EP : 10
At The Point Of No ReturnNarrator POV
“Secretary Yoo!” Ara ran down the hall in her heels, “Did Wonho sign the files?”
Kihyun who was standing a good distance away from Wonho’s office winced when she addressed the CEO by his name. Sure, outside Kihyun also called Wonho: Wonho, but during work he was still the almighty CEO.
“Um…”
Ara saw the folder she was looking for in the male’s hands so she just grabbed it without waiting for his answer.
“Why isn’t it signed?” Ara huffed in frustration, “I gave it to you three hours ago and it’s still not signed? Do you even know how to do your job? Mr. Huang needs this signed!”
She was the intern but Kihyun felt like he was being scowled by his superior. Just yesterday she was complaining and looked like she hated this place so he couldn’t understand why she was suddenly concerned about whether or not the papers were signed on time.
“CEO-nim…” Kihyun felt like he was shrinking under her blazing glare, “is busy…”
“For three hours? In the morning? Really?” Ara scoffed. If she wanted these paper signed it looked like she was going to have to hand them in herself.
“Wait!” Kihyun tried to stop her but she was already striding down the hall in her white pumps.
When she turned the corner to Wonho’s office, another employee dashed out and bumped right into her spilling an entire mug of hot coffee on her favourite lavender shirt (yeah she totally gave up on the dress code here).
Ara hissed loudly as the hot liquid seethed through her shirt and onto her skin. She sent the other female the harshest glare she could muster.
“Sorry!” she squeaked trying to dab some of it off but Ara just flinched.
“Don’t touch me,” Ara was completely heartbroken, that nasty coffee stain isn’t ever going to come out. She stared the girl up and down and frankly the girl looked like she had come out of a car wreck. Her hair was messy; her attired was completely crumpled and shifted.
“Just,” Ara sighed, “Leave.”
“I’m sorry,” she mumbled again before running away.
After she was gone, Ara inspected the files, “Thank god she didn’t get it on here.”
Adjusting her breathing, she walked on confidently like she didn’t just have a third degree burn.
She pulled out her phone and texted Shownu to bring her a new shirt before opening the door.
“Yah! Shin Wonho I need you to –…” her files slipped onto the floor as she screamed and spun around.
Wonho looked up from buckling his belt.
“You need me to what? Show you more of my amazing abs?”
Ara couldn’t see him but she knew he was wearing his signature smirk. It suddenly made sense why the other girl looked like a train wreck. After all, she did just come out of Wonho’s room.
“Put on a shirt,” was all Ara said.
Chortling at how stiff she sounded, Wonho searched for his sweater.
“How may I humour you?” he asked ambiguously.
Using one hand to shield her eyes, she felt around the floor for the folders.
“Sign,” she shoved it into his arms without looking.
“Sheesh,” Wonho mused, “You can open your eyes now.”
Peaking through her fingers, she didn’t remove her hand until she was 100% sure.
“You’re cute,” Wonho flipped through the papers, “Too bad you’re so inexperienced.”
Ara crossed her arms and blew her bangs, “And how does that concern you?”
Wonho looked up from the files with a smirk but it fell to the floor when he saw the stain.
“What happened to your shirt?”
“Maybe you should go and ask your little acquaintance,” Ara saw the glittery residue on Wonho’s lips and wanted to puke.
“Oh so it is my fault. Perfect,” Wonho grabbed his keys off his desk, “Let’s go get you a new shirt!”
“What? Whoa,” Ara grabbed his sleeve and spun him back to his desk like a tetherball. She pulled out a pen and pointed at the papers, “Sign, it’s already three hours late.”
Wonho rolled his eyes and quickly scribbled his signature, “Done. Now let’s go,” he took her hand and started dragging her away while giving her just enough time to snatch the file on the way out.
“Here!” Ara tossed the entire package at Kihyun when they passed him. “Give it to Mr. Huang!” she called over her shoulder.
“Huh?” Kihyun was bewildered, “Wait! Where are you going? Yah! Wonho!” sometimes, he’d forget to use honorific when his boss was being stupid.
Right before disappearing around the corner, Wonho finally slowed down and sent Kihyun a wink, “Thanks buddy!”
Kihyun groaned and face palme
