Chapter 40 – In His Arms

“Good thing I took acting lessons” Jessica took a last look at you and then smiled

You slowly opened your eyes and you felt your whole body was freezing

Your body was facing the side

You could only see the snow-covered ground in front of you

The sky was turning dark

“What… happened?” you tried to recall what happened

“, Jessica. I can’t believe I fell for her lies”

You tried to get up by pushing your body up with your hands supporting it, but your body was in pain all over “Oh God…”

You winced as you tried to get up again but still failed

 “I didn’t break anything did I?” you began moving your arms and legs slowly

You winced as you were about to cry “It hurts”

You couldn’t move

It was snowing harder and you were helplessly lying on the ground

“Somebody… Save… me…”

You were alone, in the coldness of winter. Jaejoong was searching for you, but he couldn’t find you

“Aish! Where could she be?!” Jaejoong ruffled his hair in frustration

He had looked everywhere, but still no sign of you

It was already close to midnight, but you still haven’t come back

DBSK was in the resort’s lounge

Jaejoong was worried sick “Could she still be out in the snow?”

He was pacing back and forth endlessly, and it was making the guys worry about him too

“Ya, hyung. Calm down” Yoochun said in his deep voice from the sofa

Jaejoong stopped “How can I calm down?!”

“Sit down.. Have a cup of hot cocoa” he said

“How do you expect me to drink hot cocoa when Hyeri’s probably still out there?!”

 “Aish.. Guys, let’s just help look for her” Yoochun said to the guys

“No, no. You guys just stay here. I’m going to look for her again” Jaejoong said as he grabbed his coat again and wore it

“Hyung! It’s a blizzard out there and it’s already late!” Junsu reasoned out

“Hyeri!! Hyeri!!” Jaejoong shouted while walking without direction, hoping you could hear him

Your hands were cold, your whole body was freezing and numb

Your body was covered in snow, since there was a blizzard

You felt like you were about to die any time soon from the temperature, but then you heard a voice, but it was faint, like it was from afar

Your body was getting weaker and weaker, you couldn’t feel anything by then

Then suddenly... somebody was uncovering you from the snow

“Hyeri! Hyeri!”

You could recognize that voice anywhere

You could feel your body being lifted a little, you could feel you were in his arms

“Jae.. joong..?” your voice was lifeless

“Oh God! You’re freezing” he grabbed your hands and held them tight

He blew his hot breath to them to help warm them down

“Are you okay?” Jaejoong asked frantically

“Do.. I look.. okay?” you still could manage to let out a small chuckle

He gave you a weak laugh “Hold on” he lifted you up in his arms

“Hang in there, okay?”

You weakly nodded

Then he carried you back to the resort

This feels so right…

This feels so good…

I don’t want this to end…

Even if I freeze to death with him…

I want to be in his arms…

You took your last look at the night sky

You shut your eyes
