Nina POV

I was sitting up in our room reading a book. Suddenly Stephanie came charging through the door, slamming it shut behind her. I looked up in surprise,

“Uhh, Stephanie? What’s wrong?”

“Kris is stupid. That’s what’s wrong.” She tossed off her shoes and stomped into the room. She collapsed onto the couch beside me. I just stared at her,

“…What’d he do?” I finally asked.

“Gladly. Psh. Who does he think he is!? Just because he’s the leader of EXO M doesn’t make him better than me. What did I even do to make him hate me so much!? Ugh!” She stomped her feet on the ground and crossed her arms over her chest.

“Okay. Stop and tell me what happened.”

“Kris! Yah! Kris! Open up!” I pounded on the door. I was ready to get to the bottom of this. I mean, sure Kris could be a little mean at times, but that was only after he knew you. It was a friendly kind of mean. But this was just uncalled for. And it didn’t make sense. I thought that he liked her… The door finally opened and Lay stepped out.

“I need to speak to Kris.” Lay sighed,

“I know. We know why you’re here, but he really doesn’t want to talk about it. He’s beating himself up in there.”

“Well, what happened?! I thought he liked her! Why was he a complete jerk!?” I asked in a hushed voice. Lay sighed and ran a hand through his hair,

“It seems that this is Kris’ fatal flaw. He can’t express himself well… And so, this tends to be what happens…” I sighed, “I’ve talked to him. We’re all trying to figure out how best to help him. But, he’s not happy. He’s just… yeah.”

“Yeah, well Stephanie just came up slamming the door and such. I haven’t seen her this angry in a long time. And I mean, I totally undersand. It’s heartbreaking. She’s loved Kris since you’re debut. To have him be such a jerk towards her is crushing. I can’t even imagine.” Lay nodded and smiled at me,

“Yeah. I know.” He sighed, “He’s so dense. Why can’t he see that?” I shook my head,

“I don’t know.” It was silent for a moment, then,

“Nina?”

“Hmm?”

“Why don’t we go and do something? It’s been so long. Since you’ve gotten here I’ve just been practicing. We have the rest of the day off to rest before our final rehersals tomarrow. Let’s go out. Get away from all of this drama.” I smiled up at him softly,

“Yeah. Let’s do that.” He smiled and grabbed my hands,

“Meet me downstairs in ten minutes?” I smiled and nodded. He grinned before leaning down to kiss my cheek sweetly. I giggled as he pulled away. He gave me one more adorable grin before bounding back into his hotel room. I sighed and shook my head, smiling to myself the whole way back to my room. I went in and found Ava and Stephanie sitting on the couch together.

“Oh! Nina! Hey… Why are you so happy?” I laughed and shook my head,

“Yi Xing and I are gonna go out for awhile. Will you all be okay?” They smiled at me,

“Ohhh! Nina and Yi Xing!~” Stephanie laughed and I blushed. Ava giggled.

“Whatever. You guys know where to find EXO if you need anything.” They nodded, laughing at my blushing face. “Aish you guys!”

I changed quickly and went to go meet Lay in the lobby. At first I didn’t see him. As I looked around, I began to frown. How are we going to get out of here? There are fans everywhere! Seriously, everytime someone came into view, they all watched expectantly; hoping to see an SM artist. I was just about to call Yi Xing on my phone when someone placed there hands over my eyes. I froze. I heard a familiar laugh and relaxed,

“Yah! Pabo! You scared me!” I smacked in the direction of his head behind me,

“Ow! Hey!” He released me and rubbed a place on his head. I laughed at the sight before me. He had a baggy sweashirt on, the hood was pulled up, and he had on glasses. Honestly he looked like some sleepy college kid; too lazy to wear real clothes. The illusion was especially helpful since the hoodie was from a nearby college. I laughed and he pouted, “What?” I smiled,

“Hen ke ai (very cute).” He continued to pout. I began pushing him towards the entrance, “Come on. Let’s go before anyone notices you.”

