I Think You're Beautiful

Only You

Ji Hyun was at her apartment cleaning her entire place just to make sure it was perfect for when Chanyeol comes on Saturday. Considering she hasn’t talked to him in almost more than a year, she wanted to make sure everything was perfect. After she was finished cleaning, Ji Hyun looked at the polished apartment pretty proud. She nearly collapsed on the floor, when she heard someone knock on the door.

Ji Hyun groaned and tiredly got up dragging her feet to the door. When she opened the door she saw Baekhyun with a bouquet of roses. Baekhyun had the biggest smile on his face making his cute eye smile Ji Hyun always laughed at.

“What are you doing here?” Ji Hyun asked, she didn’t realize how tired she actually was until hearing her voice.

“I um… Wanted to surprise you, but I guess you’re tired?” Baekhyun replied.

“No, I was just cleaning up for when my brother gets here,” Ji Hyun told Baekhyun.

            “Ha Joon?”

“No, my other brother, Chanyeol,” Ji Hyun corrected. “He’s coming tomorrow so I have to clean up since he’ll be staying with me.”

“Oh, so then tonight, did you want to go get some dinner?” Baekhyun asked with his cute smile that Ji Hyun could never resist.

“I would, but I can’t. I have a job interview and I have to pick up Ha Joon right afterwards and I’ll probably have to get some sleep since Chanyeol gets here in Seoul really early tomorrow,” Ji Hyun said quickly in one breath. She inhaled deeply to catch her breath.

“That’s alright…” Baekhyun’s smile disappeared and his lips were now forming a frown. “If you want I can go to the job interview with you.”

“You can if you want, but I’m interviewing to work at a bridal store. Do you really want to sit in a bridal store?”

“Well, sure, won’t I be going to one when I’m married?”

Ji Hyun started chuckling at the sound of Baekhyun talking about being married. He never actually seemed like the marrying type to Ji Hyun. To Ji Hyun, Baekhyun reminded her of a child. “Just to let you know the bride goes to the bridal store to pick out her dress, the groom isn’t supposed to see the dress until the actual wedding day. No offense Baekhyun, but you don’t really seem like the married type.”

“What do you mean? I’m going to get married to a woman that looks as beautiful as BoA,” Baekhyun joked. “Who are you going to marry?”

“I don’t know who I’m going to marry,” Ji Hyun replied. She collapsed on the couch next to Baekhyun.

He wrapped his arm around her shoulder bringing her in closer. “You can marry me.”

“Haha very funny, but I don’t look like BoA.”

Baekhyun felt a little hurt, by Ji Hyun’s answer. He knew she probably thought he was kidding, but he was serious. He truly wanted to marry Ji Hyun, even though she only saw him as her friend, he loved Ji Hyun ever since he first met her seven years ago. He just hoped that Ji Hyun felt the same.

When Ha Joon arrived to his piano lessons, Luhan couldn’t help but wonder where Ji Hyun was. Ha Joon was escorted by his mother, who was talking on the phone about how she would be late for her meeting because she had to take Ha Joon to his lessons. “Why didn’t she just ask Ji Hyun to take him if she was going to be late for her meeting?” Luhan thought to himself.

Once Mrs. Hwan kissed her son goodbye, Ha Joon jumped onto his usual spot in front of the piano and just looked up at his hyung. “Hyung, what are you looking at?”

Luhan almost forgot about Ha Joon. “Where’s Ji Hyun?”

Ha Joon shrugged, he already started to play Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, as it was already lodged in his brain. “Noona is with her boyfriend.”

“Boyfriend? Ji Hyun has a boyfriend?” Luhan nearly shouted shocked. The last time he talked to Ji Hyun she said she didn’t have a boyfriend.

“Baekhyun is Noona’s friend that’s a boy, he boyfriend,” Ha Joon told Luhan. Ha Joon was a little confused by Luhan’s panicked face. “Hyung, are you okay?”

“Nothing, I’m fine.” Luhan felt a wave of relief over him when Ha Joon told him that Baekhyun was just Ji Hyun’s friend.

