Chapter Ten: Missing You
Where Fate Takes Us
Lay POV
I couldn’t take it. I was going slightly crazy. I didn’t like being away from Nina for so long. It was weird… She’s always here. Laughing and goofing off with all of the members. Teasing and being teased by Kris, scolding Xiumin for taking her things, gossiping with Luhan about some Chinese artist, running from Tao’s aegyo, listening as Chen practices his Chinese with an admirable patience. Sometimes she’s able to get Xiumin to practice with them to, but she has to catch him first. -.- Silly baozi.
I reminisced over all of these memories, but was brought back to a bitter reality when I opened my eyes to find that it was not Nina’s hand I was holding, but a doe-eyed Luhan. I groaned and let go of his hand, wiping my hands over my face.
“So… Lay… What’s up?” Luhan asked finally. I sighed and shook my head, my hands still covering my face. “Do you really miss Nina?” I sighed and nodded. Why is he always so right?
Well…
It probably wasn’t that hard to guess what was wrong with me…
It was kinda obvious…
But still!
Luhan sighed and patted my back,
“We’ll see her again soon. Everything’s going to be fine.” I nodded,
“I know.”
“Just a few more days before we leave for LA and you can see her.” He added with a smile. I looked over at him with a small smile on my lips.
“Thanks gege.” He nodded and smiled,
“Anytime didi. I’m here to listen if you need to talk.” He stood up and streatched, “Why don’t you call her? It’ll make you feel better.” I sighed,
“Yeah… But it’s late there…” Luhan laughed,
“So? Try. I’m sure she’s up. If not, she’ll be happy to get up if it means talking to you.” I rolled my eyes and he laughed, leaving the room. I sighed and pulled my phone out of my pocket.
“I guess he’s right…”
I got out my laptop and called her on skype. Amazingly enough she was still up and answered immediately,
“Yi Xing!~” She called as soon as she saw me. I smiled; all of my stress washing away for the moment. “What’s up?” She asked.
“I was just missing you.” Luhan poked his head into my room,
“He was moping about acting all depressed. I suggested that he call you.” I scowled and threw a shoe at him. He laughed and jumped out of the way. “Aigoo~ That’s no way to treat your gege.” He mock chidded. Then he ran out of the room before I could find the other shoe and throw it at him. Nina smiled back at me,
“It’s only a few more days and we’ll both be in LA!” I smiled and nodded,
“I know. I’m really happy to get to see you again.”
“Me too. It’s been so strange being away from you and the rest of EXO. But mostly you.” I smiled as she said this. It really was strange without her here. I couldn’t wait to see her in LA. It’s just about to be six weeks now since we’ve seen each other in person. In someways that was a huge amount of time, and in others, it was nothing. But it was taking a toll on me. Kai had even mentioned how my dancing was lagging a bit recently. I hoped that once we were all back together again, the way things were supposed to be, things would be different: better.
