She lightly touched her stomach, feeling nauseas again. She quickly stood up from her couch and headed to the bathroom.

It had been five weeks since she last saw him, and it had been five weeks she was carrying their baby.

She closed her eyes tightly after she threw up, feeling her bump on her stomach again. She sighed desperately as she opened her eyelids. She was afraid to tell him there was a baby, she was afraid he would be mad, she was afraid Im Changkyun would leave her forever.

It was their 5^th meeting, the 5^th time her heart beat went fast. His mysterious personality made her wonder more about him. She was drawn into him, like he was trapping her in his world. She looked at him carefully as he was conversing with his friend. His small laughter made her look at him a little too long, it was like music to her ears.

She yelped when she felt a tap on her shoulder, making everyone look at her except for him, the one and only guy she had eyes on.

She turned to the side to the friend that tapped her, her cheeks grew red. “What?” She whispered, hoping her friend didn’t notice her staring at the guy in front of her.

“Aren’t you going to eat?”

Her friend looked down at her untouched food on her plate. She quickly grabbed her spoon and scooped some rice. “I am”

“Right” Her friend raised her eyebrow, but decided to ignore her weird action. “Look” Her friend said, pointing slightly to a female in a beautiful wedding dress that was sitting in front of their table. “I can’t believe our friend is married” She nodded to her friend but her vision went back to Changkyun.

“I wonder when our turn is” Her friend said, the words went into her ears as she look at him longer. “I wonder too” She mumbled quietly, her eyes diverted away from him.

When he asked her to dance, she grew nervous.

“You were the only one left” He said, bringing her back to heartbreak land. She struggled to say no, especially when his hand was inviting her.

“Sure” She replied quietly, taking his hand for the first time. His hand was big and warm, that fits hers so well. She wanted to interlace their fingers, to feel his hand more but they had no relation, no connection, nothing at all.

“Do you know how to dance?” His deep voice woke her up from her fantasy, as she tried to progress what he just said.

“Not really” She looked down at her heels, realized that they were a little too close. His hands wrapped around her waist suddenly and brought them much more closely. His head was on top of hers and his feet began to move.

“I’ll lead you” He spoke, grabbing her hand to put on his shoulder. Her other hand instinctively went to his other shoulder, then wrapping around his neck.

“You’re really that bad, huh?” His small chuckle echoed into her ears, making her weaker. She didn’t know he was like this, his voice hinted he was teasing and she was starting to like him even more.

“I – I don’t get to dance like this often” She reasoned out as she hid her face from his stares. He chuckled once more, wrapping tighter around her waist. “I guess I have to teach you how to dance like this often” He suggested, his eyes looked at her warmly.

“There’s no need” She said immediately, her eyes finally fixed onto his again. “Well, you never know you need this for your wedding” He explained, his eyes never left hers, it was as if he was telling her something.

“Maybe”

“Maybe” He repeated her, making her form a smile on her face.

They weren’t drunk when Changkyun decided to talk to her more. They weren’t drunk when he decided to head out from the ballroom together. They weren’t drunk when he decided to get a hotel room. And they weren’t drunk when they decided to make love.

But when she woke up the next day, he was gone. He left her in the room, alone, with no message or anything. She sat up, feeling tears going down her cheeks as she desperately looking for air to breathe. She was just a one night stand, she thought. Yet she still loves him.

She left her bathroom and went back to her living room, only to see nothing to greet her. She sighed, picking up her phone to call her parents. It was a hectic day when she told them about the baby, the loud screams from her mother, the dead silent treatment from her father. It was a week after the news when her parents realized the baby was still a human being that needed love, bringing their daughter in tears as she asked for forgiveness and help.

“Do you need help at the store, mother?” She asked, hearing a small greet by her father on the phone. “You need to rest, honey” Her mother replied, her voice showed concern.

“But I have nothing to do” She said instantly, sighing on the phone.

“Why don’t you meet him?”

She held her breath for the nth time whenever her mother mentioned about him. It broke her heart that she had always wanted to see him again but she couldn’t. Especially when she was carrying their baby.

She knew he would be mad, the thought of his face getting frustrated and anger flashed in her mind every day.

When she found out that Changkyun was going to leave the country to persuade his dream as a rapper, she couldn’t help but to think they were too much of a difference. She was going to be a nurse, the dream of taking care of people while he dreamed of inspiring people.

