Chapter 54

“No, it’s okay. My appa raised me to be a strong girl. And as I said, you’re like a family now, you deserve to know”

But Jaejoong still felt bad

He kissed your forehead “I will never let you get hurt again. Never”

You were cooking at the kitchen, Jaejoong didn’t want you to cook since there are chefs there, but you insisted

“Hmm… Why is it so quiet here…” you thought to yourself

“Jaejoong!” you called

But there was no response

“Jaejoong-ah~~” you called again but still there was no response

“Jaejoong…?” you turned the stove down and went searching for him

You heard noises from the living room so you went there

You saw Jaejoong on the sitting on the floor, his eyes glued to the huge TV screen

“Jaejoong?” you called

“Sshhh, it’s about to start!”

“You’re not watching are you??” you asked suspiciously “’Cause I swear if you watch here I’ll break the TV apart” you threatened “Hyemi is here! What if she hear-“

“Sshh!!”

“Are you ready kids?!!” the person from the TV shouted

“Ay ay captain!!” Jaejoong shouted back happily

Oh my God… Don’t tell me…

“Spongebob, Jae?!” you asked in disbelief

Jaejoong turned and nodded happily “Come, sit and watch with me” he patted the spot next to him excitedly

“Jae, I swear you act more childish than Hyemi” you shook your head

“Fine, if you don’t want to” he went back to the screen “I’ll just watch Spongebob myself” he pouted

“Jajeoong-ah, help me with the cooking” you said

“But Spongebob has just started!” he whined

“Ya, Kim Jaejoong”

But he didn’t respond

“Hmph, fine. Have fun with your Spongebob, since he’s your new girlfriend now” you went back to the kitchen

You turned the stove on and began cooking again

You couldn’t help but to chuckle when you remember how cute he looked back there

He’s such a kid…

Then, you felt arms wrapping around your waist

“What are you smiling about?” he asked as he nestled his head in your shoulder

“Hmph, why are you here? Why don’t you have fun with your new girlfriend, Spongebob?”

“Baby, you’re mad about that?” he laughed lightly “Nobody can replace you. Not even Spongebob”

You laughed “Babo”

5 years later…

“Jaejoong-ah!! Where’s the scarf you bought me yesterday?!” you shouted while you were searching the whole room for it

“It’s probably on the top shelf!!” Jaejoong shouted back from the bathroom

You opened the shelf and tip toed your feet to reach the top shelf

You searched for the scarf

“Ah, got it!” you pulled the scarf

But then you heard something fell on the floor

“Eh? What’s this?” you bent down and reached for the box

You opened it and your eyes rounded “Woah… so pretty…” you examined the diamond ring inside of it

Sudddenly the bathroom door opened, and Jaejoong came out with a towel on his head. He was only wearing jeans, revealing his abs

You turned yourself to him, still holding the box in front of you

His eyes widened “Crap!” he quickly ran and grabbed the box from you

He quickly closed it “You weren’t supposed to see that…”

“Is that… for me?” you asked

He looked at you “It was supposed to be a surprise” he weakly smiled “It’s not a surprise now…” he mumbled

 “Okay, well, since you already know…” he kneeled on one knee

Your heart started thumping like crazy

He opened the box, revealing the ring in front of you

“Lee Hyeri, will you marry me?” he looked at you deeply

"Hmmm... Let me think..."

"Hyerii..." he whined

"Okay, okay..."

You smiled widely “Yes”

Jaejoong took the ring “Your hand, please?”

You held out your hand and he slid the ring in your ring finger

Then he got up and held your hands “Sorry, this isn’t the most romantic way to propose. I was going to ask you for dinner and propose to you there, but…”

You hugged him “I don’t care. As long as it’s you, I don’t care” you felt tears sliding down your cheeks

Jaejoong hugged you back

“Besides, you look hot proposing to me wearing only jeans” you chuckled

“I know I am”
