The first one and a half weeks off in La went by quickly and before they knew it, they only had a few days left. “Let’s go out! Have some fun! Eat some food!” Chanyeol yelled after their manager had left, reminding of their approaching departure. There were some murmurs of agreement around the room. Soon, with the help of Kris and his English skills (“Isn’t this why we have Nina?”For this he received a kick from Lay) and the nice lady at the front desk, they had chosen a resasonably priced restaiurant that seemed to their liking.

”I’ll go tell Ava!” Kai jumped up, excited for the chance to see her again. She still hadn’t quite forgiven him for that sleeping thing, and he was hoping to convince her to like him again. Everyone just looked at him. “…And Nina and Stephanie…?” He added. Kris raised an eyebrow and nodded. Kai smiled sheepishly before running out the room and down the hall to let the girls know.

About an hour everyone was ready to go. This was actually quite a feat, considering there were so many people to gather up. But they managed it and off they went. “It’s a bit windy,” Lay commented to Nina, “Are you cold?” He looked at her in concern. She smiled,

“No, I’m fine. Thank you.” He wrapped an arm around her anyway as they continued walking. Chanyeol and Baekhyun ran a bit ahead of the group, being loud and drawing attention to themselves.

“Guys. Please be quiet.” Suho sighed, putting a hand to his foredhead. Kris patted his sholder,

“Let me take care of it.” He smiled at the Korean leader before turning his eyes on the two rowdy members, “Chanyeol. Baekhyun.” He didn’t yell or raise his voice, but his voice carried and they heard him perfectly. They paused,

“Hmm?”

“You’re giving Suho a headache.” Kris stated, expecting that to be enouh to settle them down.

“Oh.” Chanyeol said, looking down. Oddly enough, it was enogh. Suho looked at Kris in awe,

“You really need to teach me how you do that.” He comented.

“Sorry, it’s the height.” Kris said casually. Suho blinked rapidly and frowned turning away. D.O. patted him on the back,

“It happens Hyung. The world is cruel. Right Jongdae?” Chen frowned,

“Why me!?”

“You’re short.” Chen was flustered for a second.

“Well… You’re shorter! Nyeh!~” He stuck out his tongue at D.O. and traipsed away, slinging (or at least attempting to) his arm around Sehun’s shoulders. Sehun secretly lowered himself so that he could reach better.

Finally they reached the restaurant and all hell broke loose with Chanyeol trying to rap along to the song playing in the restaurant and Sehun and Tao fighting over seats next to Suho and Suho trying to hide behind Kris. Finally, everyone settled down a bit and they were able to get seated. Two waitresses were assigned to their table, due to the large number, and they approached the group with wide eyes. The first began speaking to Tao, trying to take his drink order. He just stared bak at her blankly, not understaning a word. She blushed, unable to understand the problem. Kris, catching on, turned and spoke to her,

“He doesn’t speak English.” He told her in his own accented English. The girl’s eyes widened,

“Actually, none of them do.” Nina piped up. “Only us four.” She motioned to the English speakers. The girl’s eyes widened even more.

“Okaaay…” She said.

“Nina. You’re our translator. Translate.” Kris said. She sent him a look.

“Fine.” And so Kris began asking the members around him what they wanted, just as the other three did. Soon they managed to settle the drinks, although it was not without much difficulty.

“No Sehun, they do not sell bannana milk here. Restaurants in Korea don’t even sell that, where do you think we are? A convienience store?” Kris struggled with the maknae, who had obviously begun to miss the comforts of Korea. “No, they don’t have bubble tea either, gosh!” Kris exclaimed after Sehun attemped to place another ridiculous order. Kris turned to the waitress, “Coke. He’ll have coke.” She nodded, writing down that last order before excusing herself.

Reading the menu was by far the hardest part of their evening though, “That says Chicken. I know that.” Xiumin said prodly while Nina was helping him order, pointing to a heading on the menu.

“Do you want chicken?” She asked.

“No. But I know that says chicken.” Nina face palmed.

Across the table, Ava was having her own translating difficulties,

“Ava, what’s this say?” Baekhyun turned to her in curiousity, pointing to the drink page. She peered over at it, then got flustered,

“It’s not important! You don’t need that!”

“What is it?” Kai asked, noticing her alarm, leaning over into her space, causing her to get even more flustered. D.O. flipped to the page Baekhyun was talking about and squinted,

“Alcohol.” He smirked.

“Ohhh!” Kai and Baekhyun nodded while Ava attempted to slide down as far as possible into her chair.

“Hello!” Chanyeol called to people as they passed by their table. “Hello!”

“Chanyeol.” Stephanie called. He looked at her. “What are you doing?”

“Being friendly.”

“Don’t do that.”

“What?” He looekd like a kicked puppy and she sighed, feeling bad for stopping his fun.

“They think you’re weird.” Kris finished the thought for her and Chanyeol pouted.

The restaurant, it turned out, had a live band that night. The group watched in interest as they began singing and crooning into their mics. D.O. scoffed at their supposed lead vocalist,

“I could do better than that.”

“I think Kris could do better than that.” Chen added, wincing as the guy went off key again.

“Hey.” Kris glared at him. Chen smiled sweetly at him, shrugging,

“It’s the truth Duizhang. You’re better than him. You shoul d be happy.” Kris watched him for a moment, unsure as to how to proceed. Stephanie just laughed at them. What dorks.

Meanwhile, Nina and Lay were off in their own little world,

“So there were these three animals. They were having a race or something for some reason. The turtle was really slow, so he didn’t get too far, but the pigeon tried hard, trying to fly as an advantage, but it ended up being no match for the mightly unicorn.” Lay finished telling Nina his strange dream,

“Aw, I like turtles. They’re so cute.”

“But slow. Duh.”

“And pigeons are pretty cute too.”

“Please, they have nothing on unicorns okay. Don’t make me laugh.” Nina rolled her eyes,

“I guess you’re right. Unicorns are pretty cool.”

“Yeah!” Lay cheered and she laughed.

“I personally,” Luhan began, sticking his head into the conversation, “Like deer.”

“Oh shut up Luhan. You’re lame.” Luhan cackled at his lame attempt at a joke and went back to bothering Kai and Ava on the other side of him, pulling out his phone to showcase their sleeping photo. Ana’s face was bright red and she almost succeded in snatching his phone that time, but Luhan was able to pull it away just in time.

Hi! I'm back! Sorry once again for taking so long, but I swear I actually have most of the next chapter written so it won't take me a month for that one. :P