We were miraculously able to get outside without anyone stopping us or suspecting Yi Xing. We got away from the hoards of fans and were able to finally relax. He pulled down his hood and I laughed. I reached up and brushed his hair down with my fingers. The hood had caused his hair to stick out in all directions. As I began to pull my hand away, he reached up and grabbed it. He smiled sweetly at me and I swear my heart skipped a beat. How can someone be so amazing?

We walked along leisurly. We had no real destination. We were simply enjoying eachother’s company, and enjoying the city around us. We tried not to stray to far from the hotel, considering neither of us knew the area. Luckily the area around the hotel provided us with some enjoyable sights. Everyone had been so busy practicing, that they had hardly even left the hotel. Lay was completely amazed at everything. I was too, but it wasn’t the same for me. I grew up in America, experiancing similar sights, just in another city. But he was used to a completely different culture. While he lived in a large city in China, LA was simply a whole new experience for him; he people, the buildings, the culture. As we walked, I began trying to explain different things to him. I told him about living in America, explaining more indepth into the differences between America and China, or even Korea. He listened intently as I explained, nodding as he took it all in.

After a while of walking along hand-in-hand, I came to a realization,

“Yi Xing,”

“Hmm?”

“Do you realize, this is the first time we’ve ever been able to do this is public?” I raised our hands, indicating what I meant. His eyes widened,

“Oh! You’re right!” He smiled and squeezed my hand. He stopped for a moment, thinking. Suddenly he tugged on my hand and started running,

“Yi Xing! Wha-?” He laugehd as he ran,

“You’ll see!”

He kept running, pulling me along with him, untill we came to an ice cream shop.

“Ice cream?” I asked. He nodded,

“This called for a celebration!” I laughed at his childishness, although I definatly wasn’t complaining. I walked forward and pulled him in with me. We were greeted by a young worker. We walked forward to inspect the different flavors. I decided on mine, and turned to Yi Xing,

“What do you want?” I asked him. He continued to ponder,

“I don’t know…” I smiled. Finally he was able to come to a decision and I ordered for us. Initially, he startled the poor girl behind the counter by ordering in rapid mandarin. But then he realized he was no longer in China and slinked off to go hide in the corner. I laughed at his forgetfullness and approached the girl,

“Sorry. He’s forgetful.” She smiled and blushed, still flustered by Lay’s rapid mandarin.

I placed our order and went to find Lay. He had taken a seat in the back of the shop, hiding his head in hie arms. I sat down opposite him and poked his arm,

“Yah. Yi Xing. Cheer up. It was kinda cute, to be honest.” He groaned and I continued to poke him. Finally, while I was in mid-poke, he sat back up. He reached out and grabbed my hand that was poking him,

“Stop that.” He gripped my hand in the two of his. I blushed under his intense stare, but he didn’t falter. Finally I reached up with my other hand and poked him.

“Poke.” He sighed and fell forward, exasperated. I giggled. Just then the girl approached us with our order. I nudged Lay and he sat up, looking down in embarassment.

“Here you go.” She smiled. She turned to go, but stopped, “By the way. I just want to say… You two are a really cute couple.” She grinned,

“Oh, thank you!” I said, surprised. She nodded and went back to the front of the store. Lay stared at me, waiting for translation,

“What’d she say?” I blushed,

“She said that we’re a really cute couple.”

“Well, we are! Finally someone appreciates us!” He shook his head, as if he had been wronged in some way. I just shook my head and laughed.

We began eating and talking.

“Hmm… I want to try yours!” He finally declared. I laughed,

“Okay…” I held out my cup for him to try. He shook his head,

“No, feed me.” I blanched,

“What?!” He smiled at me cheekily,

“Come on. Please!~” I sighed and shook my head while scooping some onto my spoon.

“Here.” I held it out and he opened his mouth, leaning towards me. I fed him and he leaned back and smiled. “Do you like it?” He nodded,

“It’s better since you fed me.” I pretened to gag and he pouted, “It is! Here, try!” He stuck out his spoon for me to try. I did so reluctantly and he beamed at me, “So?” I blushed and looked away.

He was right.

It was better.
