And he said I was such a baby. Look at him!

I hadn't been needed to drive at all for quite a while. Well, almost a week and a half now and I was getting so used to my carefree life with a very responsible driver who would once in a while oversleep in the morning or throw tantrums at me when I try to wake him up. Pfft. I woke up today as usual, at 5.45 am in the morning and washed myself up. I woke Baekhyun up at 6 am.

"Go away..." he said, sounding a little harsh but soft as well at the meanwhile. Being used to his morning tantrums, I simply put on a smile and tucked on the blanket, pulling it off him, blowing air into his ear and tickling his neck. He was a little annoyed but he jumped a little when he was tickled and that was then, I could feel his tensed up torso as he stopped all movements. His breaths deepened and became soft panting moans. Something is wrong. I quickly patted him on the back, "baby, you alright? Hey..." I asked.

"It... hurts," he said in between the pants, "med...cabinet." I quickly opened the side table's cabinet and found the bottle of advil before I poured a tablet on my hand and slipped it into his mouth. He struggled to even swallow it down his throat.

I sent a text to my supervisor for an urgent half day leave and sat back down on the bed. This was the first time.

The first time I saw him in pain ever since he came. The Advil was in the cabinet. Such an easily accessible spot. Did he use it very frequently? But it must have been quite effective judging at how quickly his rapid breaths toned down and returned to normal. He moved his shoulder a little and his eyes opened. He gave me a weak half smile and muttered a sorry that was barely even heard. I shook my head and repeated after him, "sorry." If I didn't disturb him that much, this wouldn't happen. I thought. With much help, he lay flat on the bed and slept again when the drowsiness kicked in. I thoughtlessly stared at his bare face that was very fair and pale for what seemed like a minute and I finally noticed the frown between his brows. I smoothed it and caressed his face.

"What are you not telling me?" I whispered and sighed. I quietly crept out of the room while he rested and I saw my mom who was getting Jesper ready for school. "Ma, I'll fetch Jesper to school today." I suggested. "? Don't you have work today?" She asked, looking ridiculed. "Baekhyun's a little unwell. I took a half day leave." I briefly explained and she bought it. She didn't know about the accident. She nodded and told me to take care of him well before she went back into the kitchen.

I watched Jesper finished his breakfast, bringing the bowl and cup into the kitchen, leaving them on the sink as told by my mother. He routinely came out of the kitchen and put on his white socks and school shoes while carrying his little school bag. "Lets go, mommy." He said, tugging my hand.

I simply answered and walked after him, locking the door behind us. Jesper was a little too quiet today, too. "Jia jia, are you angry?" He asked in a very squishy voice as we were on the road. "Huh?" I wasn't paying attention. "are you angry?" He asked again, slowly. I laughed a little, no wonder he was so quiet. "No. Why should I be angry?" Little Jesper thought for a while before he shrugged. "I don't know. But you look scary." He concluded. I guess I was looking a little stressed up from what happened in the morning. Everything just started off wrongly today. I sighed. "Mummy isn't angry. Just worried about your daddy. Remember daddy was sick in the hospital last time?" I replied. Jesper nodded his head and looked at me with his bubbly eyes again. "Is daddy okay? Is he going to the hospital again?"

I gave him a few comforting nods and I shook my head, remembering his second question while I answered him, "yeah. Daddy's fine. He just needs some rest. He'll be at home." I ruffled his hair and gave him a reassuring smile, "now if you'd be a very good boy, daddy will recover even faster!" I prompted as we pulled off in front of his kindergarten. "I will!! Bye bye, mommy!" He greeted cheerfully and climbed up to give me a peck. "Good luck in school, darling! Enjoy!" I wished him as he left the car screaming "I will" and "bye". I watched as he went beyond the entrance and turned into some cornerings before I drove off. 

I died off the engine after I parked my car in the porch and I sat still inside. I fished my phone out of my bag and texted, uhm, a friend. 

[ Channie ] I sent. 

He replied almost instantly. Guess he wasn't on any schedule or he was prepping like, hair styling or doing some make-up. 

[ Yeolda: ????? ] 

[ Do you know Baek came? ]
