when Lay smiled again, "Alright, sleep well", he said as he pat her by the cheeks gently with his hand and walked away heading towards the bus stop. Soomi stood there watching him walk away. "Have a nice trip back home", she said to herself before taking another minute until he was out of sight and then headed into her house. Upon entering the house, her dad was already by the door waiting for her.

"Was that your friend?", he asked acting as if he forgotten about what happened earlier. Soomi nodded, "His name is Lay. A friend fro a different school actually", she said passing by her father and headed for the stairs with her father following her only up to the bottom of the stairs. "Aren't you hungry? I cooked", he quickly asked making Soomi stop halfway thinking about dinner. All that crying did make her very hungry therefore she turned around and nodded her head; following her father into the kitchen and sat down at the counter. "Appa, I really don't want to go with her", she said before eating. Her father stared at her for a little while with a worry look on his face but it then disappeared. He smiled while letting out a sigh, "Who says you're going anywhere? You're staying right here... where you

Chapter 33: Author-nim well written! What a intricately written story, the varying levels of emotions was well displayed in all the characters and there was a lot of maturity from Lay. The strength and variety in the words and tones used throughout the whole story was probably the strongest point about your story :D
