Chapter 39 –

You ran your fingers through your hair as you made your way to the bed and sat on the edge of it

The next day…

It was already morning, and you were sitting by yourself on a bench outside of the resort

You watched as the other students were skiing and having fun

While you were just having a nice hot cocoa

You were avoiding both Jaejoong and Donghae

So to do that, you decided to go to a top of a hill that was a little far from the resort

You sat on the snow-covered ground and enjoyed the view from the top

I wish I could stay here forever… you smiled to yourself

At that moment, you felt like you’ve forgotten everything

But...

“Lee Hyeri” a voice suddenly called from behind

You turned your head

“Jessica?” you raised an eyebrow “What are you doing here?”

“I need to talk to you” she came closer and sat next to you

At first, you were surprised and confused. You looked at her weirdly as she looked at the view with her knees pulled up and her head rested on her knees. But then you shrugged it off

You went back to looking at the view “What about?”

“It’s about Jaejoong”

“Yeah? What about him?”

“He’s been acting weird lately…”

You raised an eyebrow “Define weird”

“Well he’s been avoiding me, and he’s been so cold towards me now”

I guess he’s come to his senses   you laughed secretly in your mind

“And you think I’m the reason behind it?” you asked

“Well if it isn’t you, what else?”

“Jessica, I haven’t been talking to Jaejoong since you told me not to”

She looked at you “Then what’s gotten into him??”

You shrugged “I don’t know…”

After a couple of minutes of silence, Jessica finally spoke up “Hyeri-ya, I think… I want to give up on Jaejoong…”

“W-what? Really?” you asked in disbelief

She nodded slowly “I think he will never love me like how I love him…” she said in a sad tone

You couldn't help but to feel sorry for her “Jess…” you patted her back

She turned to you and gave you a big smile “But, I’m gonna be fine”

You could see tears welling up in her eyes

“Right..? Right??” she started crying

You nodded “Yeah, you’re going to be fine… You'll find someone better for you...” you comforted her

“This is really good news to you, right? If I give up on Jaejoong, I’ll give your sister back and Jaejoong will be yours too” she forced a smile

You smiled and nodded again “Thanks for doing this”

“I realized what I’ve been doing is really bad… So I have to apologize to you”

“It’s okay. I know you did that all because you love Jaejoong so much”

“Thank you, Hyeri. You’re really nice after all…”

You gave her a smile “So are we like… friends now?” you asked

“Yup, friends” she held up her hand

You shook it “Friends”

Then she stood up “So, I guess I better get going”

“Yeah, sure”

“I’ll give you back your sister as soon as we get back to Seoul”

“Okay, thanks”

Then she walked away

“Hey, Jess!” you called

She stopped and turned back “Yeah?”

“Thanks again for doing this”

She smiled and then walked away

You turned back to the view and sighed a relieved sigh

You felt like your burdens have all been taken away

You smiled at the view

You still couldn’t believe Jessica would do that, but you were happy she did

Maybe she’s not that bad after all…

This was the start of your great life..

Not

“Sorry, I lied” you felt somebody was behind your back

Jessica pushed you with all her might

Your eyes widened as your body flew and landed on the snow and started rolling down the hill

Jessica watched your body rolled down the hill

She smirked “This will get rid of you once and for all”

Then after a while, your body finally stopped on the bottom of the hill

 But you were already unconscious

“Good thing I took acting lessons” Jessica took a last look at you and then smiled

“Goodbye, Lee. Hye. Ri”
