Kissing 101

At first, I thought Jungkook was kidding. I played along, ha ha, and splashed him for his cutesy attempt to embarrass me. But he still held that same expression, a you-think-I'm-joking-but-I'm-not kind of expression. I was stumped and my thought process grew cloudy.

"You are seriously going to teach me how to KISS?"

"Sure, why not. Think of it as putting theory into practice. People become great kissers with experience, but what if someone with experience actually showed you the do's and don'ts, wouldn't that make life a whole lot easier?" he grinned. I didn't know whether to believe he was being sincere or sneaky.

"I must tell you, though, I like someone else. And while I could really benefit from this rather unusual arrangement, I just want to impress him when the time comes," I justified.

"Sounds like a done deal. I get to teach you the art of kissing and give you some useful insight to winning your boy over. That sound about right?"

"In a bizarre way, yes. How did this even happen?" I couldn't believe what we were agreeing to.

Not only was this charismatic, and adorable, this boy going to help me with my predicament but he also had no problem with me wanting to win over my crush. I knew this night would be life changing! Now even though my heart belonged to Jimin, I couldn't help the friendly flirtation happening between Jungkook and I. It almost seemed like we were old buddies, or like siblings…no, scratch that, that would be too weird. Somehow this left me wondering how awkward things would get when it came down to my first lesson. Would I be able to take this serious, hide or burst out laughing?

I don't know!

Hoping that I would get an introduction to Jungkook's lesson plans, we were interrupted by Sora's voice calling out my name. I frowned already knowing that we had to leave, so we swam back. Still anticipating something to happen I stalled before heading over to Sora...and good thing I did.

"Well, Iseul. It was a pleasure meeting you and I look forward to our next encounter."

"Likewise…partner," I curtsied. Then regretted it.

At the last minute, he grabbed my hand. Holding it momentarily he then brought it to his mouth, staring intently at me as he kissed the back of my hand. From the very instant, his lips touched the surface, a warm flash shot up my arm. Who knew a simple gesture could be so intense.

"And that was the gentleman's kiss…for our first demonstration anyway," he flashed those dimples again and for a second, I forgot where I was.

During classes the following week, everything seemed normal and ordinary. I couldn't help enjoy the idea of having a dirty secret; one that I hadn't even told Sora. I was too afraid that Taehyung would immediately find out and humiliate me to no end. So the fact that no one knew I was going to make out with a hot guy after school had me walking with an extra strut in my step.

Looking forward to the future had me overlooking my present. Jimin had apparently been throwing tiny paper pellets at me while I was too busy dreaming about what awaited me after class. Once I saw the collection of confetti around my chair, I let out a sigh as though I didn't have the time or the energy to deal with his childishness.

"What's with you today?" Jimin whispered rather loudly.

"What do you mean?" I snarled.

Yet what I really wanted to ask him was if he was annoyed that I wasn't giving him the attention he craved, as I would normally be enthralled with his every move, especially if it was towards me. My goal was to kiss Jimin so good that he'd be left speechless and not think twice about asking me to be his girlfriend…braces and all. But compared to Jungkook, he looked and acted like a preschooler and I was ready to further my education.

Before I left that night at The Pit, Jungkook and I said we'd meet at Lover's Lane Park on Tuesday at 3:30 pm to be exact. We didn't exchange numbers, just made the appointment. Trusting he would be there when he said he would, I got there a few minutes earlier. This park held quite the reputation, thus the name Lover's Lane. Whenever I passed by I'd spot couples in different areas of the park, like little lovebirds nuzzling together.

I was responding to Sora's text when I saw a black car pull up. My heart rate increased a notch even though he was only my tutor. Still, we both smiled bashfully as we were fully aware of the idiots we were about to become.

"Kissing 101 starts now…How are you, Iseul?" Jungkook took a seat beside me.