The bridal store was beyond Ji Hyun’s amazement. The entire room looked like a ballroom, with thousands of weddings gowns surrounding it. There was a glass chandelier right above a glass table with two long couches that were made from silk. She traced her fingers on the soft silk and couldn’t help but admire all of the dresses that were a pure milky white, some with tiny diamonds glistening on the corsets.

It was a shame Baekhyun didn’t want to come with Ji Hyun, but he told Ji Hyun that he would call her tomorrow to see if Ji Hyun and Chanyeol wanted to hang out with him.

Mrs. Xi walked in and saw Ji Hyun, mesmerized by one of the dresses. “Are you Ji Hyun?”

Ji Hyun jumped a little at the sound of someone else. “Yes, I uh… I love the dresses her.” Feeling a little embarrassed that Mrs. Xi walked in on her looking at her wedding dresses like a little girl, just made her way to the long couch and sat down nicely. “It was nice of you to offer me a job, I’m sorry but I don’t think we’ve ever actually met before unless we have, my mom has a lot of friends.”

“I remember seeing you when you were much younger, but you probably wouldn’t remember,” Mrs. Xi told Ji Hyun.

“So… For the interview, should I just tell you about my work experience?” Ji Hyun wondered.

“Well being a bridal consultant is getting to know your client, so just tell me about yourself,” Mrs. Xi said.

“Well, I don’t really know where to start, of course you know my parents and then there’s my two younger brothers, Chanyeol and Ha Joon-“

“You don’t have a sister? It must be rather lonely being the only girl.”

“Uh… No not really, I don’t think I would have liked having a sister anyways, having all those fights, sharing clothes, it would have been annoying.”

            “What about your brothers?”

“Chanyeol is only two years younger than me; he’s always been so different though,” Ji Hyun admitted. She felt a little sad saying that Chanyeol was so different, it was things like that was probably one of the reasons he was so happy to get away. Everyone always asked Ji Hyun’s parents if Chanyeol was adopted or if Ji Hyun’s mom cheated.

“What made him so different than you and Ha Joon?” Mrs. Xi wondered.

“I don’t know. He’s the only out of my family that has gold brown hair, but my mom says it’s from my dad’s side.”

“What about Ha Joon? Isn’t that a really big age difference?”

“I guess, but unexpected stuff happens, right?” Ji Hyun felt a little uncomfortable with Mrs. Xi asking her all these questions that seemed sort of personal, but she didn’t want to sound rude and not answer them.

Luhan was finished with his last lesson, after about 15 minutes with one of student’s mother on how beautiful Luhan’s work is and how she couldn’t believe that Luhan didn’t have a girlfriend yet, he was happy to see them leave. He made his way out of the auditorium and sadly remembered that he had to get ready for his date with Reira. As he was walking down the steps of the stairs, he saw Ha Joon sitting there by himself. Luhan looked at his wrist watch, it was 7:30, Ha Joon was waiting there for an hour.

“Ha Joon? What are you still doing here?” Luhan sat next to Ha Joon. “Especially outside in the cold?”

“Someone is supposed to pick me up,” Ha Joon said weakly. Luhan could tell my Ha Joon’s red blotchy face that he was crying earlier.

            “Do you know who exactly?”

Ha Joon looked down at his hands and shook his head slowly. “I think my mommy was.”

“What about Ji Hyun?” Luhan asked.

“I don’t know where Ji Hyun is.” Tears started welling in Ha Joon’s eyes again, but he tried his best to cover up his tears to look brave in front of his hyung.

“Ha Joon, do you want me to call Ji Hyun?” Ha Joon didn’t do anything but nod, so Luhan wouldn’t be able to tell he was crying, but Luhan could obviously tell by the tiny sniffles Luhan remembered putting Ji Hyun’s number in his phone after Jessica gave it to him a while back, thinking he would ask her out on a date.

Ji Hyun was still being interviewed by Mrs. Xi, when she felt her phone buzzing in her pocket. “Um… Mrs. Xi, can you hold on for a moment?” She knew it was rude to answer her phone during an interview, but she never ignored calls. What if it was an emergency?