She also knew that he couldn’t let go of his dream because of their baby, or even having a nurse as a wife. They were just… different.

“Honey, are you there?”

She finally got out from her thoughts before replying her mother. “He needs to know about the baby” Her mother continued, sighing softly.

“I’ll think about it” She said, giving her mother a goodbye before hanging up. She lightly closed her eyelid, thinking of the dance with Changkyun again.

The staring contest went a little too long for her and it made her feel suffocated. He suddenly smiled and tore his eyes away from her.

“So Changkyun, you really are going to fly tomorrow?”

She began to feel relief when her friend decided to divert Changkyun’s attention and she was also relief she was wearing a dress to hide her stomach.

“Yeah, I got nothing to do here anyway” He explained, oblivious of her sad expression.

She didn’t know her friend would drag her out to Changkyun’s farewell party the next day, which her friend knew she was pregnant. It was definitely a plan.

“It’s best to tell him” Her friend whispered quietly beside her, eyeing Changkyun that was talking to his friends. She started to panicked as she felt like vomiting again. Her hand went to her stomach as she stood up, dramatically going to the toilet of the restaurant.

Changkyun’s eyes followed her as she exited the room, his head tilted in suspicion.

“What’s wrong with her?” He asked her friend, raising his eyebrows.

She never knew she would be pregnant this early, she never knew she would fall for a guy that easily, and she never knew she was about to be left with a baby that didn’t have a father. Tears started to rolled down her cheek as she tried to regain her composure.  She was a mature woman, she had to be a mature woman.

She flushed the toilet, feeling drained once again as she went out. But she felt more drained when she saw the man that she was trying to avoid standing right in front of her.

“Why are you crying?” His firm voice asked, too serious for her liking. She didn’t reply him back, still avoiding his gaze.

“I said why are you crying?” He spoke, he moved closer to her. His loud steps made her heart beat faster, this was too sudden.

“I – I got something in my eyes, that’s all” She lied, trying to move her body to pass him. But his fast reflex made her plan failed miserably. His hand held her arm softly, and warmly. The touch that made her weak.

“Are you –” His voice began smaller, as if he knew something and it scared her. His other hand touched her stomach, making her flinched.

“You are pregnant” He said, his eyes never left hers. She couldn’t help but to cry, her hands were trying to get his away from her stomach.

“I’m sorry, Changkyun” She cried, as she moved further from him. “I didn’t want you to be mad” She cried more, wiping her tears from her cheeks.

The silence was eating her alive, only Changkyun’s breathing and her sobbing were heard. It was when he suddenly hugged her that made her cry even more.

His arms wrapped around her waist tightly and securely. He made sure he didn’t hug her that strongly for the baby.

He was already worried for the baby… his baby.

He looked at her again, the tears had messed up her make up but he didn’t care. She was still beautiful in his eyes.

“Why did you think I would be mad?” He muttered to her, loud enough for her to hear. She stayed quiet, feeling safe by him.

“I would never get mad about this” He continued after receiving nothing from her. His hand wiped her tears slowly, making her looked up at him.

“We’re different, Changkyun” She whispered, her eyes showed sadness and emptiness.

“We are” He answered back, still looking at her. “But that doesn’t mean we can’t be together” He smiled softly, her hair gently. “The baby is made by our love, well partly because the didn’t –”

“Changkyun”

He halted and stared at the girl that was embarrassed, before he let out a chuckle. “If this baby is destined to be in this world, it needs a father”

was slightly open, her eyes widened as she heard what he just said. “Changkyun, you have a career to build–”

“And I have a family to take care of” Changkyun said, his words made her held her breath. “Family?” He nodded at her, smiling.

“Honestly, I had a plan to get together with you when I came back but I guess the baby is impatient, huh?” He winked, making her blushed madly.

“My career can wait” He reassured her, letting her go from the hug but held her hand. “I want to go through the process with you, I don’t want you to suffer alone, okay?”

Every single word he had said made her tear up, finally letting go all her emotions. “T-Thank you” She managed to speak, as she heard Changkyun’s cute laughter.

“Stop crying, people might think I said something bad to you” He said, wiping her tears again.

“I can’t, okay”

His laughter died down, as he put his arm around her shoulder. “I think this is your pregnant side talking” He tried to make a joke, gaining a small chuckle from her.

 “You still have time to back down, you know” She said.

“I will never” He replied, his lips formed a wide smile as he looked at her, lovingly.
