I Fell in Love with My Best Friend
I Fell in Love with My Best FriendBGM: Jason Chen - "Best Friend"
“Jan! Janice! Come on, open up!” I heard Kris’s voice sound from the other side of the door. I remained silent as he continued to pound on my door and rattle the door knob. I was not upset or heartbroken - no.
I was furious, completely and utterly enraged at his actions. I was so furious that tears pooled at my lower lids. I was so angry that I begal chuckling darkly. Who was he to lie to me? Well, technically, he didn’t outright lie, but white lies were of the same weight, no? Perhaps he was no one, so he remained a nobody.
“Janice Ou-”
“What the do you actually want, Kris?!” I literally screamed into his chest, because I, in no way, could reach his face, when I opened the door forcefully. When he didn’t immediately respond, I stared blankly at him; no, I glowered at him with piercing eyes. “So?”
“I-um-I...I was-”
“Speak, Kris. I’m seriously in no damn mood for this.”
“I’m sorry,” he whispers while gazing into my eyes. I knew that look, but I did not want to admit the hidden message behind those orbs anymore. Was it even true anymore?
We both didn’t move for the longest period of time, but I broke our staring contest by breaking away and turning back to my room. “About time you said that.”
“Janice, look.” He stopped me. “I didn’t mean it.” I faced him again and cocked a challenging eyebrow. “Okay, maybe I did.” He looked down at the floor, as if contemplating the proper words to string together to form a flawless explanation. “I didn’t know at first…” Okay, that’s believable. “But when you started talking about him, I put two and two together.” Did you really now, Kris Wu? “And I realized that we actually grew up together.”
“So why didn’t you tell me?”
He looked into my eyes with a bland look. “I was getting there.”
“Fine.” I raised my hands in surrender.