“No, it’s alright,” Mrs. Xi replied.

The caller ID was familiar to Ji Hyun, but she didn’t want to ignore it. She pressed the recive button and pressed her phone against her ear. “Hello?”

            “Ji Hyun? It’s Luhan.”

“Luhan?” Ji Hyun said rather loudly. When Mrs. Xi heard Ji Hyun say that name, she couldn’t help but raise her curiosity on why Ji Hyun was talking to her son. “What did you need? I’m kind of busy.”

“Well, Ha Joon is still here, I’m guessing someone was supposed to pick him up but they forgot,” Luhan informed.

“What?” Ji Hyun looked at the time and couldn’t believe that no one picked up Ha Joon. “Okay, I’ll be right there.”

“Okay, I guess I’ll just stay here with him,” Luhan stated.

“Thank you, I’ll be there as fast as I can.” Ji Hyun hung up and almost ran out of the store, but then remembered that she was still being interviewed by Mrs. Xi. Ji Hyun saw Mrs. Xi, just casually sitting there with her legs crossed smiling happily at her. “Um… I’m really sorry, but I have to go.”

“You know my son?” Mrs. Xi asked.

“Uh… Luhan? The piano player right? Than yes, he’s Ha Joon’s piano teacher,” Ji Hyun answered. Figured why the name sounded so familiar, she was Luhan’s mother.

“What did he need?” Mrs. Xi questioned.

“I just need to pick up Ha Joon, apparently no one picked him up. I’m really sorry, but I have to go, so um… If you can you can give this job to whoever else wants it, I’ll completely understand.”

“It’s fine, you can go Ji Hyun and you got the job,” Mrs. Xi said.

“Thank you so much! I won’t let you down.” Ji Hyun quickly hugged Mrs. Xi and quickly ran out of the shop.

Luhan was still sitting next to Ha Joon, who finally stopped crying after Luhan told him that Ji Hyung was coming.

“You don’t have to be here Hyung,” Ha Joon said trying to sound tough.

“I don’t want to leave you here alone, plus, I’d rather be here than where I supposed to be,” Luhan mumbled.

“Hyung, do you think Noona is pretty?”

“Why do you keep asking me that?” Luhan asked slightly annoyed. “Why do you care if I think your sister is pretty?”

            “You never told me.”

“Fine, I think Ji Hyun is… Hot,” Luhan admitted.

“Noona told me it’s not respectful when a boy tells a girl she’s hot,” Ha Joon told Luhan disapproved of Luhan’s answer.

“Well what do you want me to say?” Luhan couldn’t believe that he was getting chastised by a first grader for calling his sister “hot.” Luhan was tired of sitting because of cold the stairs were because of the snow. He was standing up now, looking down at Ha Joon.

“Do you think Noona is pretty?” Ha Joon asked again.

“Okay fine, yes, I think your sister is very pretty, I think she’s beautiful,” Luhan nearly shouted. “I think Ji Hyun is beautiful.”

            “You think I’m beautiful?”

Luhan felt his heart pounding; if he turned around he would see Ji Hyun and have to explain to her why he was telling Ha Joon he thought she was beautiful.

“Hi Noona!” Ha Joon greeted Ji Hyun literally jumping off the steps to hug his older sister.

“Hi Ha Joon,” Ji Hyun hugged him tightly, he felt so cold. “Sorry that whoever was supposed to pick you up forgot about you, I had a job interview at a bridal store for a job-“

“Wait, my mom was supposed to interview you?” Luhan said shocked.

“Yeah, I got the job working there, I didn’t exactly know she was your mom,” Ji Hyun replied.

“Listen Ji Hyun, I was wondering if maybe instead of awkward ice cream conversations or spilling coffee on me, maybe you would want to go out on a date with me… and if you’re wondering why it’s because-“

“Because you think I’m beautiful?” Ji Hyun bit her bottom lip and felt flustered by Luhan’s sudden question.

“Yes, because I think you’re beautiful.”

“Can I think about it and then I’ll tell you? Plus, is your mom okay with you asking one of her new employees out?”

“That’s fine, just call me since you have my number now you can just call me and don’t worry about my mom.”

