“I don’t understand you, how could you do that to a small seven year old boy?”
She slammed the book on the kitchen counter making Jinyoung jolt in shock.

“What are you talking about?” he was confused.

“This, I’m talking about this Mr. Mean Park. This book is so heavy I can’t read it” she flipped her lower lip making a sad face.

A smile appeared on his face when he realized she was talking about the book.

“So did you like it?” he asked drying his hands from a kitchen towel.

“I’m only half way done, it is getting heavier. I feel sad nyongie” she shook her head.

He giggled at her response. He didn’t feel upset about her not remembering the previous night anymore.

“I can’t believe how could you possibly create such a dark story for a seven years old boy" she said again. She had been waiting the whole evening to confront him about the novel.

“I wanted to continue but I was scared of where it might take me, you know what I mean?” she placed her face between her hands.

“I know, you know you should try reading The boy in the striped pajamas, You won’t think so bad about my novel then” he suggested one of his favorites for her to read.

“Gosh, another sad story about a minor" she shook her head as a way to protest.

“Do you think these kind of things aren’t happening in real world?” he asked placing a cup of warm milk in front of her. He thought of giving her wine but she looked like she would enjoy a warm milk than a wine just tonight.

She drank a sip from the milk, “I feel bad because it does happen” she whispered slowly.

“I feel bad because there is nothing I could do to stop it” she turned her face down.

“Hey, don’t be sad” he took her hands and gave a gentle squeeze.

“Think of it as just a story" he said again. She nodded and smiled.

A smile that formed her lips into a curve but her eyes remained looking heavy.

“I’m gonna take a wash and read some more and though I haven’t read much I think you have done a good job Jinyoung” she took the book and walked to her room.

She filled the bathtub with warm water and lit a scented candle on the side. She remembered she hasn’t done this in a while. She removed her robe and got into the tub submerging her whole body in the water.

“Bam-ah, Bam-ah, open this door right now" she pondered on the bathroom door. The boy had locked himself in it and refused to come out. “Kunpimook Bhuwakul Bambam, come out in this instant" she raised her voice. “No, I’m not going there. They will send me back" a tiny high pitched voice came through the door. “How many times do I have to tell you I won’t let you go" she was growing impatient. They were supposed to be at the child welfare authority by now. “You don’t know that" he screamed back. “Is that how much you trust me Bambam? If that’s how you think you shouldn’t be with me at all” her anger made her spit those words before she thinks. They both stayed silent for a while and the lock made a tiny noise turning it from inside. He slowly stepped outside. His face was red with crying and there were traces of tears on his cheeks. She wiped his face gently without saying anything. “Bambam I want you to trust me. I won’t let anything happen to you, I promise baby" she hugged him. He had been living with her for three months when she finally decided she would inform about him to child welfare authority and would try to become his legal guardian. She knew there was a risk of turning him in when he didn’t have a valid passport or visa to stay in the country. That’s why she swallowed her pride and asked a favor from her father who had friends in influential places. They have arranged for Bambam to get a student visa temporarily. ‘It was better than nothing' she thought. They walked into the meeting room together. “Ms. Wang I want you to stay here till I speak to the boy" a man in mid fourties pointed her to a chair and took Bambam inside the small office room. “Don’t worry baby, everything will be fine" she reassured the worried looking boy who kept looking over his shoulder. But she was feeling nervous and her patience ran thin with the time. She started pacing up and down in the lobby to occupy herself. She was worried whether she would be able to keep the promise she gave him. After what felt like a century the boy walked out but he was hard to read. “So, what happened?” she asked. “I don’t know. They asked me bunch of questions about how we met and what you make me do at home" he shrugged. “Ms. Wang can I talk to you for a moment?” the man appeared behind the door. “Get a drink from the machine and wait for me here" she handed over a bill to him before walking inside. “Ms. Wang, why do you want to be his legal guardian?” he checked the file and asked. “Because he doesn’t have one in here" she replied. “How old are you Ms. Wang?” he narrowed his eyes. “Me? Twenty four, going to be twenty five soon" she was flustered with the question. “So the between you two are like ten years,” he said in a questioning manner. “Yeah,” “Are you married or do you have a boyfriend?” he asked again with a smirk. She rolled her eyes at his question. “How is it relevant to this?” “Well, you are very attractive. Young and hot blooded woman with needs. So I’m thinking whether someone is taking care of those needs,” he bit his lips as he said and laughed. Her breathing got heavy as she tried to calm herself down and she pursed her lips tightly. “It’s not something you should be concerned with,” she said firmly. “Do you know it is illegal to have a ual relationship with a minor?” he looked straight at her. She had to remind herself that it is illegal to kill someone even though they are pure s. “Are you suggesting that I have an improper relationship with Bambam??” surprisingly her voice sounded calm. She felt maybe that’s how psychopaths felt like, calm from outside but stabbing someone repeatedly until their guts are spilled. “Not really, I’m just saying others would look at it that way. But I can change that with my report.” His his lips as he continued, “What would you give me if I do that?” She was beyond angry and she did something she had never done before. She got up from where she was seated and moved close to him. She sat next to his chair and slowly ran her hand up on his thigh. She leaned closer as and whispered in his ear, “I had my recording on in my phone Mr. Jang, no, I won’t complain it to your superior but I will send that clip to your wife alone with this picture,” before he could understand what was going on, she took a selfie where her face was buried in his neck. She pulled back with a smug look on her face and he was pale like, he had seen a ghost. “Yeah, I did my research about you before coming here. You live with your wife’s money and you wouldn’t want her to know that you are cheating on her now, would you?” she smirked as she pushed the paper towards him and handing over the pen to him. “You sign this and we forget about this ever happened,” she batted her lashes seductively. He gulped and cleared his throat before signing the
