I'll Be Here
I Fell in Love with My Best Friend
“Answer my question, you pig,” I scorned at Eli as he simply continued to cheekily grin at me.
“Fine, fine. Gosh, you’re so mean. I haven’t seen you in an entire year and this is how you treat me,” he feigned hurt. “It’s christmas break so my dad sent me here to set up a collaboration with Two Moons hotel.”
“Oh,” I nodded slowly. His father was the owner of KKJ Corps., which owned the Neverland Hotel chain in the United States. “So how long are you staying?”
“A month, which means I’ll be spending my entire break working,” he sighed. “But at least now I won’t spend Christmas alone!”
“Who said I wanted to spend Christmas with you?”
“Who said I’ll be spending Christmas with you?”
“Then who else in China will you spending it with? K-Kris?” My eye twitched when his name came out my own mouth. To further confuse me, Eli simply nodded. “B-but Kris hates you!”
“I guess the feelings are mutual, then,” he shrugged.
“What?” I was so confused at this point. Barely being able to get any sleep last night certainly was not helping the case either.
“I’m kidnapping you for Christmas, kay?” he flashed me a flirty wink.
“You make no sense,” I said as I dragged myself toward the building. “I have to get ready for school.”
“But it’s not even five,” he examined his black Movado Series 800 watch.
I just shrugged casually and walked into the building. Before I even realized it, I was out the elevator and before the very door that I used to shut Kris off just hours before. I slid open the compartment over the lock and slowly punched in each number of the code that I engraved into my memory. The lock beeped and clicked; I hope it didn’t wake Kris up. Even if it did, he ignored it. As I meticulously pushed open the black door, I was welcomed by a silent, barren living room. I guess I was mostly relieved that I didn’t have to face Kris again.
I proceeded to the bathroom to take a quick five-minute shower, brush my teeth, and wrap myself in a white bathr
