Chelsea POV

"Next time you should bring your boyfriend over," my mother said as I arranged the table for lunch.

"Boyfriend?"

"Yeah, you know, that boy who we met at your house that day... his name was-"

"Jimin," I cut her off, drooping my shoulders slightly.

"Yeah, Jimin!"

"He's not my boyfriend, mom," I told her quietly, "Well not anymore at least."

"Not anymore? What do you mean?"

"He broke up with me, after he found out..."

"Found out...?"

"That I-"

"Is it that stupid attempted murder thing? Please tell me it's not."

"It is."

"Give me this boy's number I need to tell him that it wasn't yo-"

"Mom, I've tried," I told her, trying to hold in my tears, "I told him a million times that it wasn't me."

"Well then if you told him and he still didn't believe you, that means he's not the one anyway, it's okay baby."

I sighed, feeling like there was a little bit of the story that I didn't know, but shrugged it off. Today was meant to be spent focusing on my family, not Jimin.

Narrator POV

Jimin entered the bedroom, grateful that his friend was here when he needed him.

"Jungkook thinks it's because of some business deal," Jimin sighed, flopping onto the bed while Taehyung only inched closer.

"You didn't even tell Jungkook?"

"Well he and I aren't really the friends we used to be anymore," he replied curtly, looking to the ceiling.

"Yeah but-"

"Tae, are you on my side, or on Jungkook's?" Jimin sat up and glared at him.

"Of course I'm on your side, but I guess it's just weird, the fact that we no long tell him everything anymore."

"Tae, it's been like this for five years, this isn't any different."

"Yeah, but for the past five years I didn't even know where you guys even were, now that I do know, I guess, it's hard to get used to the fact that we aren't the group we used to be."

"It doesn't matter right now," Hoseok's voice approached and the two of them looked in his direction to see him toss them a soda can each.

"Soda? Why soda!" Taehyung whined, "Can't we have something stronger?"

Hoseok knew what he was implying and shook his head, "No, because you, have a plane to fly tomorrow, I have a company to run and Jimin, well he does too but right now nothing matters more than his health."

"So when are you going to tell us the real reason you broke up with Chelsea?"

Jimin moved to the side, leaning his back against the wall and sighing, "Well I went to the police station the day that Chelsea's attempted murder was in the papers."

He then went on to tell them the story of his time there.

Jimin walked in, disliking the chaotic state the precinct was in as soon as he entered. People were running around holding large stacks of papers, yelling through phones and walking prisoners around in chains.

It definitely wasn't his type of place.

"Hello, how may I help you?" the receptionist asked him.

"I made an appointment with Detective Lee from the homicide department, could you point me in the right direction...?"

"Oh, yeah, sure," she walked out of behind her desk and walked with Jimin to the sector upstairs where the detective was waiting for him.

"Hello!" he greeted him warmly, and Jimin squinted at him, finding his face familiar.

"A-Are you Detective Lee?" he asked, his demeanour faltering a little.

"Yah, Jimin," he slapped Jimin's arm, "Don't you remember me?"

"Huh?"

The detective put the books he was holding on a nearby table and started to do some dance moves, including the wave and the moonwalk.

Jimin's eyes widened as he recognised the way his body moved. "Sunbae! Taemin sunbae!"

"Yes, it's me, punk," Taemin chuckled and pulled Jimin in for a hug, patting his back, "How have you been all these years?" he asked as they parted and started walking to a table.

"Alright," Jimin lied, "I can't believe I meet you here of all places, I didn't think you'd become a detective!"

"Well, of course I wanted to pursue my dream of performing, but you need to be realistic in this world, you know?"

"I do," Jimin nodded, "Well I definitely thought of you as the-"

"I'M GOING TO GET REVENGE!" a loud voice bellowed, interrupting Jimin.

"Chaotic workplace type," he finished.

"Well, yeah, that's just my charm," he sat back in his chair and puffed out his jacket. "So what was it that you wanted to talk about today, again?"

"An attempted murder case, from seven years ago," Jimin said, "Is that possible?"

"Name?"

"Of victim or the accused? I only know the name of the accused."

"That works too."

"Chelsea Park."

Taemin typed it into the database and only one case came up.

"Okay, found it," he leaned into Jimin's ear to whisper the next part, "Don't tell anyone I'm doing this, okay? I'm only doing this because you're a friend, but I'm not actually allowed to."

"Thank you so much sunba-"

"Hyung."