“Okay then,” Ji Hyun looked at Ha Joon who was smiling at both of them. “I’ll see you later Luhan. Come on Ha Joon.” Ji Hyun made her way to the car, but quickly spun back around. “Luhan? I thought about it and yes I will go out with you.”

A smile immediately came on Luhan’s face and he felt the strange feeling coming back. Right when Ji Hyun and Ha Joon left, he looked at his clock and realized that he only had ten minutes to get ready and meet Reira. Luhan thought about not going to dinner with Reira, but he didn’t want his mom to ask him a bunch of questions and making him go on another date with Reira.

After quickly getting ready, Luhan made his way through the fancy restaurant. He really hoped it wouldn’t end as terrible as he thought. Immediately, he saw Reira waiting patiently already eating through a salad.

“Oppa!” Reira nearly ran over to Luhan wearing a short tight red dress and five inch heels. She hugged him tightly, nearly suffocating him.

Luhan just adjusted his tie and sat down. “Hi Reira.”

Reira fixed her dress and sat back down. “Oppa, I’m so happy that you and I could start talking about the wedding.”

“Talk about the wedding?” Luhan said confused. “I thought we were just going to have dinner.”

“Well, your mom wanted me to tell you that she wanted to make sure we had everything ready for her so she could start placing orders,” Reira informed.

“Reira, do you want to get married?” Luhan asked.

            “Of course I do, I’ve always wanted to get married to a childhood friend,” Reira replied;

“Childhood friend? What are you talking about?” Luhan was confused by everything Reira was telling him.

“Oppa, don’t tell me that you forgot about me,” Reira claimed. “Ugh, the piano can do so much for a person.”

“I don’t remember you,” Luhan admitted coldly.

“That’s fine, you’ll remember eventually oppa or since we are getting married should I just call you Luhan?” Reira asked.

            “It doesn’t matter.”

“Well, you should know Luhan that Reira isn’t my real name.”

“Okay, what’s your real name?” Luhan took a sip of his water, wishing the “date” was already over.

“My real name is Ji Hyun.”

Luhan nearly spit out his water when he heard Reira say that.

“Luhan? What are you doing?” Ji Hyun still had her little angel toy that Luhan got for her in her hand. Luhan was in his room, playing on his piano.

“I’m practicing the song my piano teacher told me to learn.” Luhan kept all his concentration on his piano looking at the sheet of music in front of him.

“Do you like playing the piano?” Ji Hyun asked, she made Luhan move over so she could sit next to him. She pressed one key and giggled at the noise it made.

“I love playing the piano, it’s fun!” Luhan admitted happily.

“Well then, I wish Luhan oppa will become famous and then buy me a castle with all his money. Then he’ll play the piano for only me,” Ji Hyun declared.

“Only you?”

“Yes only me, I want to be your inspiration Oppa.”

“You are my inspiration Ji Hyun, you’re my best friend, but I can’t promise you that your wish will come true. I have to be really good to become famous.”

“You have to become famous, it was my wish and you have to make it come true,” Ji Hyun insisted. “I know you’ll become famous.”

“I’ll be famous because you’ll always be there for me, but when I’m famous you better not forget about me, okay?” Luhan replied. “If you forget about me, then I’ll lose my passion for the piano.”

“More like you better not forget about me when you become famous and I would never forget you oppa.”

A/N: Before I say anything, has anyone seen To The Beautiful You yet? The minute I saw Exo-K singing Mama, I almost screamed like a little girl. I feel messed up because I'm mostly seeing this drama because of Exo, even though they'll only have minor appearances.
Moving on: OMG to Reira, right? Luhan's going to need to rant to someone, so who do you think he's going to tell about looking for his Ji Hyun? What is Luhan going to do about Reira? And will Ji Hyun know about Baekhyun's feelings for her? Plus, Chanyeol is going to appear the next chapter for sure! So you guys will have a taste on Ji Hyun and Chanyeol's rather awkward bro-sis relationship. Also, it's pretty obvious Mrs. Xi has something to say to, but obviously doesn't want to say it at the same time.
