Stella was playing a videogame with Byul-yi in the entertaining room when she suddenly asked:

__ Mommystar.... Do girls marry other girls?

The light-brown-haired woman pressed pause and glanced at the small child.

__ Yes, some of them do. But depends on the law of the country.

Stella continued asking:

__ Is it allowed in the US?

__ Yep.

The child seemed curious:

__ What about Korean?

The businesswoman showed a faint smile:

__ Unfortunately, no.

__ Is this why you said to Aunt Wheein that you don’t want to live there?

The woman thought for a little while before she explained:

__ Not exactly. You see, bunny... not everybody wants to get married. However, it’s very hard for people like me to live in a place where I may be treated as a freak, or have no right to kiss someone I love in public.

The little girl sat on the adult’s lap, crossed her arms around her neck, and brushed her nose on the light brown-haired woman.

__ That ! Why are people so mean to gays?

Byul-yi kissed the girl’s cheek and smiled:

__ It’s complicated. People tend to hate what they don’t understand and what differs from their little world. But babe, please don’t use the sword. It doesn’t suit a beautiful and cute girl your age.

Stella sat back on the floor:

__ Okay, mommystar. I won’t. Can I ask you a big, big, big favor?

__ Sure.

The child stared at the woman with begging eyes:

__ If it’s not a big trouble... would you make Yakisoba with veggies for dinner?

Byul-yi cracked up and caressed the girl’s hair:

__ Gosh, you’re like your mom when you want something. But yeah, I’ll do it.

__ Yay! You’re the best mommy ever, just like mom. I’m so lucky I’ve got you two.

The woman squeezed the girl’s cheeks, and they restarted the game:

__ We are the lucky ones, bunny.

Later, Yongsun arrived and went straight to her bathroom to take a relaxing bath while her best friend started cooking.

The girl followed her mother and entered the tub with her and Yongsun smiled while welcoming her daughter to her chest.

__ Mom...

__ Yeah, baby?

Stella went straight to the point:

__ Will you get married again? 

The brunette opened her eyes in surprise:

__ I don’t know, sweetie. I am not even dating. Marriage should be taken seriously. I wouldn’t marry someone unless there was deep love involved.

Stella turned her head and smiled while speaking:

__ Why don’t you marry Auntie Byul-yi? 

__ What? Where did you take this idea from?__ Yongsun laughed.

The seven-year-old girl raised
