Chapter 15: Three bears song
A book of debt
Dongwoon stopped his car and get off, we were at the Han River. It was bright day light; the river shinned under the sun. I followed him out of the car.
He sat down at the river bank, looking up the blue sky. Even though stars couldn’t be seen in the day, his eyes never left the sky. I opened my backpack, taking out packed kimbap. I took a seat beside him.
“You need to eat,” I gave him the lunch box. He shook his head weakly. I put it down. Seriously, this atmosphere was making everyone so depressing. I had to do something!
kom sema-ri-ga han chi-be-yi-so (There are three bears in a house,)
appa gom (Father bear,)
omma gom (Mother bear,)
ae-gi gom (Baby bear)
appa gommun tung-tung-hae (Daddy bear is fatty,)
omma gommun nal-shin-hae (Mommy bear is slim,)
ae-gi gommun na bul-gwi-yo-wo (Baby bear is too cute! )
hishuk hishuk cha-rhan-da (Shrug! Shrug! You are doing well!)
I started to dance to Three Bears Song. Dongwoon looked at me, bewildered. Then, he started bursting out laughing. It worked! Maybe not…
Within that laughter, tears started to flow out. Dongwoon began pouring tears out.
“It’s alright. Just cry it out,” I his hair softly. Tears just covered his eyes, his face in misery. Dongwoon leaned against me, crying. He must have been bearing it for so long. No one could tell him to cry, no one could tell him to let go.
We stayed like this for awhile, as those silent tears flowed and till those warm tears held their places.Dongwoon wiped away his last tears, and gaze up at me with his swollen. I smiled back, passing him tissue and water.
“Give me your car keys,” I stretched out my hands. He frowned at me.
“Just give me,” I instructed. Dongwoon reached for his pocket, fishing out his keys.
“Let’s go,” I picked up my bag pack.
“Are you sure you know how to drive?” Dongwoon looked at me, who was sitting in the passenger seat.
“Trust me, have some confidence,” I adjusted the rear view mirror. Then, off we go!
“So, what do you think?” I asked, proud of myself as I parked the car.
“Not bad,” Dongwoon acknowledged. “But, where are we?”
“Just follow my lead,” I grinned at him.
“Ta-da!” We stood at the entrance of the place. He raised an eye brow.
“Let me introduce, Lotte World!”
