After a week of getting over jet lag and completely settling in, it was the start of another school year. It felt like every other summer’s end, but the only difference was that I was in China this time around - with Kris.

“Janice Ouyang! Get up!” Kris yelled in his morning voice as he pulled the covers of my body and dragged my limp body out of bed.

“One more minute! Just one!” I begged as I crawled back into bed against his forceful arms. I pulled my blanket from his arms and buried my body under it. I could already feel Kris glowering eyes piercing holes through my bed.

“No! Your one minute turns into five and that turns into half and hour and the next thing you know, we’re late! We can’t be late on our first day, you lazy bum!” he nagged like my mother.

“Kreaseeeee, please let me sleep!” I pleaded cutely with my eyes still closed and my head buried deep in my pillow.

“No. Get up and eat breakfast. Now,” he stated firmly.

In a quick movement, I ended up with my on the floor. Pain shot throughout my body when I realized that Kris scooped me off my bed and dropped me on the carpeted floor of my bedroom. “Hey! That hurt!”

“That’s what you get for refusing to get up,” he innocently shrugged his shoulders.
