I woke up with a fever and a big headache the next day so I didn’t go to school. I knocked out for most of the day but then woke up again in the afternoon discovering that a girl’s been in my room while I was sleeping. Creepy.

“Hey! You woke up!” Scarlett said.

I mumbled while holding my brains in. “Hey. What are you doing here?”

“Well your parents had to go somewhere and they asked me to babysit you.”

Babysit? I’m older than her! What were my parents thinking? I thought I was never to be left alone in a room with a girl anyways?

“Oh yeah, I also brought your homework for you.” She pointed to the stack of papers and text books next to her.

“Okay thanks.”

“Are you feeling better? Do want some medicine?” She asked.

“Kinchana, komawo.”

“Here at least eat this soup your mom made before leaving, and drink some water too.” She handed me a cup of water which I gulped down quickly.

Lying back down, I couldn’t fall asleep. I was surprised I didn’t even notice that Scarlett was still there with me in my room cause she was so quiet.

“Locker buddy?” I asked quietly.

“Hm?”

“Why are you so quiet?”

“haha I’m doing our homework. I’m sorry I’m not loud enough.” She said.

Smiling I turned to look over at her. She was concentrated on her… wait did she say our homework?

“Ours? What do you mean?” I asked her.

“Well since your sick and your also new I thought I would do your homework for you,” she said without looking up. “You lucky . I normally would forget I even had homework and not do it. But now I’m even doing double homework. Haven’t you thought of how much I went through for you?” She finally lifted up her head to show me she was pouting. I couldn’t help but smile at her cuteness.

“Here let me help you. I think I’m feeling a bit better.” I was getting out of bed when she rushed over.

“Hell naw! You ain’t gettin yo out of that bed mister! You’re still sick you gotta get better so you can go to school tomorrow. If you wanna help I’ll just bring the homework over to you. Araso?” She said sternly.  

“Haha what’s up with you and your grammar? Ain’t isn’t even a word.” I corrected her.

“Oh ya know. I’m just cool.” She said laughing. I sat criss cross apple sauced while she sat on the other end of the bed with the homework in between us.

“Okay, let's do dis,” she with determination. 30 minutes passed by and she threw the papers onto the ground and put her hands to her head and started to kick her legs. “This is too hard!” She whined.

“Woah, where’d your determination go? Lets do dis!” I tried to sound like her but failed miserably.

She was laughing with that eye smile of hers again, she calmed down a bit. She got onto the floor and just layed there. I layed down on my stomach on the bed and with my arm dangling from the bed, I poked her.

“Yah, I thought we were supposed to be doing homework. We’re not even half way done.” I told her.

“Shut up.” I couldn’t help but feel a bit hurt. “I don’t wanna do homework!” She suddenly looked up at me with this happy crazy expression and asked “you wanna play a game?”

“Okay, but not for long we have a lot of homework to finish.”

“Yay! You’re the best homework buddy ever!” She quickly got up and sat on the bed again and began to teach me the game.

“Okay, this games called Pikachu, we play rock paper scissors but instead we say pi-ka-chu. Then who ever wins gets to pinch the other persons cheek. And whoever gets to pinch both cheeks, wins,” she explained.

“Pikachu!” We both yelled. I won! I pinched her right cheek and proceeded to play the game. “Pikachu!” I won again. I pinched both her cheeks this time as hard as I could.

“Owwiiee! Hey! That wasn’t fair!” She said rubbing her cheeks. I was laughing at her rosey cheeks and the expression on her face was just hilarious. “What’s so funny?! Aish you get back to work mister!” I laughed at her some more and proceeded to do my homework so she wouldn’t get even more mad at me.

“Hey, Woohyun? You know how to do this problem here?” She asked me.

“Here let’s see.” She at algebra I spent the rest of the time tutoring her on algebra.

“Wow.” She said in awe. “Oppa, you’re so smart.” She was looking at me with hung open. Then changed her expression to anger. “Why can’t I be the smart one? Gosh.”

“Haha, cause you’re a babo!” I told her. She glared at me with her lips puckered. I went on laughing at her, she threw her eraser at me which made me laugh even harder. We heard a knock on the door and my mom came in. I stopped laughing and looked over to mom.

“Oh Woohyun-ah, your not sick anymore? Why are you laughing so hard?” My mom asked.

“Because Scarlett doesn’t know how to do basic algebra,” I said chuckling.

“Mrs. Nam! Woohyun’s making fun of me!” She pouted and pointed at me.

“Woohyun! Be nice to her she took care of you when you were sick and even did your homework!”

“Haha, araso I was only kidding.”  I assured them.

“Well. I should be going then, Mrs. Nam. If you need anymore help I’m always willing to help out!” Scarlett said.

“Oh thank you! You’re so sweet. Well if you’re going then Woohyun will walk you home again, and of course! I’m gonna have to burden you some more cause I think I can only trust you!” My mom said.

“Hey! I can help too.” I pouted.

“No you can’t!” Scarlett stuck her tongue out at me. My mom laughed and closed the door and left.

“Okay! Let’s walk you home chicken!” I yelled out.

“Chicken? I am not!”

“Well whose the one that can’t man up and walk home alone?”

“You’re a chicken , you’re a chicken . I’m not a chicken !” She sang while dancing. “Its okay, your sick anyway. I can go by myself. I’m super woman.” I laughed at her little song and dance, and laughed even harder when she said she was super woman! She glared at me again with her lips puckered and poked my stomach.

“No I kinda want some fresh air anyway.” I told her.

“Okay, but only half way alright?” I nodded and helped her put her stuff away in her back pack. We then went outside.

“The stars are so pretty!” She said.

“I’m prettier.” I told her.

“Ha you wish, Woohyun!”

“Look! Shooting Star!”

“What? Where! Where?!” She looked around and when there was no shooting star, turned towards me and gave me that glare again. I smiled and pinched her cheeks.

“Okay, its half way. You can make it the rest of the way right?” I asked.

“Yes, I can. Remember? I’m super woman!” She put her fist in the air as if she were to take flight any moment.

“Haha, araso. See you tomorrow Scarlett!”

“Okay! Bye!” I waved as I watched her walk to her house.