"Huh?"

"We're no longer at school, I'm no longer your sunbae, call me hyung. Besides, you're the CEO of the biggest company in South Korea! I can't be your sunbae."

Jimin chuckled, "Okay, hyung, thank you so much."

"Okay, back to business. What is it about this case that you want to know?"

"Is there a chance that Miss Park," Jimin tried to distance himself from her – it may be disadvantageous if it seemed like he knew her personally, "wasn't actually the one who tried to kill her?"

"Well here it states that she was the only other person in the residence when it happens, here when that happens, Jimin, it is a dead giveaway, there's no chan-"

Taemin stopped talking, looking like he suddenly remembered something.

"Wait, is this the girl who was let out of prison five years later?"

"Huh? Uhm, yeah, I think so," he nodded, "Why?"

"I think I remember this case," he looked down at the table, trying hard to recall his past, "I think I was one of the guards working at the court for her at that time. I remember her because I thought she looked much too innocent to be a killer, especially one who kills their own parents, that takes some cold blood, you know."

"Wait, so you don't think she tried to kill them?" Jimin was asking the stupidest question, he knew himself that she didn't attempt murder on her own parents. He remembered the day they had come over and he had met them, they were the loveliest people, and Chelsea looked like she loved them more than anyone on this planet.

"Definitely not," he shook his head.

"Is there anything else you remember about that day?"

The media had already painted her a killer, and he wanted to rip that paint off and find out who the real criminal was.

A strip Chelsea of that title.

"Hold on, it might be in my diary," Taemin said, sincerity all over his face but Jimin couldn't help but laugh.

"Diary?"

"Back when I was training to be a detective, I thought it might have been a good idea to keep track of everything, just in case I missed something and needed to check up on it. Don't tease your hyung, it might come useful, okay?"

"Okay," Jimin replied, trying to supress a smile, "So where's your beloved diary?"

"Probably in my locker, wait here."

He nodded and Taemin walked away, leaving Jimin to idly play with his fingers, remembering all the times they would spend in the practice room until the sunrise. They were good memories. Happy memories. And he was happy he found him again.

He couldn't help but wonder, however, that something bad was about to happen to him. He was finally meeting so many of his friends, bringing back so much happiness, that it just didn't seem real.

It all seemed too good to be true.

"Okay, I'm back, and you are in luck."

"What?"

"I did document a bit of stuff from that day, the day she was let off in court."

"W-What is it?" he asked, becoming a little afraid.

"Before I tell you, can I ask what your relationship is with Miss Park?"

"She's... my... uhm... employee."

"Nothing more?"

"Why?"

"If you two had a closer relationship, this isn't something you'd want to know."

"Yeah, nothing more."

"Okay, well apparently before the trial, I overheard a phone call that the judge was having," he said, reading off the book in his hands.

"And?"

"Since I was in the same room, I heard everything, including what the person on the other end was saying.

"I've written here that it was a conversation between the judge and someone called Park Ji Wook."

Jimin tried not to gasp at the name.

"I think it was something to do with her 'murder' case. This Park Ji Wook guy seemed like he was the one who tried to kill the girl's parents."

"What?" Jimin's eyes popped out of his head, "What do you mean?"

"Well, the man was asking the judge to let the girl off now, that she was blamed for it and he didn't want to cause her any more pain because he was already hurting his son or something and blah blah. Bottom line was that he thought that she was blamed for the attempted murder, therefore no further investigation was needed, and so he wouldn't get caught. But somewhere in that coldblooded-"

Jimin winced when Taemin used the word coldblooded for some reason.

"-Creature he felt guilty for the girl, and thought that she should be let out of prison. Man our country is so corrupt."

That was when everything went inaudible for Jimin, he heard nothing.

Because what he had just been told was basically a sword to his chest.

"What?" Hoseok leaned forward, "Park Ji Wook?!"

"Isn't that..."

"Your father?!"

"Your damn father tried to kill sister-in-law's parents?"

"Sister-in-law, my foot," Jimin snorted and Hoseok just whacked the younger's head.

"Ow..." Taehyung rubbed at it.

"Your father? Really?"

"Y-Yeah, my damn father!"

"Jimin..." Hoseok said softly, feeling a great amount of grief for his friend.

"He's ing dead, the man's DEAD," Jimin wailed, "Why does he just have to come and haunt me now? He did enough when he was alive, he just has to ruin my life when he's dead too?"

Taehyung and Hoseok exchanged
