Becoming Foreign Exchange Students
I Fell in Love with My Best Friend
Flyers reading "Announcement: Become Foreign Exchange Students!" were posted on bulletins across the entire school building. It was the end of junior year and seniors were given the option of becoming exchange students in a partner school in Beijing.
"Kris! Let's go to China! Our home country, baby!" I hollered at my Canadian best friend, Kris Wu, with a ghetto accent.
"But I just got here a year ago..." he whined. True, his family had only moved from Canada to the states last year and suddenly becoming exchange students in a country on another continent would definitely not benefit his case.
"But it's our mother country! And our grades are good enough, Mr. Salutatorian!" I reasoned. Although we already were attending a prestigious academy and he had only started studying here a year ago, he was able to breeze through all subjects and maintain a 3.987 unweighted GPA.
"Alright, alright, I get it Ms. Valedictorian and Debate Team Captain," he mocked. Yes, I'm not bragging, but I did maintain a 4.0 GPA throughout my three years so far at this high school and earned myself the honor of being ranked number one in my grade.
"We'll survive there, won't we?" I suddenly became worried at the change in environment.
"I doubt we'll die there," he chuckled. "I guess I can pick up a few hot Chinese babes at the meantime," he flashed me a cheesy smile along with a seductive wink.
I punched his chest playfully in response. "What makes you think they'd want your ugly ?" I challenged jokingly.
"Who wouldn't want a piece of this hot damn?" he motioned to himself.
"Why, that was very humble of you, sir," I rolled my eyes and walked
